1 chapter 1:The Royal Box

"Hazel keep your head inside...its going to rain.." Sam advised me.This is a cloudy day.We started our journey to our village after a long time.It is a long journey on bullock cart.As soon as we entered, the greenery of my village greeted us with its beautiful bouquets of flowers on its branches,the clouds started to shower,the scent of mud is making me much more attracted towards the beauty of the nature.

On the way to our grandpas home we stopped the cart near the cotton field.It is the starting of rainy season.Grandpa just sowed the seeds and they just started to grow.We have a large tamarind tree in the middle of the field which is very old but very strong.We tied a rope on one of its branches and swings on it every single time we come to our village.We collected some tamarinds from the field and started again.

We reached our grandfathers home.We all greeted him.The smell of the fish curry from the kitchen dragged my attention.My grandmother is a master chef in cooking this recipie of fresh fish.My grandpa brings this fish from the river especially for me.He is very fond of fishing.He loves to spend time with nature.He says that their forefathers used to live in forests for so long.They used drink water from rivers and collected fruits from the forrsts.They belived that the earth is their mother. After enjoying my lunch with everyone we all sat to have some conversation.My grandfather told us a story...my cousins Mona,Reena,Sam and I listened carefully....

Grandpa slowly removed his spectacles saying "It was a rainy day.....I was working in the field....the rain was so heavy so I took shelter from my friend Radha,who is a young farmer living near my field with his newly married wife.Suddenly I heard a thunder...It was so loud.After some time I went back to the field as it stoped raining...I was shocked to see a large hole in the field..it was like a missile accidentally crashed....I felt very sad that the plants in my field were dead.I was very disappointed and came home.It was raining all the night.Next day when I went to the field,I was shocked to see a box inside the pit which was formed due to the thunderbolt.I took it carefully.It looks very old but it was very strong.I tried to open it but it did not opened."

He showed us the box.It is made of wood which looks great with an artistic design on it.There is a puzzle on it.It looks like a code to open it.We tried to solve it.But it was so tricky.

so I kept it aside and decided to play with sam.We started to play hopscotch,then we played bat mention.Meanwhile Reena was trying to solve the puzzle on mystery box.Suddenly the box got unlocked with a clap sound.We suddenly turned to Reena... she shouted "the box is opened."

We ran eagerly to see whats inside the box.We were expecting that there would be some tresure in it or some gold coins,rubies,pearls or diamonds,because my grandfather always told that kings used to hide their treasures under the earth.We opened it.There was nothing in it but an antic piece of clock.We felt disheartened but we were curious about the clock.

The clock was gold coated,shining.We taught that it belongs to some royal family.It is not a normal watch.....It has numbers 1 to 10 in one part and the second part has 10,20,30,40,50...100.We taught that this was just a toy.

In the evenig we showed the watch to our grandfather.He looked into it very carefully.Mona asked"grandpa is this a toy?"grandpa is observing it very carefully.He was shoked.He asked to bring a glass of water.Sam brought some water and gave it to grandpa.He drank it in one glimpse.I can see a kind of fear in his face.."grandpa..is everything alright?"

He suddenly asked me "which month is this?" I answered him confusingly "july...but why?" "Just remember this..we are in 1990.....july....." his voice was shivering,his face started sweating.He turned to cheak the watch once again.But this time Mona pressed the button on the clock with arrows marking 10 in one part and 30 in another part of the clock.Grandpa shouted "Mona.....no.....dont touch it....."

Suddenly I felt like something is dragging us very fast...i cant see anything.....I dont know what was happening.....the light was very bright....I felt unconscious all of a sudden....!
