More bodies fell in front of Lin Yi, and the sight of fresh blood triggered Jörmungandr, awakening its full potential. Lin Yi allowed it to unleash havoc, transforming his sword into a python-like shape. With each strike, he could devour two or three artificial one-eyed ghouls, tearing them apart.

Dr. Akihiro Kanou's expression shifted from madness to shock, eventually turning into fear.

Dr. Kanou gazed down at Lin Yi, his eyes growing increasingly intense. "I will obtain you."

With those words, Dr. Kanou turned and headed towards the secret passage behind him. He still possessed a hint of sanity, knowing that he had lost the battle today, and this matter would have to wait for another day.

As for the numerous artificial one-eyed ghouls outside, Dr. Kanou didn't even consider them living beings. Regardless of how many died, he felt no remorse.

Jörmungandr, in the form of a python, surrounded Lin Yi, emanating a formidable presence. It seemed to have come back to life. Each swing of its body and each bite of its massive jaws claimed lives effortlessly.

Over a hundred artificial one-eyed ghouls, comparable to A-class ghouls, perished in less than ten minutes.

Lin Yi wiped the blood from his sword and glanced in the direction Dr. Kanou had left, then pursued him directly.

Dr. Kanou was a cautious person. Upon taking over the laboratory, he had constructed a secret passage leading directly to the foot of the mountain, where a concealed off-road vehicle was parked.

"Vroom~ Vroom~"

Dr. Kanou rushed towards that location, crawling and rolling. Due to the morning dew, the ground had become muddy, and his pristine white lab coat was now covered in fallen leaves and dirt. Even his hand, holding the key, trembled.

He inserted the key into the keyhole and turned it several times, but failed to start the engine. Anxiety overwhelmed him, causing his forehead to be drenched in sweat.

It seemed he hadn't completely gathered the courage to abandon his life and escape.

Footsteps from the depths of the secret passage grew closer.

Finally, at that moment, the vehicle started successfully. Dr. Kanou hastily put it into gear and stepped on the gas pedal. The high-powered off-road vehicle roared, erupting with tremendous force.

In just a few seconds, it accelerated to a hundred kilometers per hour. The vehicle leaped forward, and Dr. Kanou's expression relaxed. However, his expression froze the next moment.

"Boom!"

A dark figure flashed before his eyes as Lin Yi descended from the sky and struck the front hood of the off-road vehicle with a palm, leaving a handprint in the dented metal.

The entire vehicle tilted at a 45-degree angle, with the rear raised and the front deeply embedded in the mud.

Dr. Kanou's head slammed violently against the steering wheel, causing blood to pour from his forehead, leaving him dizzy.

After a moment, Dr. Kanou regained his senses and saw Lin Yi standing in front of him, his face displaying a fierce expression. He pressed the gas pedal.

The off-road vehicle roared once again, but Lin Yi effortlessly halted it with a single foot.

Lin Yi slowly raised his sword and decisively swung it.

Terrified, Dr. Kanou quickly closed his eyes. However, after a moment of hesitation, he realized he hadn't been harmed. Opening his eyes, he saw that the off-road vehicle had been sliced in half, with a clean cut.

Lin Yi reached out and grabbed Dr. Kanou by the head.

"Wait, I can help you. Didn't you want my research data? I have made new discoveries and achievements recently; I can give them to you," Dr. Kanou pleaded hastily.

But Lin Yi completely ignored him. He exerted force, disregarding the fact that Dr. Kanou was still wearing a seatbelt, forcibly dragging him out of the driver's seat.

"No, please, I can work for you. I can help you create a ghoul army. You will be the king of the new world! Ahhhh!!!"

A desperate scream echoed in the night.

A trace of mockery flashed in Lin Yi's eyes. Since taking Dr. Kanou's research data, he had no interest in creating artificial ghouls, considering them worthless. He believed in Kaneki's abilities. In his eyes, Dr. Kanou was no longer useful.

"Trust me, I can help you..."

"Don't kill me! I can create weapons for you."

"Or we can negotiate. Tell me your demands; I can fulfill them."

Dr. Kanou continued to plead for mercy.

Lin Yi held his head and dragged him back through the secret passage, leaving a trail of blood behind.

"I thought you had committed your life to science. It's truly laughable," Lin Yi muttered. They were now close to the laboratory, and a faint light could be seen.

Dr. Kanou had been scratched by the steel pieces that separated him from the vehicle due to the seatbelt, leaving many wounds visible to the bone. He had been dragged by Lin Yi all this time and was now extremely weak, barely able to speak. However, in order to save his own life, he continued to beg with feeble sounds.

Entering the laboratory, Lin Yi saw that the battle between the two sisters had also ended.

Lin Yi wasn't worried about them. During the battle, he had kept an eye on both of them. They had made significant progress during this period, and fighting against A-class ghouls together wasn't difficult for them.

The only challenge they faced was their attachment to their parents, who were now ghouls.
