3 Wait a second... This isn't how its supposed to be

As I landed at the bottom of the well I realized something I should have realized earlier, much earlier.

the path was very much unknown to me as instead of a two direction to head in and the chain to climb back up the well, it was a very large open cavern with eight separate tunnel pathways.

I should have known this world was not going to be like the game I had watched others play, there was no starting platform trial, no introductory into how to heal(which is quite the scary thought) and no enemies so far.

I scoured the cavern to find anything of use, and found nothing.

I looked to the tunnels, and picked the smallest of the eight, it was just two heads taller than me.

as I ventured into the tunnel, I could hear skittering about coming from ahead.

the tunnel opened to above a massive pit and on the other side was another tunnel.

In the pit the skittering I could hear was coming from these grotesques things that somewhat resembled centipedes, they crawled along the bottom of the pit and on top of one another, they were covered in this orange pustule like things that I saw one burst and out came three little fly like things that were heading toward me.

I readied my nail, and on their approach they shot orange globs at me, I had swiftly dodged them.

the flying bugs which I will call globbies, were in my range now, with impressive speed that I did not know I had, I had cut down two of the globbies, the third one was about to shoot its glob at me, with little time and no options I leapt onto its back, where it struggled to stay in the air.

with a swing of my nail the globbie was dead and I was falling towards the pit full of the centipede things I'll call hosts.

as I was cursing my stupidity, something happened that I would have thought impossible, I was saved, by another being in this world.

I found myself sitting on my butt on the ground right next to where I entered, and looked up and saw someone I thought dead, because I was told every NPC was as well.

Hornet looked down at me, standing just a head taller than me, she had a contemplative look on her about how it was that I was not corrupted, while I was wondering the same for her.

"how is it you are alive?" she asked me...

"how are you?" I answer her question with a question.

"I still live because I am cursed by the very thing that ended this world, forced to walk my days seeing everything having been torn asunder." she says.

"The Radiance?" I blurt out.

"so you know its name!" she exclaims preparing her nail to cut me down.

"w-wait! you've got it wrong, I was sent here to end it!" I panic say in the heat of the moment.

"is that so, then I shall keep my eye on you." she says almost not convinced.

"alright then." I say knowing she would even if I said no.

"good, my name is hornet, what is yours little bug?" she asks me.

"my name... is-"
