“Are you sure about that?” Zary could not help but spoke a little louder at the information. The fear and panic growing in her heart. She was now at the registration counter that Aron had led her to in order to check on Sam and if he was here as well.

“Yes, Miss. You were brought here alone last night. And we didn’t have any records of another car accident patient who checked in last night until now.” the woman behind the counter explained patiently to Zary.

Zary shook her head. “No. That’s not possible. That can’t be possible!” she kept shaking her head as she repeated in denial.

“Zary,” Aron held her wrist and gently pressed his thumb against her skin, rubbing little circles into it, as if hoping that the little gesture would help calm her down. He knew that she was working herself into a full-blown panic attack if he did not stop her now. “Let’s go have a seat right there.” And he pulled on her as he led her towards the seat he pointed to.
