19 To be mine for two days [Bonus chapter]

Suzy had his hands inside her pocket while standing on the huge balcony of the lavish restaurant, where she just finished an important meeting with a client.

Chris' words were still inside her head. He didn't care for her dignity. Did she make a wrong decision by signing this contract marriage deal? Thinking all that, tears welled up in her eyes, but she didn't let them fall.

Daniel's hand rested over her shoulder, but she kept her gaze averted from him. "Suzy, what did Chris say to you? You don't look good at all," he stated, showing his genuine concern to Suzy.

Suzy composed herself and asked Daniel if she had any other important work in the company.

"No. This was the only meeting you had. Do you want to go home?" Daniel asked.

"Yes. I want to be alone for some time. Since yesterday, I couldn't get time for myself," Suzy admitted.

"Why don't you consider staying at my apartment? Since you've already moved your belongings to your new place, it might be a hassle to find a rental so quickly," Daniel suggested.

"I'm worried about inconveniencing you and your sister," Suzy responded.

"Don't worry, you're not a nuisance to us," Daniel reassured. "In that case, we can consult a lawyer to start the divorce proceedings with Chris," he suggested.

"I cannot divorce Chris. Don't ask me why, but I cannot. My priority is to live separately from him, as I believe it's the best choice for both of us," Suzy firmly stated.

"I don't think you should stay married to him for whatever reason you hold. He is the worst of the worst," Daniel said as his anger once again escalated.

Suzy couldn't tell Daniel it was her deal to change Chris and pave his way to the position of chairman. She wasn't supposed to run away from Chris, but the more she would stay with him, the more she would remain disturbed.

Daniel turned quiet to see Suzy's silence. "Can't you even share with me? We are best friends, Suzy. I should be aware of your situation," he asserted.

"It's tough to explain," Suzy affirmed. Suddenly, her phone buzzed in her pocket and she took it out to check. Benjamin was calling her, so she promptly answered his call.

"Suzy, I hope I didn't disturb you at this hour," Benjamin said from the other side of the call.

"Not at all," Suzy replied and waited for him to speak further.

"Master Arthur wants to have dinner with you two in the evening. He wants to have the food in his granddaughter-in-law's hands. That's why I called you so that you'll make something delicious for Master Arthur for dinner," Benjamin asserted.

Suzy didn't want to live with Chris, but now suddenly Arthur wanted to visit them. She couldn't refuse Benjamin and agreed to it. "When will Grandpa be at home?" Suzy inquired.

"I think by seven in the evening," Benjamin replied.

"Okay. Thank you for informing me," Suzy said with a polite tone and found the call got hung up. She gazed at the screen and then at Daniel. "I need to cook meals since Grandpa will visit me and Chris in the evening," she informed Daniel and told him she couldn't go to his home.

"What? Are you their servant? I bet they have hundreds of chefs on command. Why must you cook dinner for them? Also, you need rest. I'm not letting you step in the house, where Chris lives," Daniel protested.

"It's not about being their servant. Grandpa Arthur wants to have dinner with us. I shouldn't forget how Grandpa helped me when everyone turned me down," Suzy said, a tiny smile forming on her lips.

Daniel ended up embracing Suzy and said, "You sacrificed yourself for the company. I feel so useless since I couldn't help you."

Suzy placed her hand on his back. "You didn't leave my side and that's what matters the most, Daniel. You've always been there," she added and felt a bit better to share a part of her inner turmoil with him.

Chris went through the list that Benjamin gave to him. Suzy went to more than five such CEOs of companies with whom she had a nicer relationship before. Benjamin explained to Chris how Suzy decided to end her deals with them in just one month for no prior reason. The only reason others believed was not getting funds from them. Chris knew that they were the ones who offered Suzy the money in exchange for giving her body.

Chris's jaw clenched and his blood boiled in anger with that thought. He decided to visit all those five by himself and punish them for taking advantage of his wife.

Before Chris put his phone away, a message popped up on his screen with a strange message.

"Why is Suzy hugging another man?" Peter had written the message. Chris quickly checked the picture, which Peter had stared at the group, and saw Daniel hugging Suzy.

Chris' sharp brows drew closer as he scrunched his nose.

"Was she in love with him?" Thomas typed the next.

"Perhaps, the guy is her friend," Liam stated. "But where did you get this picture?" he quickly asked Peter.

"Lydia brought me here on a lunch date," Peter typed.

Chris put away his phone and started the car's engine to drive to see Nikolas, the son of Kostakis Group. His hands were tightly glued to the steering wheel and he finally applied the brakes upon reaching outside the Kostakis Group's company.

Chris went to the receptionist and asked him to call her CEO's office.

"Pardon me, Sir?" the receptionist got confused for a moment with his sudden request. "May I know who you are? Do you have any prior appointment?" she questioned, keeping her tone humble.

"I'm Chris Onetti. My Grandpa, Arthur Onetti, has a partnership project with Kostakis Group," he explained and that was enough for the receptionist to call the executive CEO's office. She hung up the call and informed Chris she would take him to the VIP elevator.

Chris hummed and followed her suit. Stepping into the elevator, Chris soon reached the top floor of the company. As the elevator opened, he was welcomed by Nikolas' secretary. After a formal greeting, he took Chris to the CEO's office.

As Chris entered the majestic office of Kostakis Group CEO's office, he was greeted by Nikolas, a man in his early thirties.

"It's a rare sight to see the heir of Onetti Group," Nikolas pronounced as Chris stepped into his office. "By the way, congratulations on getting married to Suzy Watson. I hope for a reception party soon, Chris," he said with a smile before asking him to take a seat, which definitely annoyed Chris.

"Why did Suzy cut ties with your company?" Chris asked.

"That's not the question I expected," Nikolas stated.

"Answer me, Nikolas," Chris said with his murderous gaze.

"That's between the CEOs of two companies. I don't think I'm liable to answer you," Nikolas replied with a chuckle and settled comfortably on the plush couch.

Chris approached him and pulled him up by the collar of his blazer. With his murderous gaze boring at Nikolas, Chris said, "I know how much you love one-night stands. I also know your dutiful wife doesn't know about your unfaithful actions. Did you ask Suzy to sleep with you in exchange for money?" His question was clear. He warned Nikolas not to utter a lie before him because he would definitely bring doom to him.

"Did Suzy tell you?" Nikolas asked. "I can't believe her!" he muttered. "Well, I did ask her. She was in dire need of money and I only wanted her to be mine for two nights," he admitted when Chris threw a hard punch at his face.

"Chris!" Nikolas shouted at him. His secretary ran inside only to find the two were holding each other's collar.

Chris punched Nikolas again and again when the secretary held his hand. The other executive employees also came running inside upon hearing the noises and the male employees got hold of Chris.

"I will kill you, Nikolas!" Chris bellowed at him.
