22 Seizing your cards

"Is that the reason you went to see Nikolas and threw punches at him?" Suzy questioned him.

"Hell, no!" Chris refused to admit it and silently resumed eating. Suzy sipped the iced tea while keeping her gaze fixated on him.

"Grandpa will come home in the evening. He wants to have dinner with us," Suzy said, causing Chris to look at her.

"Why?" Chris asked.

"He wants to have dinner made with my hands. I had plans to shift today, but I might have to postpone it for tomorrow," Suzy informed him.

"Shift where?" Chris furrowed his brows together.

"We shouldn't live together since you have problems with me. I don't want to ruin my mornings with you," Suzy confessed.

"Say this to Grandpa. If he allows you to leave, then I won't stop you," Chris stated. He knew Suzy would never leave his side because Arthur had given her a good amount for that.

Suzy, on the other hand, thought she would find Chris' other side if she brought up the topic of living in his house. However, no such thing could happen. Chris was willing to let her go. She silently finished the iced tea while Chris finished his meal.

Chris looked for the wallet and recalled he left it in his car, which was still outside the Kostakis company. Suzy paid the bills and saw Chris living as he called someone. She followed him outside to the open balcony of the restaurant and stood next to him.

Chris hung up the call and gazed at her. "You should leave. I need to be somewhere," he said.

"My work is over, so I'll be accompanying you," Suzy stated. "Let's go to bring your cherished sports car," she affirmed and pivoted on her heels when her eyes fell on a woman, looking much younger than her.

"Chris, I heard you got married," Natalie said and chuckled, "but I never thought it would be an arranged marriage for you."

Chris ignored her presence and walked ahead of Suzy. Natalie quickly stood in his way and said, "Return my feelings for you. The way you cheated on me and in the end, threw me like some trash."

"It was your illusion to think I like you or love you. You knew very well why I showed interest in you. Now, step away from my way," Chris asserted and glared at Natalie.

When she didn't, Chris took a step on his left. Natalie caught his wrist and again stood in front of me. "I want to know why?" she asked.

Suzy was unable to understand what was the history between those two. But she was sure about one thing: Chris was a terrible heartbreaker.

"Ask my Dad, who sent you to impress me," Chris answered.

Natalie lost her temper and raised her hand in the air to slap Chris. However, he caught his hand in the midway. "Don't even dare to do that," he said and left the huge balcony.

Natalie gazed at Suzy, who was bewildered to see that sight. "I heard how your company got saved just by marrying him. Strange! Did you give something–" she couldn't finish off his words as Chris interjected.

"Suzy, why are you still here?" Chris approached her and grasped her hand before taking her out with him.

Chris let go of Suzy's hand and turned to look at her. "People are going to raise fingers at you. You love your dignity, so consider divorcing me. I'll depart my ways here, you can go home," he stated and went to the other side.

"I'll go home with you," Suzy said after running toward him. "Let's retrieve your car first. I don't want to book a cab when you have a car already," she affirmed.

Chris didn't stop her and they got into a cab first to reach the Kostakis Group company. When they arrived there, Chris' car remained untouched and no one dared to move it away. Quickly, he got into the car while Suzy entered the passenger's seat.

Chris started the engine and drove it out of the company's premises.

"How many women you've been with so far?" Suzy asked.

"No one. It's their fault to think I actually started loving them," Chris stated and snickered. At that moment, his phone rang and he checked the screen.

"Grandpa!" Chris murmured and put the call on speaker.

"Where are you, Chris?" Arthur's voice didn't seem pleasant.

"I'm driving, returning home," Chris replied.

"I'm seizing your cards from now onward. Don't ask me why because you know the reason," Arthur informed from the other side and hung up the call, shocking Chris.

"F*ck!" Chris cursed and pressed his hand tightly on the steering wheel.

"So, now, you've to be dependent on me for pocket money," Suzy remarked with a smile.

"Never," Chris muttered.

Suzy started smiling followed by a light laughter. "Chris, you should learn humility. Respect what you have and stop being a bad boy. It doesn't make you cool at all," she suggested.

"Oh, I love to learn bad things and do the bad things," Chris proclaimed. "It happened because of that bastard. I will destroy his company," he muttered under his breath.

"How are you going to do that?" Suzy asked. "Do you think your grandpa will end a deal with Nikolas just because you had a confrontation earlier?" she was curious to know.

"I'll find other ways," Chris replied.

"What ways?" Suzy asked.

"Don't eat my mind," Chris affirmed.

"Only I can help you, and for that, you should listen to me," Suzy asserted.

"I don't need your help. I'm capable enough to bring Nikolas on the road," Chris stated.

"Do you even know how a company works?" Suzy asked with a chuckle.

"I might not be attending the college regularly, but I do know. Also, why do I need to explain everything?" Chris muttered.

"I would like to see how you handle Nikolas," Suzy replied when her phone buzzed. She checked the message and furrowed her brows together, which Chris noticed.

"Stop the car!" Suzy said.

"What?" He exclaimed.

"Stop the car, Chris!" Suzy requested this time.

"No, I won't," Chris refused to do so.
