The figure cladded in black hoodie with black pants and a pair of sneakers was sitting on a couch beside Layla's, she slowly stepped forward letting go of the door and said "Why are you here?"
But the other party flashed her a charming smile, is she dreaming like right now? His icy expression couldn't be detected, he must be good at pretending. But couldn't deny him looking just charming especially the smile plastered on his face which make her wondered maybe it wasn't faked in the first place.
Layla frowned and scolded, "Is that how you attend and talk to a guest"
"Mom, he isn't a..." Jennie who tried to argue with what Layla said was cut off abruptly by Layla offended gazes.
Layla glanced at the position the classmate called Blake was sitting before questioning, "is there any feud between you two?"
Blake remained silent, his demeanor was relaxed and calm. Jennie frowned he was mostly responsible for this why come visiting! She was only a day absent from school infact the day hasn't ended. "No feud at all" she quickly said looking anxiously at Layla.
Layla was not convinced she was about to say something when the calm and the gentle boy sitting opposite her smoothly cut in and explained "Aunty Jennie was absolutely right, no feud between us at all infact at school we both are best of friends"
Jennie glared at him and gritted her teeth, how dare he lied he actually said they both were friends. The last time she checked he was still an admirer and emphasis on the admirer!... his goal was only... she wondered, Wait a minute is this part of his so called pursuing? Jennie eyes widens at the sudden realization.
Layla looked at them both suspiciously and said "alright if it's as you said you shouldn't treat your guest that way alright!"
Jennie nodded while Blake smiled triumphantly at her particularly raising his head high and said "Aunty Jennie is not always like this, she always help me with things at school and shared her things with me with no restraints also cheerful and warm"
"Is that a peach?" Asked Layla with surprise.
Jennie nodded and said "It's a gift"
She watched him spouting nonsense, her eyes darkens more, when did she help him with things. "I will go get myself some water" She said walking towards the kitchen, couldn't come up with any excuse at that moment. Sure enough her assumption was right.
On getting to the kitchen she almost slammed her fist against the cabinet, who was she kidding wasn't it so obvious. Have he no shame?
Her eyes went to the previously leaking pipe but it was unexpectedly fixed!
She placed the water bottle on the kitchen island and she wasn't thirsty in the first place.
She peeped from the kitchen at her mom and Blake, it was still that fierce and arrogant face but it was less wild and unruly for some unknown reason, it was... Could she say colder, definitely his previous expressions were faked.
He happens to glanced towards where she was peeping from, the gaze that fell on her was as if he readily admitted it and uttered without sonant breath "Ain't I so different than usual?, all for you baby"
Baby? Baby what! She almost went mad with anger, she looked more like an hot steaming crab. This little... Mysterious old evil!
Her face flushed shamelessly, she could only walked in, leaving her peeping spot but it was already awkward, thus she tried initiating a conversation "The pipe has been fixed?" She declared questionly with an expectant gaze fixed on Layla.
Layla eyes brightened and she said as if recollecting an amusing scene "oh yeah! It has been fixed. Tell you, your friend right here helped fixing it, he realized I was talking to the repairing services on phone and he voluntarily said he would do it"
"Mom!"
"What is it honey?" Layla asked innocently
Jennie rolled her eyes and said "nothing!"
Layla simply said "en, I will be in my room then, take care of your guest" she stood up throwing a knowing look at Jennie before going.
After Layla was completely gone, her suppressed dissatisfaction was vivid, she said directly "you're quite pretentious aren't you?"
Blake chuckled genuinely as if admitting to what she said.
Jennie who wasn't satisfied said again but fiercer than the last "Tell me, what are you doing here!"
Blake stood up, shaking off those smiles he put on minutes ago, he looked at her like a predator, his gazes full of unpredictability, he encircled her and stop right before her, bend to her height and whispered into her ear In a self deprecating manner "I came to visit you baby, since you're absent from school which is so unlike you, moreover I thought I was being a gentleman, it wasn't like I didn't have evil thoughts, but I'm completely sincere only to you don't you dare say you don't like me?"
Jennie step back few meters, this guy was so handsome in every part of his body that he attracted her sight every seconds, her heart was beating very fast and inexplicable impulse ran around her body, she didn't know what to do to ease this feeling. She immediately stuttered "wh...what are you saying?"
Blake looked up into her eyes , he looked blank but if you look closely you will see hurricane of emotions in his eyes, he said " alluring? Peerless? Unmatchable beauty? You possessed all but what If I told you I didn't like you because of that?"
Her whole self trembled a few times, what is he doing? She swallowed in a subconscious gesture.
However Blake stubbornly refused to make a sound after that, he only watched her confused expression closely, seldomly seen emotions stirring up in his eyes.
Faint blush covered her fair skin, it was particularly alluring.
The expression on Blake face unexpectedly changed, she actually had the reaction he wanted, he was very happy, very happy he was this close to getting what he wants, He knew the emotions underneath his cold heart was this tenderness towards her.
The youthful and undisguised smile on his face was befitting, for the first time he smiled genuinely it was especially enchanting.
For such an expression to appear on Blake face who was used to his unfriendliness and complacent gazes was very precious at that moment.
She felt her heart melting as such until it become so soft, unable to be suppressed.
He quietly muttered "You don't hate me"
Jennie stared at him she couldn't deceive herself, although she thought of him being standoffish she doesn't really hate him, rather she wanted him to always maintained that smiles even if it's only to her it's enough.
Blake inched closer to her and took her hand and wrapped his hands around it, it was a touch filled with affection, perhaps the atmosphere was good or because of his somewhat sincere gaze Jennie heart jumped as if it was escaping.
Blake saw her expression and asked "You like me as well, don't you?"
It seemed like the air froze suddenly screeching abruptly to cease, Jennie removed her hand from his grasp quickly.
"I like you" Blake said smiling.
