Break up II

The silence was deafening. He returned her gaze, hoping she would back off, but she continued to blatantly stare. "You gonna talk or stare?" He finally broke the silence and gave her the power in doing so.

"You have really nice lips." She murmured. She liked how despite their strength they still managed to be gentle. Plus, their appearance wasn't bad either. They were... sensual.

"Same to..."

"You know, it makes me wonder," she interrupted him. "How someone who's been engaged their entire life. Or entire adult live, has such good technique. It was pleasurable, and had no sloppiness anywhere. Overall, it's a pretty experienced kiss."

He realized she was testing his fidelity to her. Something that he wasn't going to admit no matter what. "And, since when are you experienced enough to be able to critique my technique?"

Wu Sun-Mi realized she miscalculated, if she had batted her eyelashes and cutely asked if he had been loyal to her he would've had to straightforwardly lie or tell the truth. Not evade the question like he was doing it now.

She moved her head away from him and clicked her tongue in annoyance. Ra Sung-Ho couldn't help but smirk. She was cute.

Yet, it also made him realized that the situation was absurd, one second they were cutting ties, the next they were kissing, and now they're holding each other while asking about past experiences.

He tightened his hold on her waist as she looked up at him. He leaned forward and hugged her closer. Their eyes met as they simultaneously rested their foreheads on each other. "Let's forget about this," he finally declared.

"..." Wu Sun-Mi froze in his arms. 'Did he play me. No. Why didn't he get me in bed if he was gonna play me?'

Ra Sung-Ho saw the confusion in her eyes and continued, "you said it was your father's decision, right? We've kissed but nothing has change. He won't allowed us to be together, and I don't think we even like each other."

His eyes were passionate as he spoke such rational words. They didn't like each other.

What was the point of fighting the most powerful man in Korea for something as trivial as a kiss?

'Shame,' Wu Sun-Mi thought. 'I wanted to kiss him again.'

She kept looking at his face and the more she looked the more she liked. Fair skin, pretty eyes, sensual lips, masculine features. A rare gem, if she thought so herself. 'Fuck it. A second time won't hurt.'

She stood on her toes once again, wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his lips. 'This feels good...'

Ra Sung-Ho was surprised but immediately gave in. 'It's just a kiss,' he thought.

They both separated after a few minutes, gasping for air.

Wu Sun-Mi saw the state of his hair and couldn't hero but find it embarrassing. She pulled at his hair while they kiss. It was only afterwards that she noticed the damage.

His hair, which was perfectly combed before, looked messy. But boyish.

She tried to fix it while she responded to his later statement. "You're right. The only thing my father cares about is power. Let's forget about this."

She finally managed to make it look a bit less chaotic and slowly stepped away from him.

He leaned on one of the bookshelves and saw her messy clothes but decided to do nothing about it. Yes, they kissed. But that doesn't mean he was any less annoyed.

"Ra Sung-Ho." She called out his name. "My father is not doing this with the intention of hurting you. He just wants what he thinks is best for his family. Don't hate him too much."

"He thinks that I'm not what's best?" He walked closer to her.

Wu Sun-Mi took a step back and answered. "No. He believes that you won't survive."

He grabbed her hand and fixed her wrinkled skirt. "What do you think?"

Wu Sun-Mi wanted to cheer for him but decided against it. "I agree. You won't survive. They'll eat you alive out there and you won't be able to protect anybody."

'He needs someone to hate if wants to become the protagonist. Not only my father but anyone who doubts him.'

"And you will?" Ra Sung-Ho sarcastically spoke with venom. To the best of his knowledge she hadn't even awakened. She was a spoiled rich girl, who didn't know anything about the world.

Wu Sun-Mi laugh with annoyance. "Yes. I have protection. No matter what happens to me, my father, my brother, and whoever ends up being my partner will protect me. What about you?" She challenged him.

Ra Sung-Ho's mood turned bitter. 'She's right. I knew this was coming, I just didn't want to face it. Our families' relationship has become colder and colder. Why would her father want someone who can't even protect his daughter to marry her? Much less someone who's not of any asset to him.'

"You should go. My schedule is gonna be packed thanks to you." He swiftly walked past her and left his words hanging on the air.

'Yes, you will be very busy thanks to me.' Wu Sun-Mi quickly turned around and ordered, "don't you dare kiss someone else after me!" Basically telling him to come back for her.

Ra Sung-Ho was already out of the room, but the corner of his lips lifted as he touched them and remembered her taste.

Wu Sun-Mi pushed her hair away from her face, trying to gather her thoughts. She would have never even dream of being in this situation. Yet she was currently standing inside the house of the male lead with wrinkled clothes and swollen lips. Clear signs of a passionate makeout session. 'Ugh, why did I say that? The female lead is someone extremely important to the storyline, I can't appear from nowhere and replace her.'

Wu Sun-Mi leaned against the bookshelf and banged her head against it. "Am I stupid? Am I dumb? Do I need professional help?" She murmured to herself as she repeatedly banged here head.

"By your actions, I would have to agree." Wu Sun-Mi turned her head and saw Mr. Baek.

Weirdly enough, she was relieved to see him. Like a child, she called out his name with grievances, "old man!" She cried.

The hair on his arms stood up and he took a step back. His smile became more forced. "What?" He asked her with disgust.

The spoiled child that he dreamed of abandoning multiple times was calling out his name in a sweet tone while looking so unsightly.

Wu Sun-Mi awoke from her momentary state of weakness and remembered who was in front of her. "Old man, give me my phone."

Mr. Baek sighed with relieved as he walked inside the room and handed over her purse while keeping her coat under his arm with great care. 'It's better when she behaves like this.'

Wu Sun-Mi started to walk around the library looking for something. Mr. Baek could no longer be surprise by any of her antics, so he stayed still in the same place while watching over her.

After a few minutes, Wu Sun-Mi finally found what she was looking for. She found an old book that didn't really stand out among the others and started taking pictures of every page. 'Let's get this over with.'
