18 Chapter 18: Living in Death

Lust roamed through the air, making minute changes to the dungeon.

Like she had done on the first floor, he added multiple hidden hot springs of various size all around.

He even created waterfalls, both hidden and mot.

Considering every water source was regenerative, he thought it was fitting to have many sources.

He zoomed throughout space and arrived in front of the small group of 6.

It was quite the sight to see 6 nude people venturing though out a dark stairwell.

Well.. they were relatively naked. The Nameless girl had her small cloth covering her private, and the rest had small phantom pieces of clothing conjured by Riley's magic.

Lucas held a damaged sword in his hands, stolen from the corpse of the Decrepit Swordsman.

Maya had replaced her stolen bow with two twin daggers that was found at the bottom of the chest in the Throne room.

As of now, the group was descending down a seemingly never ending stairwell.

A staircase that could very well lead to their demise…

"I think we've reached the bottom…" The Nameless girl announced from the front, looking at the large opening that had light showing through it.

"I have a feeling we're going to face a truly powerful beast… be careful." She said, stepping through it as the group followed behind.

As they all stepped into the light, their eyes took in the beautiful sight before them.

The large cave area with glowing crystals all around, the thin layer of water on the ground that reflected the light.

It was truly beautiful.

However what attracted them the most was the thick wall of mist at the other end of room.

Most of the group thought it just looked nice, but when they glanced at the Nameless girl, their gaze stiffened.

She seemed to have frozen, sweat dripping down her face as her grip on her ethereal blades tightened.

"Oh fuck…" She whispered, instantly taking a few steps back.

She swiftly turned around to where they had came from, but she was met with a wall.

A wall of mist, blocking their way back.

"Oh fuck!" She nearly yelled, panic clearly filling her.

"W-What is it?!" Lucas asked, his grip on his sword tightening as stepped closer to the wall of mist, everyone else following.

"This… This… This is like, boss room shit!" She whined. "Souls-Like boss room shit!!~"

She almost cried those words, and as she did, something seemed to rise from the water near the center of the room.

Everyone turned to it, watching a person rose to their feet.

It was an unclothed, pale blue skinned man. He was relatively tall, and both his eyes had a blank stare. He had short rough hair, and a completely dead gaze.

He was missing 3 fingers on his left hand, and his mouth was cut into a wide constant smile.

It seemed that his right arm had been reattached at his bicep, as their was a circle of scar tissue.

Oddly enough, his most tantalizing feature was the hanging penis between his legs.

It was oddly large…

"Rrnm…" He groaned, lifting his hands to crack his neck.

"My god… I promise you this will not be easy!" The nameless girl said, readying her energy sword as sweat was already falling off her face.

"W-What is that thing?…" Faye asked nervously.

"I am the thing you fear most." It spoke. "I am the thing you cherish the most."

"I am your deepest desire, and your greatest horror." It chanted, raising a finger to the 6.

"Move!"

"I am living death."

*BOOM!*

Lucas and the Nameless girl rolled to the right, and the rest dove left.

A dark beam of gaseous essence had sprouted from the Undead's finger, hitting a part of the wall behind the group.

The wall corroded, some of it withering away after the small explosion.

"What is that!?" Riley yelled, stumbling to his feet.

"That is no magic." He said nervously, raising his hands towards the creature, a ball of fire flying towards it.

"You're a mage!" The undead said, the fire ball exploding in its face.

"A weak one though…" It stepped through the small ball of smoke, walking towards the group.

"Just… Just make sure I dont die!" The Nameless girl said, a small smile appearing on her nervous face.

She dashed forward, her sword trailing behind her.

"Assist me however!" She yelled.

She crossed path with the walking undead, slashing at his stomach.

*Kishck*

It a sizzling cut was left on his side, but it seemed to have no effect as before she could exit his range, a hand had grasped her hair ponytail.

"Ouchie." The undead said.

"I'll give it to you. You're fast, and strong, but you're nothing compared to me." In the simplest movement, she was thrown straight into Faye and Leah, knocking the two to the ground.

"Please do better. You are the first to make it here, you've crossed a frontier no one has! As the King of the First Floor, and the Guardian of the Second, please let me enjoy this battle." With his sluggish posture, he strode towards the group.

"You're weaker than you think!" The Nameless girl rushed to her feet, the sword in her hand transforming into a dagger.

With ferocity, she threw it at the undead, the slim dagger cutting straight through his stomach.

From her perspective, it was a wonderful sight.

[Critical hit!]

The words floated near the wound, the undead's large health bar slightly dropping.

"Hmph!" She smiled, dashing towards it.

"Hmph? Funny" The undead said, his health completely replenishing as the wound closed.

Considering she had just arrived near him, and was going to take advantage of the damage she had done, it was quite the surprise to see it completely disappear.

"You?…"

A cruel smile appeared on its face, his fist flying straight into her face.

She was once again sent flying, tumbling into the water a few meters away.

'Holy shit…' She thought to herself, completely disoriented.

She looked up at the creature she was fighting, his eyes trying to focus.

[True Undead, Lokir, Level 25]

[Observation: A creature living in death. It has infinite stamina and has little to no senses, barely being able to see, hear, smell, taste, or feel. Being the guardian of a floor, it has the special ability that allows it to manipulate fear to an extent.]

She stared at the small description she conjured.

"I guess my level hasn't grown enough to see everything thats important…" She muttered.

'I guess True Undead have speed regeneration.' She climbed to her feet, ready to fight, when she paused for a moment.

A small smile appeared on her face and she took a few steps back, a long structure forming in her hands.

It was a bow of energy, and she quickly aimed it at the zombie.

A blue arrow materialized in her hand, and she quickly pulled it back, firing a shot off.

'I'm glad I did archery as a kid!'
