Chapter 6 - Magical Feats!

Chapter 6 - Magical Feats!

Immediately Maxmillan asked that, Lenna couldn't help but look at him with surprise in her face, as he was speaking too intelligently for his age.

Was this another miracle because he awakened? She pondered without revealing anything on her face.

Before the real Maxmillan in this world died, all he cared about was play, eat and sleep. But now, she felt that things have changed monumentally, since her son was beginning to sound much more intelligent than his peers, and seemed deeply curious about things that he shouldn't be contemplating about at his age.

"Son, I can produce magical effects. But not up to the level of old man Garrett who is an Astra Spellcraft Commander. I am only an average caster of Astra Mystralis. So, comparing me to old man Garrett is like comparing a burning charcoal to the sun. We are worlds apart." Lenna said.

She then continued with a slight smile in her face, "Everyone in this town are capable of producing magical effects. But many of us are not as talented as a few others who are more skillful in using Astra Mystralis to produce magical effects on a more unprecedented scale."

"Wow. So, everyone can really generate magical effects? That's hugely amazing." Maxmillan said while Lenna produced a smile in her face.

She then continued, "Maxmillan, about Astra Mystralis that you asked me earlier, it's simply a boundless, invisible arcane energy that we enter into harmony with and would allow us to produce all sorts of magical effects, which however totally depended on our individual creativity skills and our level of congruence with the energy."

"Like old man Garrett who is an Astra Spellcraft Commander, his level of harmony with Astra Mystralis should be several hundred times greater than ours, since we are pretty much low-level to average-level casters of Astra Mystralis. And now that we are getting older and can only use it manage a few domestic chores around the home, our perception of it, as well as our harmonization level with Astra Mystralis, is greatly declining. It has been on the decline ever since, and the rate at which it drops would exponentially increase when we get to a much older age."

Once she finished saying that, Maxmillan's eyes which previously glittered immediately dimmed.

Now that he had accepted Lenna as his mother, and then her two daughters as his sisters, he definitely wouldn't want to become utterly useless to them. He wanted to become something that they could look up at and be incomparably proud of themselves.

"Mom, don't worry, you have your son. All the things that you want done will be done by me." Maxmillan said while Lenna immediately broke a warm smile in her face and said, "Thank you love. You are so understanding and intellectual. Having such marveling characteristics alone, makes me extremely proud of you."

"However, you are still young and should have fun. Don't let the things that this woman said disturb you and put you in a path where you wouldn't be able to enjoy your childhood. That's more important. It's only when you are much more older and can take on many other responsibilities that you could start thinking of these kind of things. Okay?"

"Yes, mom." Maxmillan answered and nodded his head.

"Good. Now, there is still time to go out there and play with your friends. And I believe old man Garrett must have finished his magical acts by now. So, go have fun with your friends. And remember not to engage in arguments or fights with them. Or if you are reported to me to be involved in any sort of fight with your friends, I will be angry at you." Lenna said while Maxmillan nodded his head.

He then left the house through the door and closed it behind him. And as soon as he climbed down the stairs, he headed towards the gate in the distance before walking out through it to arrive in the street once again.

'Now that I have understood that everyone can perceive Astra Mystralis and enter into an harmonious state with it, where does that leave me? Would I be able to do the same? But I am not from this world and will definitely lack the attribute that will help me accomplish such a difficult thing. Ugh. I have been placed in a really difficult position this time."

"I am sure that by the time I am older, I would be required by my parent to become an Astra Mystralis caster, regardless of whether I become a low-level, average-level or high-level caster. And I definitely wouldn't want to disappoint them, or I might be seen as a useless son. Ugh!' Maxmillan said with an inexplicable look appearing in his face as he pondered about a lot of things within himself.

He then said further inwardly, 'Anyway, I am still really young. And if I start practicing now on attuning my perception to the energy so that I can become one with it, I should be able to easily become a caster in the future.'

'But ugh! Why magic of all things? Can't they focus on building life-changing technologies, no matter how primitive and useless they would look? But no, they chose to trail the path of spell casting, which is definitely going to be a really difficult thing for me to achieve since I am not someone from around here and would therefore entirely lack the fundamental innate perceivability required to sense Astra Mystralis and become one with it to manifest all sort of magic-related things.'

'Anyway, I know that with time as I get older, grow more knowledgeable and practice much more harder than before, I believe I should be able to tune my senses and awareness to the frequency that the energy vibrates in. Can't wait to see what Astra Mystralis holds for me.' Maxmillan heartily grinned and dispelled the worries and fears that had gathered and formed into an oppressive overshadowing silhouette in his heart.

And since he was much more older than all the kids around, except that he was inhabiting the body of a five year old, Maxmillan tried moving from one street to the next to view as many things as possible. And as he did so, where he entered different streets and looked from one home to the next, he could see different kids from the age of ten to fifteen, producing bright colored glows in their eyes and uttering incomprehensible words that caused astonishing magical effects to instantly take place around them.

One of such that he saw which really impacted him, was when light rays coming from the sun reflected off her entire figure like it were nothing but a mirror and therefore caused the girl who seemed to be between the ages of thirteen to fifteen to achieve near-total invisibility.

Another that he came across when walking down a street, was a boy between the ages of ten to twelve who caused numerous small rocks to gather around his two arms and immediately fuse together to form a solid heavy gauntlet made purely of rock. Although the gauntlets seemed really heavy for the boy to carry, they however looked light in the eyes of people that glanced at them. Then when he pointed at a tall tree far in front of him, a small piece of rock instantly fired off from the gauntlet like a cannon and pierced deeply into the tree where it lodged inside it.

After seeing so many of these absolutely fascinating and breathtaking acts, Maxmillan made up his mind to hone his perceptivity to the point of effortlessly sensing Astra Mystralis wherever he went to, and attuning his physical senses and entire being to the energy so that he would be able to perform something similar or spectacularly dazzling than the incredibly astounding feats that he saw others seamlessly and gracefully execute.
