98 Chapter 98: Total Waste

"Commander, all four Dolls are here, but they seem to have been shut down or in sleep mode. Do you want us to reboot them?" Just as the two were speaking, CF05 and SPAS-12 returned from their search for the unidentified Doll objects.

In the massive hands of the exoskeleton, one hand held a T-Doll.

The man who had just questioned Reno about his intentions, upon hearing CF05 speak, paused for a moment, then quickly realized that these intimidating figures were just Dolls!

"Not necessary for now. I'll check their mental state first."

Normally, Dolls wouldn't shut down on their own unless commanded, just like how normal humans wouldn't hammer themselves into a vegetative state to sleep.

Since these Dolls were in sleep mode and their power cores were still active, Griffin's commander couldn't have shut down his Tactical Dolls and handed them over to the Doll Rights Protection Association.

Moreover, as Tactical Dolls modified from Civilian Dolls, they lacked the ability to voluntarily destroy their own neural cores like Sangvis, so these Dolls must have been controlled by someone before being shut down and put to sleep.

When they approached the Doll Rights Protection Association, MDR and the others had already received an unidentified file being freely circulated on the public channel in this area.

After downloading, it began to install automatically, following the same pattern as the unidentified files they had encountered before, although there were some minor changes, indicating upgrades.

Unfortunately, it was useless against Reno's team. They hadn't fallen for it from the start, so what if it was upgraded? It still had no effect.

And the one spreading this file was the communicator MDR had just brought over.

Obviously, Poryushkin didn't yet have the ability to control the city's communication tower at will, or perhaps he could, but for some reason, he chose not to use the previous large-scale dissemination method.

After all, this city was different from the previous small town where Griffin was almost the sole authority. Here, there was not only Griffin but also the Garrison and the Statesec, making it a completely different situation.

Starting trouble here would have no benefits after it escalated. The Security Bureau would show up soon enough, and the wealthy businessmen whose lives were threatened certainly wouldn't let it go.

"These are... the T-Dolls that Griffin lost a few days ago! Why are they here!? Are you the ones who stole Griffin's Dolls before!? Bringing them here now, are you trying to frame us!?" Seeing the four tactical Dolls placed beside Reno, the man couldn't help but imagine scenarios and stood up, accusing Reno vehemently.

"Huh? Do I need to frame you with this?! They were found in your basement. Do I need to frame you? Are you the leader here?" Pointing to the forty-five people behind the man, Reno scratched his chin behind the gas mask.

"No! But even if I'm not the branch president! I won't let your conspiracy succeed!" While speaking, he took two steps forward and stood in front of Reno, as if challenging him.

"Sigh, this fool, he's like someone who was sold and still counts the money for others. Oh, no signal." MDR tried several angles behind Reno and finally found a good position, avoiding the surrounding Dolls, to capture the man's actions separately.

Unfortunately, with the signal from the communication tower cut off, her phone naturally had no signal either.

Reno glanced back MDR, amazed that she could use the fingers of her exoskeleton to press the phone buttons quite easily and not afraid of smashing her phone...

Snap!

"Yikes! My phone!?" Seeing her phone broken into two pieces, MDR wailed miserably.

"Pfft!" Seeing this, the other T-Dolls standing beside her burst into laughter within their exoskeletons.

"Serves you right, why were you still recording at this time?" Reno said as he stood up, pushing the man aside. "Little boy, stop being silly here, go aside. Now, who's going to tell me what's going on with these Dolls?"

As he spoke, he took out a computer from behind the crying MDR and connected it to the Doll Rights Protection Association's communication terminal.

"Very well, it seems your Doll Rights Protection Association is quite formal. At least there's a complete list of personnel. Including the branch president, there are a total of fifty-five people. So, can the new member, Makayev, tell me where your president and branch president, as well as seven senior members, have gone?" Based on their observations during the day, there were fifty-six people active in the Doll Rights Protection Association's headquarters.

One more than their members, an outsider, who was very likely their target, Poryushkin.

Of course, the real controllers of the Doll Rights Protection Association were the nine people who went out. The ones left here, except for one supervisor, were all newcomers like Makayev.

Just as Makayev stood in front of Reno, condemning his actions, the supervisor among them remained silent, watching silently from the crowd.

After seeing this list, Reno directly beckoned CF05 to bring the four Dolls over, while he walked into the crowd and pulled out the cowering supervisor.

"What are you doing!?"

Seeing Reno directly pinching the supervisor's neck, lifting him up like a little piglet, Makayev immediately rushed forward.

"Get lost, don't talk to me, ignorant fool." Standing with his neck stretched out, and still determined not to yield, one might think he was some kind of battle hero who knew nothing.

"You!?"

Thud!

As Makayev approached with his neck stretched out, he was directly pushed down by Reno's slap, sitting down hard on the ground, and fell flat on his butt.

"Stop pretending to be dead. Tell me honestly, what did those guys go out to do? Otherwise, you won't want to know what will happen next." Patting the supervisor's back of the head, Reno squinted at him.

In his hand, he took out a data cable and began to remove the virus from the mental core of these unfortunate Griffin T-Dolls.

A-91, P90, NZ75, and an MP5, all high-level Dolls. Griffin's commander was really lucky, staying in such a safe city, and still having so many high-level Dolls...

It was just a waste of resources in that guy's hands.
