23 23. [Bonus chapter] Living in her assumptions

'He is glowing. Is he that flattered by what he's looking at on his phone?'

'There now, he's laughing and snickering at what he's seeing. Perhaps Jessica is his new girlfriend and he had loved Anna truly but not recently'

'Why am I even bothered about the woman he has in his life? It is none of my business'

'Come to think of it, he might actually be going on a business trip with Jessica. They will enjoy themselves and perhaps…no, they'll definitely get dirty since they are one.'

'Well, I'm happy for him. Anna has treated him so badly and finally, he found a woman that will take good care of his loving heart'

'All I need from him is just his helping hand to get the justice Anna deserves and after that, I might pursue my dream of being a police officer since this is my life now'

'And I'll forget that he ever existed. Yes, I will'

Anna's mind was busy as she looked away from George. Although she kept on telling herself that she shouldn't and didn't care about who he was talking to and what relationship George shared with Jessica, Anna just couldn't get the thought out of her head.

And this caused so many assumptions in her head. She began to wonder if George had proposed to Jessica.

'And why is this my business?!' Anna eventually scolded herself when she realized that she was worrying too much.

'I wasn't this affected by any man in my past life so why am I bothered about George's love life? Bitch, oh, bitch, get back to your senses!' Anna scolded herself once more.

'Since I don't care, I think I should ask him about Jessica. Even if we aren't real couples, I can accept George as my close friend, right?'

The truth was that Anna needed to feed her curiosity. She couldn't keep on living in her assumptions.

George finished what he wanted to do on his phone and dropped it in his pocket as he stood up.

Reminiscing what Jessica had said earlier, he shook his head with a smile.

George needed to feed Anna before Doctor Zhao arrived and he believed that Anna would soon feel the urge to sleep so she should quickly eat.

Anna had insisted that she wanted to eat out so he would be fulfilling her desire.

But Anna seemed to have been having false assumptions and when George heard that question, he couldn't hold it in. He had to burst into laughter.

Firstly, the serious look on Anna's face appeared funny to him and the question caused him to imagine himself with Jessica.

'Ewww, no!' George laughed inwardly.

After satisfying himself, he placed his hands on the arm of the chair and leaned closer to Anna.

Anna looked into his eyes without flinching.

'It would have been a real kiss earlier if Anna wanted me too' George recalled the moment Anna's lips brushed his because his face was literally close to hers.

"No, Jessica isn't my girlfriend," with a calm assuring smile on his face, after a moment of silence, George answered Anna's question.

Anna's eyebrows furrowed and she tilted her head to one side.

"You do care, don't you?" George asked, pushing back to walk to the back of her chair.

"Jessica made you so happy. You should have seen how your face twinkled when you smiled at her call and texts earlier," Anna said as George pushed her chair at a slow pace.

"She asked me out," George suddenly stopped the chair and brought his phone out. "Here is a picture of Jessica. Do you think she's a woman for me?" George asked, showing Anna the picture.

Anna glanced at George. "She's rich," was Anna's first statement. "But…she doesn't deserve a decent man like you, George," Anna said.

"That's right, Anna, and most of all I'm not in love with her and I'm not searching for a wife," George stated.

"How old are you, George?"

"I never told you my age?" George was surprised.

"Remind me," Anna said because she couldn't find it in Anna's memory.

"I'm Twenty-nine, darling," George answered.

"You are four years older than me," Anna uttered and turned her head to glance at him just to know George's reaction.

'Anna is twenty-five years old while I was twenty-six in my past life. Just one year difference'

"Yes, darling," George uttered and stayed quiet like Anna until they reached the parking garage.

Wei Yan had followed Master George so she could help. While George was getting his car, Wei Yan accompanied her Madam in the garden.

When George arrived, he carried Anna princess style while Anna tangled herself around George's upper body.

Wei Yan folded the wheelchair and placed it in the trunk.

"Have a good time, Madam," Wei Yan said to Madam through the window and looked at her boss. "And you too, Master," Wei Yan forced a smile.

Their departure will be the beginning of her torture by Zhu Jia. The punishment would eventually be served by Wei Yan but she was ready to take the punishment Zhu Jia was supposed to perform.

Anna watched as the car drove past the tall trees. It felt like she had been in darkness for too long and finally, she was given the freedom to see the light.

Anna lifted her hand and pushed it out of the window but soon, she retracted her hand because of her inability.

George watched Anna as she acted like a foreigner to most of the things she set her eyes on. He loved the atmosphere and turned on the radio.

A motivational song came up and while Anna was listening, she thought about her mission.

"Yes, no matter what they say and how many times I fall and how much mockery they make of me and the loneliness and the pain, and even if I breathe my last breath, it must be after I have served Anna, myself the justice I need."

George placed his hand on her naked thigh and stoked her skin. "We'll get there together," he uttered.

Anna glanced at him because his voice didn't sound assuring so her eyebrows creased and she looked down at her legs to see George caressing her skin.

"Really, Master George?"

"Do you feel better?" George asked.

"Yeah, and this moment appears to be an opportunity for you to touch my thigh. How desperate of you, George," Anna taunted.

George took his hand off Anna's thigh and looked away at the road. 'Why did you have to notice that, Anna? I just wanted to touch you'
