Arc 2- Chapter 8

*Starfire's Pov*

'You know, the storyline didn't really specify how annoying Shirley could be.'

[ How so, host?]

'In just one day of our cooperation, she has managed to attract 170 zombies towards us, and even though I enjoy killing those zombies, her screams are hurting my eardrums!'

[ Well, it is mostly because she thinks she can't go into her space, if not, she would have gone there to continue screaming]

'That reminds me, I packed a lot of those level 2 and 3 zombie nucleus because of her screams. I want to do something fun now~'

[ Host, don't go too far]

'When have I ever gone too far?~'

"Hey, Shirley, you have a space, right?" I asked smiling a little.

"Huh! How did you know?!" Shirley asked, fidgeting.

'Hey, Little que. I want you to get one of the most hideous looking zombie here right now'

[ Ok host but why? What are you planning?]

'You will see~'

"Don't worry about that. The person that took us sealed your power at first, it should have worn off by now, you can try to enter" I said with a serious expression.

[Host, like I said before, the way you form stories is really...]

'I know, I am too amazing~'

[...]

She looked delighted at the fact but quickly changed her expression to a caring one.

"What about you? Aren't you worried that I will leave you alone?" She asked in a careful tone.

"You can't, because even if you enter your space, you will still show up at this exact spot, you also can't defend against the zombies on your own and need me to take you back to the group" I said cutting down all her plans to escape without me.

She looked slightly disappointed when she realised everything was true, it seems she likes to be accompanied by a strong reliable guy than a girl, even if I am strong.

"No need, I will just stay with you, after all, we aren't in danger" She said, not wanting me to leave her alone to survive.

"Don't worry about that. I just want to see if my deduction is right" I said with a smile as I held Little que's hand.

"But still... Ahh!!" Shirley trailed off and screamed as she saw an hideous zombie coming towards her.

"Shirley, go into your space now for safety, I will take care of the zombie. Come out after one hour" I said calmly as she quickly obeyed.

"So that's what you wanted to do, you knew she might not go inside her space plus you wanted her to scream so as to attract zombies for you to play with!" Little que said as he looked at me with a thoughful gaze.

The hideous zombie Little que brought was an ordinary zombie, so it was very slow and also scared of our auras and moved away but because of Shirley's scream, a lot of zombies were starting to come towards us.

"Yes, you got most of it. Another reason is that I didn't want her screams to ruin my eardrum. Good job, Little que" I said as I patted his head warmly.

"Can you go back to your non-physical self? I want to practice a new skill with my power~" I said smiling as he nodded his head.

Little que's physical body disappeared and I smiled as I gathered a ball of fire unto my hand before dropping it on the floor.

I controlled the fire to form a circle and sent it all around me, it burned everything in the surrounding including the buildings, zombies, rubbish, and cars, and kept expanding, the only thing that didn't burn was the zombie nucleus. My fire was slightly different from other people's own because of the change in souls.

After 5 minutes, I gathered it back towards me and turned it back into one fireball before it disappeared.

"Wow! This place looks like a desert, apart from the concrete floor" Little que said as his physical body appeared again.

"I know, right? I love this method a lot, the disadvantage though is that I can't have people around me cause it would be more stressful to control where the fire touches" I said as I started picking up more of the zombie nucleus and putting them in the bag with the other zombie nucleus I collected before.

"With all this level 2 and 3 zombie nucleus, my parents will definitely forgive me for escaping~" I said with a chuckle as Little que just followed me.

"You have only spent 20 minutes, there is still 40 minutes before Shirley comes back, what do you want to do?" Little que asked looking at me with his cute sparkling eyes.

"Well, I still have some missions to complete which I can't do with my low level, I have to get to level 7 at least. I really have a lot of work to do" I said as I bent down and pinched his cheeks.

"Stop pinching my cheeks! Also, it will be better if you hunt more level 4 or level 5 zombies to upgrade" Little que's words came out mumbled because of his pinched cheeks.

"You are right! Help me look for a level 5 zombie, I want to level up directly especially when Shirley isn't here to annoy me. Plus, since I could fight that male level 7 zombie from before without dying, I should be able to take care of a level 5 especially with my skills" I said with a confident smile.

"Ok... There is a level 5 zombie that is heading here since you destroyed part of his territory" He said looking at me with a slightly accusing stare.

"Oops!~" I said and chuckled in amusement.

"Roar!" The level 5 female zombie roared as she faced me.

"Hi zombie, I didn't mean to anger you but I am happy that you are here to gift me your nucleus~" I said happily to the zombie as I gripped my sword.

The zombie seemed to understand me even with it's 3 year old brain and roared more angrily before charging at me.

I fought the zombie easily and sent some explosive fireballs at it.

I just needed to deliver a final blow since it was totally weakened but I still played with it.

The zombie seemed angry at the fact that I was playing with it and roared indignantly.

"You have 30 minutes more, as much as you love to play, I still think you should hurry up, you still have to absorb the nucleus after all" Little que said, rolling his eyes.

"Geez! Ok, ok. Sorry zombie, but our fun ends here" I said before stabbing it in the brain and digging out it's nucleus.

I used my fire to totally burn the zombie, not leaving any trace of it's existence. After that, I sat down and started absorbing the nucleus.

"Finally done! I have broken through to level 5. Little que, I can get some more zombies to kill~" I said happily as I kissed his forehead.

"Hey! Don't do that, I am the top system, not a little baby!" He said angrily as he pushed me away.

I chuckled lightly and nodded my head to please him as I smiled.

"Ok, whatever you say, my Little que~"

"Anyway, you spent so long absorbing the nucleus, Shirley will come out of her space now" He informed as Shirley appeared.

"Huh! Why does it seem like you have gotten stronger? And why is this place like this?" Shirley asked as she looked around.

"Probably your imagination~" I said, giving her a warm smile.

"Oh right! I hope you didn't have too much trouble dealing with those zombies?" She asked with a concerned gaze.

"There was no problem at all, let's get going" I said smiling as I started walking.

Shirley followed me totally oblivious to what happened.
