27 Decision-Making

[-In the main office of Master Wushu-]

Since Shams handed over the letters and parchments that were meant for Master Wushu, Feilong approached their master and confronted him regarding the invitation for the annual tournament.

While Master Wushu was on his seat doing over his daily documents to be finished, Feilong could no longer keep the issue regarding the invitation for the tournament.

"Master … Can we join this year for the annual school tournament?" Feilong made a plea to their master.

The newly promoted into {Apprentice-Rank} disciple, waiting for the reply of their master.

Ruh was currently assisting Master Wushu and he was nervous because no one has ever raised the issue about the annual school tournament.

Due to their fear towards their master, no one would dare open up the discussion.

"The answer is still the same Feilong … You should know why and I will not change my mind." A firm reply from Master Wushu.

"But master! It has been 5 years already. I cannot let a former disciple of this school run around and declare that our school has become weak." Feilong emotionally disclosed about a former disciple in the school of Master Wushu.

Unknown to Shams, there was a former disciple who has become a {Master-Ranked} on his right and made his own school.

This former disciple of Master Wushu established a new school and rumor has it that this former disciple claimed that the school of Master Wushu has become a ground for the weaklings.

Furthermore, Master Wushu has become weaker through the years. For this reason, the school of Master Wushu has no longer accepted the invitation for the annual school tournament.

Despite the numbers of dojos and schools all over the territory of Golden Dragon Sect, only few were sent an invitation to even participate the most-awaited event yearly amongst the school events within the Golden Dragon Sect.

"Feilong … My answer is still the same and why should we be affected by false rumors. We will not stoop down to their level. I do not want to hear this from you or from anyone else. Just go back to your tasks and training." A serious tone from Master Wushu's voice.

He watched Feilong storm out of his office.

And he heaved a sigh for this sensitive issue.

Though, the real reasons for Master Wushu for not attending the annual tournament were,

[1] Avoid gaining further attention from the ministers of Golden Dragon Sect. The ministers of the Golden Dragon Sect usually sought favor from Master Wushu once upon a time. Since the annihilation of the 'Noble Wolf Clan', Master Wushu wanted to keep a low-key and away from the limelight.

[2] The wonders that Shams may exhibit could cause complications such as the possibility of his real origins to be discovered.

[3] Lastly, he does not want his disciples to become targets of the noble families and maybe poached for recruits. Just like what happened to his former disciple.

Greed for power is a poisonous carnal desire of humans. It can cause them to lose their old self.

Meanwhile,

On the other side …

[-In the library-]

Shams became silent and pondered on the realization that he is currently learning and being taught by the best among the best already.

'This could even be my chance to have a serious battle and have a legitimate venue not to be bothered with the rules of Master Wushu. Imagine the opportunity I will have in proving myself and becoming stronger once again.'

A burning desire was painted all over the face of Shams.

Even other disciples were curious whether they will be attending this year or not.

"Can you still remember those days, Hawks?" Maya asked Hawks pertaining to those yeards where they would witness the great tournament between schools and matches of strong cultivators.

From Maya's question, it also sparked a desire for Hawks to participate as well.

"Who can forget those days? Witnessing for the first time … great battles and powerful cultivators showcase their own techniques and abilities." Hawks replied to Maya's question.

Others listened to Hawks and Maya mention about the heydays of the school of Master Wushu.

Including Shams, became fascinated by the mentions and narration of Hawks and Maya during those days.

When Feilong passed by the hallway along the library, one of the disciples asked their most senior if they will be attending this year's tournament.

"Feilong, are we joining this year's tournament?"

A negative look was obvious on Feilong's expression.

"Unfortunately, we will not! Master Wushu would not permit it." Feilong replied.

"Another invitation wasted, you mean?"

"Yeah, I am planning to throw this invitation to the trash." Feilong showed the invitation on his hand.

Planning to throw it.

As soon as Shams heard that,

[1] Not attending tournament.

[2] Master Wushu would not permit the participation.

[3] The invitation will be wasted once more.

There was something within him just materialized.

Billy discreetly took Maya's attention and gestured on Shams' direction.

It was a scene that a plot was already established by Shams.

====================

Moments after their time in the library.

Everyone headed out to the second floor … Except for Shams!

A while ago, the youngest disciple listened to the footsteps of Feilong and focused on the directions of their most-senior. Then, he listened carefully to the sound of letter envelope thrown to the trash and the metal bin being closed.

His senses became extra-ordinarily sharp compared to others.

Instead of going with the other disciples, he went to pick up the invitation letter and planned something else.

After successfully getting the invitation letter, he went somewhere discreet and opened it by himself.

Just in few seconds after opening the letter.

"What it says, Ryoku?" said by the familiar voice.

He turned around and saw Hawks, Maya, Rankuza and Billy.

"You really think you can get away doing something sketchy without us knowing. We know you too much already, Shortie!" Billy declared to Shams who was not looking happy at their sight.

"Before anything else … What are you planning, little monster? Tell us or we will tell Master Wushu that you are scheming for something because you will not take that invitation letter if you are not planning something. So, spill!" Hawks warned Shams.

There was nothing Shams could do but to compromise.

"Fine! I plan for the school to join the tournament. Through sending an affirmative reply to the organizing committee."
