Appearance of Great Disaster

"I got it...You passed, human. You have shown calmness even when your best friend attacked you and you never had any thoughts of killing him. It was clear that you knew the easiest way to safely pass the trial but you still cherished your life even though it was an illusion. Your case just momentarily surprised me since no one before you resisted without attacking back or getting exhausted for so long that their soul started becoming unstable." The spirit's voice resounded in his mind after a while of being stared at by it.

"Oh? I see...what happens now?" Meng asked with a pleased smile but his weak reaction wasn't exactly the one phoenix spirit was expecting.

"I will grant you 1 drop of Phoenix's blood, Divine Phoenix Pellet that will increase your profound strength after fusing with Phoenix's blood, and then you will be allowed to have a chance to study the [World Ode of the Phoenix]"

"Right now, I shall bestow upon you the Phoenix bloodline." The spirit said and Meng noticed a golden light in a pitch-black space.

"Wait please!" Meng quickly interrupted what it was about to do.

"Hm? What is it human?" Phoenix Spirit was confused by his interruption since other people would like to absorb the blood as fast as possible.

"Well, you see phoenix spirit...Is it possible to get this blood in a jade bottle or something like that?" Meng asked while sweating a little bit, avoiding eye contact while scratching his cheek with his index finger.

"What? But I need to oversee the process for you to successfully fuse with the blood, why would you want to wait? Also, I have been meaning to ask you something. Those profound techniques you have shown, what is its name and where did you learn it?" Spirit asked with a surprised tone.

"Those 2 profound skills I used during the second trial are actually part of one profound skill set...Don't laugh please, I am really bad at naming but its name is 7 Moves of Ferocious Sun. As for why I don't want to fuse with the blood is...Haha, I guess I am too proud and don't want to "taint" my pure human bloodline. I no longer have my parents so all I can do for them is to carry on their pure bloodline."

This was the first time Phoenix Spirit felt like coughing up blood, a human didn't want Phoenix's blood to "taint" his bloodline...What is that?!

"...Wait, did you say you named that technique? Also, 7 moves...you have performed only 2."

"Eh...I guess I slipped up. Yeah, it's a technique I created to suit my fighting style but I can only perform 3 moves since I am too weak to even try the other 4 moves. I have just created them based on what hypothetically should be possible to create but it's possible that one of the moves will be impossible to perform, haha" Meng decided to come out and honestly answer since he already slipped by saying that he named it.

Meng saw the golden eyes in front of him blink numerous times and he was wondering what was the spirit doing but he had no idea the spirit's entire world started to spin, feeling a bit ill. A technique created by a weak human was possibly comparable in terms of power to [World Ode of the Phoenix]

"Ugh, if you won't absorb the blood, Divine Phoenix Pellet will only help you with your control of the flames and won't increase your profound strength. Also, I can't let you take that drop of blood from these trial grounds and let it fall into wrong hands." The spirit grunted and said.

"I understand all of that but I have never said that I don't have a use for the blood of a divine being such as Phoenix. Phoenix Spirit, can you please create an enormous cauldron or large hole in the ground where I can pour thousands of liters of a liquid?" Meng said with a smile.

Phoenix Spirit was a bit confused but it was also intrigued and helped with Meng's request by transporting them to the second trial and by creating a large hole inside the flat ground.

'It is time for me to try it...Previously I only had the blood of the Elementary Profound Beasts, this time I have bodies of True and even Spirit profound beasts' Meng thought and turned towards the golden eyes closely observing him.

"I apologize for possible display of cruelty, in case Phoenix spirit wants me to stop, I will naturally stop." Meng bowed and his words slightly puzzled the spirit, making it tense however when Meng started taking profound beasts' bodies out of his inventory and filling the hole with their blood, the spirit's eyes narrowed, however, it was more curious than thinking of this as a display of cruelty. Some humans might found what he was doing quite disturbing but definitely not Phoenix Spirit. Those beasts were already dead and humans simply use them as materials.

When Meng was done with filling the hole to the edges with the blood, his nostrils were immediately attacked by the stench but among that stench, he also felt rich life essence.

"Phoenix Spirit, may I get that one drop of Phoenix's blood?" Meng asked as he was slowly taking his clothes off.

"?! You don't mean to drop the blood of Phoenix into a pit filled with the blood of such weak profound beasts, right?!" Even Phoenix spirit lost its composure after discovering what Meng was intending to do with Phoenix's blood.

"I have passed the trial, or not? Please throw that drop of blood into that pool of blood." Meng said, after all, that drop of blood should be already his since he passed the trial.

Phoenix spirit reluctantly put the drop of blood into the pool and Meng noticed something.

'...Are those tears? Am I really that cruel?' Meng thought while looking at the golden eyes from the corner of his eyes and saw them getting moist when the blood dropped down into the pool.

When half-naked Meng was observing the golden eyes, he noticed changes inside the pool of blood, the dark red colored blood of the beasts changed to fiery crimson-colored blood and the foul stench he felt completely disappeared and the only thing he could feel from the pool of blood was revitalizing a large amount of life essence.

'Just one drop of blood of a divine being!!! With this...' Meng gulped down his saliva while staring at the pool of blood.

[Host, please be careful and prepare yourself] Vista warned him which was something that rarely happened.

Meng quickly consumed Recovery Pill despite having his energy almost fully recovered before he jumped down to the pool of blood

It took Meng whole 5 days to absorb the life essence from the blood but this time, the blood was gradually disappearing during the process until not even a drop remained. Witnessing the entire process, Phoenix spirit was conflicted about what to think of this as it looked a lot like some kind of cultivation arts that would be used by Devil Race.

*BOOM!* When Meng opened his eyes after those 5 days of absorbing the life essence from the blood, a loud thunder resounded inside the trial grounds which even alerted Phoenix spirit. Meng felt that his lifespan increased by at least 150 years.

Meng jumped out of the pit on the flat crimson ground but he was completely ignoring Phoenix spirit and kept staring at the crimson sky of this dimension. Suddenly a tear appeared in the crimson sky and a pitch-black figure without a face or any distinguishing features walked out of the tear in the sky before the tear got sealed.

"?! What is that being?! I couldn't feel it entering my dimension neither can I reject it and throw it out!" Phoenix spirit's golden eyes widened and a voice inside Meng's mind sounded quite panicked.

Meng released a smile that could be described as slightly crazy considering the danger he was in right now.

"That's...Physique Devil, born from the Physique Tribulation. It came to devour my flesh." Meng replied with a smile.

"Physique Devil?!"

"May I request Phoenix spirit to change the environment to one suitable for a long battle? I doubt this will end within a few hours..." Meng asked with a helpless smile as he felt the pressure radiating from the Physique Devil standing still in the sky.

Phoenix spirit did as Meng requested and even the spirit was capable of feeling the pressure radiating from the Physique Devil. To the spirit, it felt as if this Physique Devil was a large mountain within a small human-like figure.

'In general, this Physique Devil's silhouette looks similar to that human's...Their height is completely the same and even its pitch-black hair looks the same as that human's hair.' Phoenix spirit thought and had no idea what to do in this situation...In the end, remembering that it is Meng's Physique Tribulation, spirit decided to just quietly watch. The spirit was aware that Meng had a very strange Physique that granted him great strength and toughness but the spirit also noticed that it greatly limited his speed.

'...If I am to compare the pressure each one's physique gives out, the Physique Devil's body is much stronger than that human's body. I wonder if this human will be able to survive this encounter. I have never seen a more bizarre human before in all those years I have been taking care of these Trial Grounds.' Phoenix spirit thought while focusing its eyes on the upcoming probably most destructive battle that these trial grounds ever witnessed.
