8 It's the worse

"What is the matter? Did something happen?" Mi Jo asked seeing her friend happy all of a sudden. She was starting to wonder if Mi Soo had a bipolar disorder because one minute she is sad and the next she is happy like a donkey.

"Do you think my parents know that I'm still alive? Maybe she went there and I came here. If that's the case then I'm sure they wouldn't have missed me too much..." she kept talking but Mi Jo did not understand a single word she said.

"You see, mother has a terminal illness. I wouldn't want to make her worry." she looked up at Mi Jo with a bright smile.

Just then, a series of flashy cars passed the bridge. It seemed as though an important person was passing but Mi Soo couldn't care less and didn't even notice it.

Mi Jo's brow furrowed. She immediately flipped Mi Soo over so that she would have her back facing the road.

"Huh? Did something happen?" she could clearly see the worry on Mi Jo's face and wanted to look back but her friend stopped her.

"Um, you were saying something. What was it?" she asked diverting her attention. Mi Soo continued talking but Mi Jo paid no attention. 'What is he doing here? Why did he come back now?'

"Uh... What is this?" Mi Soo looked at her nose and realized that it was snowing. Her eyes lit up seeing that she came out at the right time. She had always liked the snow and back then in province S, her mother would always warn her against staying under the snow because of how cold the winter season could be.

She raised her hand and smiled as the snow frost fell on them. Mi Jo who was still focused on the cars that had passed turned to look at her friend.

Mi Soo was smiling even with her eyes and she looked beautiful and gave off a different vibe. Because of how brightly she smiled, even Mi Jo began to smile. Indeed, a genuine smile is contagious.

"You shouldn't stay under the snow for too long." Mi Jo stated but Mi Soo didn't even hear her and asked something different.

"Is this the first snow?" she looked at her enthusiastically and Mi Jo nodded. Indeed it was the first snow but she had never seen her friend so happy to see the first snow. Seems there is always a first time for everything.

"Why don't we get some coffee? You just left the hospital and normally, you shouldn't even be out yet," she suggested trying to take Mi Soo away from the bridge as soon as possible. She wasn't sure if the man in that car saw her but she wasn't willing to take any chances.

Mi Soo wanted to stay a little longer but she didn't want to go to the hospital again so she settled for the latter.

They got into Mi Jo's car and drove off to a coffee place.

In his car, Park Seo Joon had his brow furrowed as he scrolled through his iPad. He was working on a new project in Korea and that was the only reason for his return.

"Sir, the meeting with the Pure-Riff co got pushed back because of some issues but I believe they would be ready by Monday." his secretary and friend, Han Taeyoung explained as they drove.

Seo Joon looked up and sighed. "Tell them they have only till two days. I don't have the time to waste." he had a cold expression and seemed extremely principled.

Han Taeyoung couldn't say anything and just shook his head. He didn't even know why he bothered to tell him when he knew what Park Seo Joon's response would be.

They drove home to ClearWoods estate. His family owned the estate and the staff already knew that he returned today.

"Welcome sir." they created but he just passed by then without saying a word. His cold gaze was scary but the female staff couldn't help but ogle at him.

He was like an alluring devil who no one could resist. Dangerously breathtaking.

Sigh. "You will be having a meeting with the board tomorrow by ten in the morning and..." Taeyoung was still talking when Seo Joon raised his hand to stop him.

"Make it nine. We have a lot to discuss. Oh and remember to tell them to forget their positions if anyone is a minute late." he said this with a straight face and Taeyoung felt goosebumps for a second.

Sigh... "Then lunch with Mr Park. You haven't spoken to him for a week now and he doesn't even know about your return to Korea."

"Visit... I'll be going back soon so it's just a visit." Seo Joon corrected as he sipped the coffee in front of him.

"Ah... Yes." he smiled awkwardly wondering how he became friends with such a person. Taeyoung was about to continue when he saw the confused look on Seo Joon's face.

"What's the matter?" Seo Joon was holding the coffee mug and looked like he was trying to figure out the taste. He looked at Han Taeyoung who looked equally confused.

"Where did this coffee come from?" he as with his brow slightly raised. Taeyoung was not sure so he asked the staff beside him.

"Where did the coffee come from?" he whispered and the lady pointed to the kitchen.

"From the kitchen. We made the coffee here," she assured wondering if she was going to be in trouble because she made the coffee herself.

Seo Joon shook his head. "No that. Who is the manufacturer? What's the name of the company that manufactures this coffee?"

She looked confused then spoke. "Pure-Coffee co. It's the best coffee company in South Korea," she explained.

Park Seo Joon looked at the coffee again. "Why? Does it taste bad?" Han Taeyoung asked and he shrugged.

"Not bad. It's the worse." even after saying this, he didn't put it down and drank it to the last drop. Taeyoung could not understand him sometimes. He just said this coffee was the worse yet he drank the whole thing.

"Why are you staring at me? I just don't want it to go to waste." he made an excuse and then asked his secretary to continue with the schedule.

After a long journey, Park Seo Joon didn't rest even for a minute and wanted to go through the files for tomorrow's meeting. This was one of the reasons Taeyoung hated working for him.

After their long time together, Seo Joon went to bed and secretary Han also stayed in the guest room for the night.

He tossed and turned in bed but couldn't find a comfortable spot. He soon got out of bed and went to the kitchen. After scurrying around, he found the coffee from before and brewed it.

On the pack, the logo of Pure-Riff Co was resting there but he failed to recognize it.
