Xue Bai didn't plan on bringing Xiao'er with him this time. So after telling her his plans and pushing away Xiao'er, who was crying her eyes out, he was off.

Xiao'er was still only at the 4th stage of the Organ Tempering Realm, and while that was alright for a Southern Continent Genius, Xue Bai knew there was a lot of room for improvement.

So before he left, he told her that if she managed to break through two more stages before he returned, he would give her a reward when he came back. And she, of course, accepted the deal, but still saddened about the fact that Xue Bai was leaving her, she cried for a few minutes before letting him go.

Xue Bai also bid Ye Rou farewell, but since the two weren't too close, the goodbye didn't last long. He also wanted to go to Jiang Xiaorou's peak and do the same, but after remembering their first encounter, he gave up on the idea.
