The old deity casually reminded Scarlet of a fact that she knew all too well. She recalled the story about grim reapers, children, deities, betrayal of humans and so on. 

Her hands that were already on her abdomen moved to wrap her entire upper body in a defensive mode. She suddenly felt sick, as if a fever had invaded her body and settled inside her like a parasite. 

Why was it suddenly cold? she wondered.

"Stop it Carnelia." she heard the old deity order the fire goddess. 

When Scarlet turned her trembling gaze on to the fire goddess, it was then that she noticed what she was doing. she was playing with clouds and sending a chill her way.

"This is why we left you out, you can't tell when it's time to play or when it's time to mean serious business." Lythia told her.
