Keepers of tradition

Folsom's question was a heavy one that neither Esong nor Markay could provide an answer to. Both of them were sons of the same noble family. It was not just any common or average noble family but a royal one!!

They were the keepers of tradition, the ones who reproached and punished those that insulted their culture. So, how could they divert from it so much? Tradition was not something that was easily broken simply because one wished to. 

Ian, Cedric and Jacks were not from noble families so this issue was of no importance to them. They could laugh and giggle but they would not understand. 

On the surface, Folsom had presented the question lightly but it was a deeper issue than they all let on.
