3 CHAPTER 3: HYPERMARKET SYSTEM

Alayna checked on the mission bar and found just one mission that she failed to understand repeatedly.

[Main Mission: Sell one serving of food in one week.]

The thing is, Alayna didn't even have anything to sell. She couldn't possibly sell her chicken or her food. That was impossible. Did this system want her to open her own supermarket or what?

She was so confused and didn't know what to do at this stage and she just wanted someone to help her clarify. While she was having a battle of wits with herself, the system made another ding that made her thrilled.

[The host can check the FAQ for more information.]

Her problem was solved immediately and she was happy. It seems that next time when she has questions, she was going to ask rather than get stressed.

She opened the FAQ and surely all of her answers were there. This was a hypermarket system and it was a system that dealt with supermarkets, providing goods and services to the people.

To be honest she didn't even think that of all systems she will be given one that requires her to sell anything. But a beggar couldn't be a chooser, right?

Her job was to sell whatever the system provides, the supermarket will level up, she will level up, and also get rewarded. She was more of a boss and her job wasn't that hard.

Alayna didn't feel any despair as selling goods shouldn't be difficult to do right?

However, something caught her eyes that made her see that she had celebrated a bit too early. The system will provide her with the exact location for the first store and she wasn't allowed to do any advertisement.

If she fails the first mission, the system will automatically be unbound with her and she didn't want that. This time she was very scared but she also knows that things couldn't be forced.

She didn't want to lose something that she had been dying to get for her entire life because she wasn't able to sell one serving of food.

For the first time in her life, Alayna felt that she has something important to do and she didn't want to mess it up. She didn't even have a talent in cultivation and she toiled for decades to just end up having her spirit roots cut out and thrown into a forest for the beasts to feast on her.

As she had not accepted the mission, Alayna would not know where the store will be placed. She first wanted to go to the town to buy some clothes and some food.

It will be hateful if the silver vanishes before she can use it after failing a mission.

Early in the morning, Alayna took a bath and changed into one of her best cheap clothes, and headed for the town. She ate some chicken on the way.

When she arrived in the town, the place was bustling and she couldn't help but feel happy seeing so many people. Living in the forest made her more of a hermit and she didn't have any friends so her life was very lonely.

Alayna didn't dilly dally in the town and bought everything that she had listed down. The first thing on her list was clothes, quilts, grains, and pots. She bought a lot of it and didn't even hire a carriage to take her home. How was she supposed to explain herself about where she lived?

As she had the inventory space, she stored everything there and returned back to her forest when she was done.

With new things and a lot of food, she didn't need to fear starving to death anymore and her mood was no longer complex.

On this day at night, Alayna cooked a pot of white rice with some meat and filled herself with a lot of good food. Even her dreams on this night were very fulfilling as the quilts were enough and the stone bed wasn't that hard anymore.

The next morning, Alayna woke up and clicked on the mission first to initiate it. It wasn't wise to keep on delaying these things, the sooner she starts receiving more benefits.

[As the host has initiated the mission, the store address has been located. The store has been built and the host can now go and officially start the business.]

Hearing this she sighed; she didn't know where the store was but she was going to find out. She looked at the 3D map and nearly cried.

Who opened stores in forests nowadays? Was this system trying to kill her and make her fail?

She felt as if someone was playing a huge prank on her and it wasn't very funny at all. Alayna dejectedly bathed first ate her food and began to walk towards the location of the store.

It took her around ten minutes to reach the place and there in front of her was a small tuck-shop. It wasn't the supermarket that she was expecting but at least it was something.

She went there and found the fingerprint door lock, something that didn't even match with the tuck-shop. As someone from the modern world, she didn't need to be taught so she placed her fingerprint and the door opened.

Inside the tuck-shop, there wasn't anything fancy. There was only one transparent bowl with familiar steamed buns in it. And on the side, there were jugs of water, roughly around 330ml if she were to compare it with the modern bottles.

These were the only two things in the tuck-shop and she wondered how she was supposed to sell these two things without advertising them?

She was in the Dark Forest and unless someone was crazy and desperate like her, the forest didn't get any visitors. So, who would even come and buy anything from her?

Alayna wanted to cry but she didn't even have tears to shed at this moment. Since there was nothing that could be done or changed at this stage, she sat down on the chair inside the tuck-shop and opened her system panel to check more information.

At least while she waits for someone to stumble his or her way to her tuck-shop, she was going to read more on the system, so that in the future she won't be confused or be lacking. Knowledge was the power after all.
