22 Chapter 22

A nurse in a private intensive care unit rushed to the nursing station, speaking loudly.

"Call Doctor Benward, the boy in room 13 has signs of movement."

The news had got the station buzzing. "Be prepared to perform the EEG on the patient. Jean, reach out to his family."

The head nurse gave instructions while rushing to room 13.

Over the past year, she and her co-workers had a genuine concern for the boy. Every time they entered his room, their maternal instincts came out enormously.

Inside the room, the boy turned his head to the right and left, he could neither see nor speak, and fear increased within him.

The chief nurse saw his hustle, took the tapes from his eyes and said. "Hold on; we'll get that tube out of your throat soon."

After seeing the nurse and overhearing this, the boy relaxed.

The series of testing began, and the result came out normal.

"What a miracle. I never saw one wake up after one year of comatose state in my 30 years of practice."

Dr Benwards said emotionally. "Her family is truly fortunate."

In Lohrasb Manor, a woman's cry resounded throughout the house. Kathy was tremulously excited. Recently, she had lost any hope of seeing Kaveh awake. She was pondering about letting him go and accepting reality. That phone call changed everything. She happily skipped through the stairs.

In Edwin's room, Noah noticed the strange video on the screen. As his curiosity improved, he put his finger on the mouse to click on it, but the door opened with force.

Kathy stormed into the room shouting.

" Edwin, the hospital called. Kaveh is going to wake up shortly. Let's go," having said that, she left the room hurriedly.

Dena was still in bed, puzzled over Noah's changing appearance as this new storm arrived.

'What's going on here? Am I actually in the book? Kaveh is not expected to wake up for two months. I'm in trouble with the way events have been taking place so far.'

These changes drove her crazy.

Across from the bed, Noah shook his head regretfully. 'To miss this opportunity to watch Edwin's video, Ah!!' He was genuinely unlucky.

He got up and said.

"Aren't you glad your brother's awake? What's with that long face?"

Dena's eyes narrowed down. " Don't think you could get away from it. You have to give me an explanation. Once things calm down, we need to talk about it."

Noah smiled helplessly. " okay, I promise you."

Dena quickly dressed and walked into the living room, where Kathy and Rojina anxiously awaited her.

Upon arrival at the hospital, Edwin's father joined them. Even though Viguen Lohrasb spent the night in the company, he knew that the additional boy was the rumoured boyfriend. He set aside his eldest son from his plans. So this news hadn't stirred him up. He only glanced at Noah and then went to his wife, embracing her affectionately.

"Sweetie, let's go check on our son."

Kathy had goosebumps from his tone. She was on the end of her rope to keep this facade going. She marched faster into Kaveh's room.

She heard some hoarse yelling from the room.

" Let me go!!! I must go into the jungle; my brother is in danger."

Kaveh struggled with the nursing staff.

"Ah! How could he be so strong without using his muscles for a year? Hurry up, inject the sedative."

A dishevelled nurse complained.

Dena, without thinking, rushed to Kaveh and took him in her arms, which stopped all the commotion in the room.

"Hey, calm down; you can see I'm right here. That was some time ago, and you saved me."

Dena spoke the words and breathed a sigh of relief. She looked at the head of fuzzy hair on her chest; Dena knew the feeling didn't come from her. 'Does Edwin's feelings still exist? Or is it possibly the wolf? '

" Are you better now? Mother, Father and Rojina are here too."

Dena asked the boy carefully. Kaveh mumbled. "Who??"

Kathy approached them in tears. " my son... Is my son okay? I thought I would never see you opening your eyes again..."

Kaveh stared at the woman. " who are you? I am an orphan. I just got my older brother."

His phrases led to silence in the room. Kathy lost her mind and seized his shoulders with fury. " how come you forget only us? Look at me! I brought you into this world!"

Her aggressive behaviour scared even Dena.

Viguen seized her as he told the nurse. "Give her something; she couldn't handle the shock."

Throughout this chaotic scene, Noah observed from beginning to end the little girl's reaction to all this. Her lack of response was somewhat disturbing. He remembered his classes on witches. It described them as introverted and emotionally unstable races that would manifest randomly and become dangerous to their families and the people around them.

This bomb was staring at Edwin with hate in her eyes. " Why? Why is it Edwin again?" she muttered to herself. Noah sneaked up from behind. He was ready to knock her down anytime.

Meanwhile, Dena felt a chill in her spine. Her instincts screamed Danger was near. However, Kaveh was the one who acted before them.

He raised his head and locked eyes with Rojina from the angle no one could see. Rojina's small body trembled at the tremendous pressure she was feeling. Every second, it got more unbearable, which caused her to flee the room. Kaveh put his head back on Edwin's chest smiling. ' Oh, Rojina, this is just the tip of the iceberg. I shall give you back twice the misery you have inflicted on me.'

He could not believe that the Gods had heard his prayers and was given another chance to start over. His biggest regret was his brother. In his previous life, Edwin constantly warned him to be wary of these people, but the brainwashing of his family made him doubt his brother's motive. He shunned Edwin from his life. Instead, He was auctioned off by his dad, abandoned by his mom and conspired by his witch sister.
