4 Catalyst

Noah thought this handsome stranger was weird, sometimes, he had a sharp mouth and was attentive, but sometimes he got quiet and daydreamed. He better not get involved with this person anymore. Hence he patted his back and said.

"If you are busy, forget about it. I am sincerely thankful for your help. I'm not taking any more of your time. Bye."

Noah turned around to escape, but a mighty hand grabbed his wrist.

"wait, I am sorry, I had something on my mind. Could we grab something to eat? I'm a little hungry."

Noah was speechless. He was just courteous, and he was utterly insincere! He thought he might be short on money to accept the offer.

"All right, let's go; I know a good place not far from here".

Dena was excited to hear his positive response. She wanted to ensure she was in the body of the male lead in the book. They went into a parking garage at the mall. Noah stood by a luxury car, and a big man in a black suit opened the door; Dena was surprised to see it. In the book, Noah never told Mason that he was a wealthy second generation from an influential family. The side story hinted at it, but the author didn't describe Noah's family clearly.

Dena had a bad premonition. 'What if Noah wasn't the sweet, kind, and caring mate but a black belly and scheming guy? Wait a minute; is this Noah before or after the transmigration? What was the personality of the original Noah?? Why didn't she feel any connection with him? The book dedicated one chapter to their first encounter and how it was magical. How come she couldn't feel it? Because she was not the original owner? In her previous life, as a woman, she was straight. So seeing Noah, there should be some spark? Shouldn't be? '

All of a sudden, she had a headache and dizziness. She fainted again.

Noah was dumbfounded. He went to get in the car but heard a thud sound from his back. The stranger was lying on the ground. Noah sighed and beckoned to the bodyguard to take him to the car. That was an exhausting day for him.

In the car, there was a sound coming out of Edwin's pocket. Noah grabbed the mobile phone and put it on mute.

He watched the boy's face. He had long eyelashes, arched eyebrows, and strong jawbones. He was a face con and liked to conquer beauties. But before he approached them, he obtained a background check on them, and after making a plan, he got close to them. What was so different about this boy? He didn't need to chase him to the mall to buy a shirt. It was customary to ask his assistant to find his information. Now that he was with him in the car, he didn't want to let him go unless he was satisfied.

Dena opened her eyes with difficulty, and the first thing she saw was a beautiful chin and mouth. She blinked and was embarrassed to find herself lying her head in Noah's lap. She tried to get up, but a hand pushed her down.

"Do not move; we will soon arrive at the hospital; you bumped your head against the ground."

Dena was terrified. The sequence of events was unchanged from yesterday. So she's dying again tonight?

Noah sensed the change in the boy's body and face.

"What happened? Where do you feel pain? "

Dena grabbed Noah's hand abruptly. The warmth of his hand somewhat soothed her. She had Noah, who was the catalyst for the male lead.

They finally made it to a hospital. In the E.R., they asked his name, and Dena was concerned about the character she was supposed to give them. After pondering, she went with Edwin. She couldn't find a reason for the male lead to hide his name from Noah.

She didn't see the light that flashed in Noah's eyes momentarily.

After a CT scan and a few tests, they were told everything was fine, but she should stay at the hospital for observation tonight. Dena lay in bed. She couldn't figure out how to get Noah to stay with her.

"Won't you notify your family?"

Noah probed into his reaction.

Dena became tense. She found his phone so she could see a lot of missed calls from Edwin's parents. She dialled back, and a loud sound was cursing her after connecting.

"Where the hell are you? What's the matter with you? Did you know we search everywhere for you? " Edwin's mother was furious.

" Sorry, I am at my friend's house; I lost track of time. I will come back tomorrow."

After saying that, she hung up.

Noah raised his eyebrow in suspicion. Dena looked at him with guilt.

"If they know I am in a hospital, they'd make a big deal. It's better this way. Could you please stay with me? I don't want to be on my own. I'll make this up to you."

Dena made the plea with puppy eyes.

Noah admitted defeat and nodded. He couldn't resist this boy at all.

Dena was secretly happy. She didn't want to experience that pain again. The painkillers appeared to be working, and she went to sleep.

Noah was reporting to the organisation about his delay. When he raised his head, he noticed Edwin's sleepy face.

'What the heck? How could that boy trust strangers? Why was he so quick to let his guard down? Did he have any sense of danger at all? '

He shook his head disapprovingly. Maybe there was something wrong with him. He had seen too many dark sides of people and became judgmental about everything. In his previous life, he was a mediocre actor. He was brought up with difficulty by his single mother. He did not know who his father was, which led to insecurity and a lack of self-esteem, and he became the best prey for bullying. He was gloomy and pessimistic about anything. He was terrible at studying and sports despite trying to change it. However, his mother's death was the last straw that broke the camel's back. When he became an orphan, everyone showed their true colours. His mother was a kind and gentle person who was not good at confrontation, and many people, including family and friends, took advantage of her. She worked in an office, and her income was not so bad. She'd have her own home alone, but those leeches swallowed her money like water. When she died in an accident, nobody wanted to get his custody, so he went to foster care for two years, and during that time, he learned how to mask his emotions and found out he has a knack for acting. First, he broke ties properly with these people and then entered the entertainment industry. There was an elder who showed him the ropes of the industry. He did not enjoy being in the limelight because he knew human nature too well. They would do anything to bring down their rivals. He had a great life after that; the only drawback was that he couldn't connect with anyone. As far as he was concerned, it didn't matter if the person was a man or a woman. He was not a virgin either, but he had felt this massive void within himself that one day he had lost the will to live. Just like that, he was reborn in this world. He belonged to a strong family, but they considered their children to be tools. His ability was checked when he was seven, and his aptitude was determined to be transformative. He learned everything to become a spy for his family. He was pleased that this world contained magic until he left their territory for the first time and discovered they were exceptional. Most people were ordinary and weak. Yet, there were underground organisations and mythical creatures. It was better than his last world.

Noah turned around and left the bedroom. He called his secretary to take a background check on Edwin. His name sounded familiar. He was sure he heard that before.

Noah wondered if he should go or stay in this city when he felt some fluctuations in the magic flow around him. He became alert and hid in a corner. He was surprised to see a little girl wandering in a hospital alone. She moved very slowly and stood in front of Edwin's door. Noah emerged from hiding and told the little girl.

"Are you lost? "

She didn't say anything. He made sure she wasn't normal. He activated his eyes, and sure, she was a witch. His contact lenses weren't for show. He took the mana block balls out of his pockets and threw them at her. She wasn't able to dodge in time. Contact with her, and she could not use magic for several minutes. Noah snuck up on her and knocked her unconscious.
