5 Chapter 05

After researching for about three hours, I closed my laptop and see if Kiyoko has already woken up from her sleep. After hearing a light snore from her bed, I go out and try familiarizing myself with my new place. Miyagi in August is still a bit hot. But compared to Tokyo's temperature, I think I prefer to live in Miyagi. After a little walk, I decide to buy something for dinner. Better shopping tomorrow after moving out to our new home rather than buying everything today just to bring it to the new place in the next day, I thought.

After fifteen minutes of walking, I found a small family restaurant that reminds me of the place of my first job in my previous life. When I come into the restaurant, I can smell a lot of fresh food coming from the kitchen. After looking at the menu for a while, I choose to take two pork ramen to go home for the dinner. I am glad that Kiyoko is not picky and doesn't have ant have any allergies.

After arriving home, I smile a bit after seeing Kiyoko trying to do the chores to keep the apartment clean.

"Hey Kiyo-chan, how is your sleep?" She looks at me and smiles,

"It is wonderful, thank you. Where did you go? You should wake me up if you want to go out, I can give you a tour."

"Nah, no need to worry. I just want to familiarize myself with the new environment. Oh, I get us two pork ramen for the dinner. Is that okay for you?"

"It is okay for me. Do you want me to prepare it?"

"it would be great, thanks Kiyo-chan."

"No problem."

While she is preparing for dinner, I remember that I have to talk about her inheritance.

"Hey Kiyo-chan, I have already read the inheritance you got from father. Do you want to hear my thought?"

"Really? That is really fast. Can you give me the summaries first?"

"No problem. I think that Father is a genius. He brought a lot of stocks from the smartphone corporation, and after I read about the corporation's profile, I have to admit that the investment will have good fruit several years from now. Unfortunately, he had to sell almost all of his stocks because of the debts, and the only remaining stocks is from a corporation called Blackberry. I think you've already heard about that phone. But after reading about another corporation profile, I have to admit that while Blackberry is more popular right now, a corporation called Samsung will be a better investment in the next ten years, so I think selling our stock right now while the price is still high is a better choice. Are you still with me so far?"

"It's okay, I am still with you. But I think we need to take a break and have dinner. Our ramen is ready." While Kiyoko never showing up her knowledge, she is still a daughter of a rich man, so I know she can understand what I am talking about. We take a break for about fifteen minutes to have dinner, and after our silent dinner, we continue our conversation about her inheritance.

"For the properties, I don't have a lot to talk about. Father has already sold his entire property except for the one near your school. Do you know about the house? If you know, then we can live in that house at least until next year." I see Kiyoko placing her palm on her chin, thinking about something. After a minute, she gives me a reply,

"Okay, I know the house, and I usually used the house when I need to be early for the club, so I know that we can live in that house without having any reparations. As for the stocks, I will follow your recommendation and sell them tomorrow. How long do you think we can live with the money? And what will you do for now? Don't you want to go to university or try to be a professional volleyball player?"

Damn, I know she is smarter than what she let the other look. And she is so adorable when she put on a serious face. Focus, Hiroyuki!

"Okay, we will sell the stocks tomorrow. Adding with the money that I have right now, after counting water, electricity, and internet bill, I estimate that we can live at least for a year if we don't have any income. As for me, I will do a lot of freelance jobs via the internet. I have an IELTS certificate with an average score is 8.0 and hold a B2 certificate in the German language, so I can do a lot of translation jobs. What do you think?"

"What?! That IELTS score is better than averages! And what is this German certificate? Since when did you learn about language?" She looks at me amazed. I look back at her and put a fake hurt on my face,

"What? You didn't know that your brother's best subject? How can you do it for me Kiyo-Chan?!" She pouted and she has a slight red color on her cheeks. Wait, Is my little sister tsundere? Hmm, I will have a lot of fun in the future. But for now, I will pretend to not realize her tsundere, and continue our conversation.

"Hahaha, I am just kidding. It is my fault I barely talk about my life to you, so you don't need to worry about it. I also have already thought about a way to get money for the next year so you can enter Tohoku University, so you don't have to worry about me or the money. You just need to study hard for the next year and have fun with your club, okay? I will do anything to make you happy." I smile softly at her. She tries so hard to look at the floor and avoid my eyes, but I know she blushes after hearing my last sentences.

"Thank you Yuki-nii." Damn, it looks like I am proposing to her to marry me. I shake my head to throw away that thought.

"Okay, it is already 10 p.m., so we need to sleep. We have to move to our new home tomorrow, and I want it to be finished before midday so we can have a bit of shopping. So we have to wake up at least at 7 a.m. Can you do it Kiyo-chan?"

"It's alright, it's already a habit for me to wake up early. Volleyball club really do a wonder huh?" She smiles. I chuckled at her response, and before we go to our bed, I remember something and decide to inform her about my collection.

"Oh Kiyo-chan, if you need references for English literature, I have a lot in my box. Its range widely from Ernest Hemingway and George Orwell, to the modern author like Mitch Albom. I also have a few books about the theory behind English literature, so you don't need to worry about references okay? Good night." I yawned. But to my surprise, she runs to me like a missile and give me a big hug

"Thank you Yuki-nii. You are the best big brother in the world." I smile hearing what Kiyoko says to me. It feels nice to see my little sister admire me.

"Okay, okay, you're welcome. Now, go to sleep. We need to wake up early you got it? Good night."

"Good night Yuki-nee, and thank you once again."
