Transmigrated into American Dramas

In the interconnected world of American TV series, we will experience the story through the eyes of the main character. As he will try to save those characters who died unexpectedly, and live through the twists and turns created by the creative minds of the screenwriters. Some popular shows like "The Rookie," "Jack Reacher," "Hunter," and "Person of Interest," as well as potential additions like "Knight Rider" and "Bones," might feature in this world. There might even be some thrilling police versus gangster dramas. However, apart from the protagonist's special ability, there are no supernatural elements involved. All the cases and storylines are crafted to serve the overarching narrative, and there may be some intriguing surprises along the way. Readers, please remember that this is all meant to be taken lightheartedly and not too seriously. /////// https://www.patreon.com/Lazy_Panda / (This is a Translation Work ) 美剧世界:从洛城巡警开始

Chapter 21: Got Shot

When Jack, Angela, and Hannah arrived at room 365 on the third floor, they found a chaotic scene. A big hole had been dug in the gypsum board on the right side of the door. The smuggler entered the bedroom through this hole, and Lucy was shot in the chest, lying unconscious on the floor. Two burly men were fighting with Tim, while a Latin woman on the living room sofa held a newborn baby, trembling in fear.

Jack was afraid of accidentally hurting someone, so he hesitated to use his gun. Angela and Hannah, on the other hand, each pulled out a taser gun and skillfully stunned the two burly men.

"Lucy!" Tim, with a bruised and swollen face, rushed to Lucy's side and quickly opened her bulletproof vest.

"Cough, I'm okay." Lucy regained consciousness and coughed violently. She pulled out a bulletproof plate from her chest, which shockingly had a deformed bullet embedded in it.

"Wans Marcus has escaped. He confessed to being the one who harmed my wife." Seeing that Lucy was fine, Tim picked up his gun from the ground and rushed out of the room. Worried about his safety, Jack followed closely behind.

"Officer Bradford, don't rush. Marcus can't get away. Reinforcements have already arrived downstairs." Jack tried to calm Tim down, reminding him to be cautious despite the situation now being in their favor.

However, just as Tim reached the other end of the stairs and looked down, a spray of bullets grazed his scalp and hit the hard wall, creating dangerous ricochets. The assailant seemed completely insane, ignoring the bullets completely. Taking advantage of the moment when the assailant was changing magazines, he leaped over the handrail from the third floor to the second floor landing and aimed his loaded Uzi submachine gun at Marcus.

At this moment, Tim made a mistake. He forgot to check his remaining bullets after picking up his gun earlier. The first shot hit Marcus's bulletproof vest, causing him to stagger back two steps. When Tim tried to shoot again, he realized his Glock was empty and jammed.

Seeing Marcus about to retaliate against Tim with his loaded Uzi, Jack stumbled and rushed over. He repeatedly pulled the trigger, and the six powerful .357 Magnum bullets penetrated the bulletproof vest, leaving six fist-sized exit wounds on his back.

"Fuck you, Bradford! You almost got both of us killed." Jack lay in the middle of the stairs, blood flowing from his calf.

The previous submachine gun bullet didn't hit Tim but ricocheted off the wall. One of the bullets hit Jack's right calf, luckily not hitting the bone but getting stuck in the muscles.

Tim quickly pulled out a tourniquet from his waist and tied it below Jack's right knee, feeling guilty for his actions fueled by hatred.

"I'm sorry kid , It was my fault, thank you." He apologized, acknowledging it was his mistake.

Jack didn't hold a grudge and felt relieved when Zoe and the chief appeared in the hallway, dressed in uniforms and bulletproof vests, followed by SWAT and fellow officers. He knew it was finally over.

"Jack," Zoe anxiously rushed to check on him when she saw him shot in the leg and lying on the ground.

"Superintendent Anderson, I'm fine. It shouldn't have hit the bone. Did you find Officer Bishop? She's seriously injured," Jack emphasized in his address to remind Zoe of their undercover relationship.

Zoe realized she had shown too much concern and quickly composed herself. Their relationship had to remain a secret; otherwise, it could ruin both Jack's career and her political ambitions.

"Bishop has been taken to the central hospital by an ambulance. Is there anyone else injured upstairs?"

"Lucy took a shot in the chest, but her bulletproof vest saved her. She should be fine. There's also a woman who just gave birth and a baby upstairs, I'll leave them to you. I'll take Jack to the hospital first," Tim said, helping Jack stand with his arm around his neck.

Zoe looked at Jack with genuine concern and nodded, "I'll visit you guys at the hospital later."

Clang! A 7.62x40mm bullet from an Uzi submachine gun lay intact on a stainless steel tray as Gray put down her forceps. Though wearing a mask, her eyes showed a satisfied smile.

"Jack, you're lucky. The bullet only went about two centimeters deep, no need for stitches. Leaving a wound open like this will help it heal faster, you'll be walking in about a week."

As the injury was in the leg, Jack didn't need general anesthesia, and he was fully conscious. He tried to suppress the damned aftereffect, forcing a smile, "Thank you, Dr. Gray. I've always been lucky, you know that."

Gray skillfully dressed the wound, playfully tying a bow on it. She leaned in close, lightly patting his handsome face, close enough for Jack to feel her breath through the mask.

"You'll be discharged tomorrow. Remember to come back in three days for a dressing change, that's extra service," she teased.

The nurse chuckled, sounding like an old mother hen, "Why not give him a few more days in the hospital? I can arrange for him to stay in your private ward during your regular lunch break. No one will disturb you two there."

If Jack hadn't seen a few seasons of that medical drama, he might have considered something happening with Gray. After all, she was a rare beauty, but now his mind was filled with "F**k and kill" due to the lingering aftereffect.

However, he had been genuinely frightened by the chaotic private lives of these surgeons. It seemed like the editors of long-life dramas had brain capacity no bigger than almonds, forcing them to haphazardly arrange character relationships.

As Gray wheeled Jack out of the operating room, the waiting officers stood up, applauding and smiling. The applause wasn't for the minor surgery Gray performed.

"Alright, I'm returning your hero in one piece," Gray waved goodbye.

"Hey, well done! I heard about today's events. You did great today, well, yesterday too. I haven't had a chance to thank you for saving me yesterday."

Sitting in a wheelchair next to Jack, John was the first to congratulate him. The woman pushing the wheelchair was a female doctor Jack hadn't met before. She appeared to be around John's age, retaining her charm, and Jack noticed a mysterious look in her eyes when she glanced at John.

Before Jack could speak, Hannah rushed over and hugged him tightly, giving him a firm kiss on the cheek, "If it weren't for you and Angela today, Talia and I might not have survived."
