Chapter 18: Sister's

I stared blankly at the position they were in before sighing when Alyssa started to flush from embarrassment and dipped underneath Aaron's arm. She zoomed over to me and waved her hands frantically in front of herself.

"Jasmine it's not what it looks like!" 

I glanced at her from the side as I sat down the lunchbox. I look over her shoulder and see Aaron with a displeased scowl on his face while making his way over to us.

"Get out" he demanded rudely to me 

He seemed to look at me like something insignificant and that pissed me off. Not because he's being a jackass, but because he doesn't respect anyone and acts like an arrogant little rich boy.

I narrowed my eyes at him as a challenge.

'I don't care what he wants, but if this is the guy Alyssa is going to end up with then I better make him learn that he can't control everything' I thought turning my gaze away and ignoring him

That seemed to get him angry and he was about to insult me when Alyssa angrily looked at him

"Excuse me, this is my sister your glaring at" She said with hands on her hip and puffed out cheeks that she tried to make look intimidating

Aaron smirked at her

"A half-sister" He corrected staring deeply into Alyssa's eyes

'He did not just say that' I thought with a little disbelief, 'does he truly believe your not family if you don't have blood relations'

'Wait' I stopped thinking for a second and tuned out the drama fest happening between the two

'Aaron considered Gabriel his brother, so then he does believe that family isn't just by blood. Then why did he say that?' I thought putting my hand underneath my chin. Not to mention we are blood related.

'Oh! That must be why' I thought with realization,' Aaron did a background check on Alyssa in the novel and found out that her step family are mean to her. Though he only did a basic background check because he didn't really care about the insignificant bugs. If he did than he would have known I haven't been mean to Alyssa'

"Jasmine" I was pulled out of my thoughts by Alyssa's voice

I hummed and looked at her in question

"Thank you for bringing me lunch" she said with happiness

"Yeah, you did what you were asked to do now, leave" Aaron demanded again, moving to stand in front of me and glared down at my tiny form. He was literally towering over me with his height of 6'2'' and my 5''

I internally sighed at this single-brain celled man child. He thinks of Alyssa as his possession and tries to control all her actions in the future, and guess what? It happens because Alyssa doesn't think anything of it. I'm not going to let this guy ruin the chance of my sister having a good and healthy second life.

My eyes widened slightly

'My sister' I thought with wonder, 'do I really think of her as a sister' I looked at Alyssa who has been glaring non-stop at Aaron for disrespecting me

I turned my confused stare towards the ground for about a second before my eyes changed to acceptance.

'If she's my sister, than I guess-' I brought my eyes up to meet with Aarons who jolted a little from the new look in my eyes, '-I better teach this a mongrel a lesson for putting his filthy hands on her without permission'

"No"

'No?" Aaron repeated in disbelief like he couldn't fathom want I just said

"I'm not leaving, this isn't even your office. Or for a matter of fact it's not even your building" I told him while moving so close to him our bodies were touching, "why don't you leave now" I released some KI that had Aaron bursting into sweat.

We stared at each other for a couple of seconds before Aaron gave up and turned to leave.

"I got to go Alyssa, I have a business meeting to attend to" he tried to say casually but I could see the sweat at the nape of his neck

Once the door was closed and he left I internally triumphed my victory, but was soon startled when I was clomped from the side.

"Jasmine! That was awesome!" Alyssa hugged me tightly

I froze, but relaxed into the hug after a while. She dragged me to the couch and opened up her lunch. She looked inside and saw chocolate before giving it to me. I took it immediately without even looking at it.

It's chocolate, of course I'm going to take it if it is offered to me.

We sat in silence before Alyssa couldn't take it anymore and finally asked her question.

"Why did you do that?" She suddenly asked and I glanced at her in confusion. Alyssa saw my look and started to fiddle with the ends of her skirt, "I mean I'm grateful, but I thought you didn't like me"

I sighed internally and got up from the couch and made my way towards the door. When I stood in front of it I stayed still for a second before opening it.

"I didn't but....your my sister now, so i've got to look after you just like you looked after me" i said before exiting the office

Alyssa P.O.V.

I was frozen with shock before a smile bloomed onto my face

"Your very kind, Jasmine" I whispered to myself and looked at my lunch

'She can take care of herself' i thought

"I won't save you, but I'll stand beside you while you save yourself"

I leaned my back against the couch and looked up at the ceiling with a smile

"Cause we're sisters now"

Jasmine P.O.V.

When I arrived home there was another limo present in front of the mansion. I walked inside curious but stopped when I saw Ameila Hale sitting on the living room couch.

She was sitting next to an older man that had the same red hair as her and blue eyes. In Front of the man was Ceilia elegantly sitting with one leg crossed over the other.

Ceilia saw me and smiled

"Jasmine, it's great your he-" I didn't let her finish speaking before I practically teleported next to Ameila and sat myself down right next to her and greeted her with a pat

Amelia flushed a little in embarrassment from being greeted like that in front of the adults, but a boisterous laughter started after I indicated for her to pat me on my head back. I looked over her shoulder.

The man that looks very similar to Ameila laughed joyfully and spoke cheerfully

"Amelia i didn't know you had such cute little friend"

Amelia almost blushed but held it down and coughed

"Yes, well. We only met yesterday"

I peered curiously at him and Ceilia saw my look and smiled slightly at me.

"Jasmine, I want to introduce you to Oliver Hale. Amelia's father. He owns a very remarkable jewelry company." she introduced me to him, "We're collaborating together to create clothes and jewelry matches''

'Huh, The novel never mentions Oliver, but It doesn't matter. This is the real world anyway. The novel doesn't exist here. No one's fate is already written for them. They can make their own choices'

"You must be Jasmine. I heard from Ceilia about your skills in painting. I was thinking, maybe you could paint a piece for the fashion show that's showcasing the items of clothes and jewelry" Oliver smiled kindly at me

Ceilia seems to light up at the suggestion

"That's a terrific idea" She looked at me with her sharp golden eyes, "Will you"

I thought for a second and made up my mind

"Just don't put my name on it" i said leaning onto Ameilia's side and resting my head on her shoulder

"Huh? Why no-" Oliver cut his question off when he saw my blood red eyes gazing at him deeply

He sighed in defeat

"As you wish"

Amelia has been frozen this entire time with my close contact on her. I glanced up at her and internally signed.

"I can move if your uncomfortable" I said to her

That seemed to break Amelia's frozen state and she immediately straightened herself and smirked arrogantly down at me

"Why would I be uncomfortable from such a little thing"

I shrugged my shoulders and looked back up only to see Ceilia and Oliver chatting comfortably with each other. There is a certain look in their eyes that I'm pretty sure they don't notice when they look at each other.

I lowered my eyes and without me knowing a small smirk made its way onto my face that Amelia caught before looking away not wanting to know why I have such a mischievous glint in my eyes.

'Well, isn't this interesting'
