War approaches

A few months passed by quickly without any news about the empire's intentions to invade Northern Tribes. During those months, Seika managed to unite almost all of the tribes under him either by his talk-no-jutsu or by defeating their leaders in the case of more primitive tribes. As he planned with Dora, most of the villages he started trading within the Empire's territory were massacred and burnt to the ground. While it might be despicable trading with them knowing their ultimate fate, he had to do what he could for "his" people.

After a while, he got so used to it that any guilt he previously felt completely disappeared and he even went as far as to order his spies to report on some of those villages to the Empire.

Seika's strength saw rapid growth however his trump card, the black mist, was still kept secret. Only after interacting with Dora and Doya for two months did he decide to reveal a bit but he was very vague about it since he himself wasn't sure what it is. He also avoided telling them all about its abilities even though he knew that Doya originally died for Northern Tribes. He could be said to be a very cautious person who wouldn't let anything to a chance if possible.

He also asked Doya to teach and train him in assassination skills which greatly surprised her but she was still happy to see him taking interest in it.

Seika wasn't aware if the original plot in Akame Ga Kill is going to be the same or at least closely similar so he couldn't completely rely on his memories. He had to be prepared for the worst even if Akame somehow ended up staying on the Empire's side, at least the reports from his spies in the Capital told him that Night Raid started gaining more and more fame.

As Seika was sitting by his desk reading the various reports in his room, somebody forcefully swung the door open.

"Bad news, prince!" It was Doya who was quickly breathing as if she run here from far away.

Seika slightly turned his head and glanced at her with a calm expression. Each day in this world made him more accepting of his situation.

"What is it? This isn't like you, Doya"

"The Empire! Our spies reported an army marching towards our borders! The others decided to start the war council, you should get there fast" Doya explained with a slightly frantic expression.

*Phew* "I see, what are their numbers and types of soldiers? Who is the general?" Seika put the reports aside and got up to grab his armor and spear.

"Tens of thousands, our spies couldn't get exact numbers due to interference from the empire's assassins. As for the general...the reports said that they didn't recognize him, it must be a newly appointed one. It feels more like they are testing our strength."

'While this world slightly resembles medieval ages, they do have some automatic rifles, most likely not as effective as the modern ones but they can still cause a lot of damage. There are a lot of strong people and generally, those who can become generals are very powerful, however, the regular soldiers are usually just cannon-fodder aside from a few exceptions.'

'I would literally be able to go against thousands of regular soldiers wielding only close-range weapons, however, even I would find it difficult to fight against hundred of gunmen together with the great number of infantry unless I would use the black mist.'

"Let's go" Seika said as he walked out of the room.

"Huh? Me too?" Doya stood shocked while pointing at her surprised expression.

"Obviously, from now on, you are my bodyguard. If I have to entrust my back to somebody, it has to be you." Seika casually said but his words caused Doya's green eyes to shine brightly.

"Prince, I still have good news to report!" Doya quickly caught up to Seika and reported with a smile. Seika looked at her which served as indication for her to continue.

"Henter...we finally found the man you had us searching for. It was really hard to convince him to come with us since you prohibited us to use force."

"?! Good!" Seika's eyes widened in pleasant surprise since the timing couldn't be any better.

The moment he walked inside the room where the war council was taking place, the loud arguing he heard from outside settled down as all the eyes landed on him.

"Prince, you are here, good! We were just discussing how to respond to the Empire's provocation, they are obviously not taking us seriously." One of the generals with a face full of scars spoke out first with a rough voice.

"Dora, are the items I asked for a month ago ready to use?" Seika nodded at everyone and sat down before turning his attention to Dora who was already standing behind him as his personal attendant.

"Yes, though we only managed to get five hundred of them, however, they are thick enough to stop the bullets."

"What are you talking about, prince?" One of the curious generals couldn't help but ask.

"I will be taking over the command for the upcoming battle against the Empire." Seika said instead of explaining himself.

"W-What?! Prince, you can't be serious!"

It goes without saying that many opposed this decision since it seemed like the original Seika was more of a fighter than a commander.

"This is my final decision, you might think I am making the wrong decision but halt your premature judgment" Seika said with a stern look on his face which was enough to shut down most of the generals.

Unfortunately, most don't mean all.

"But prince,-" It was the same general with a scarred face but as soon as he spoke out, the temperature inside the room dropped.

"I believe Seika-sama has said it is his FINAL decision" Dora interrupted the general with a cold voice and when everyone saw her red eyes filled with bloodlust, everybody shut their mouth.

"Scaary" Doya muttered with an amused smile while standing next to Dora who only gave her a quick glare to let her know she should shut her mouth.

'Did I receive some kind of hidden weapon for taking over Seika's body?' Seika thought and appreciated Dora's actions since he didn't want to force them with fear. He had a reputation to uphold and if a respected hero started getting his way through force and intimidation, it wouldn't look good on him in the future. Those little pushes were exactly a job for his personal attendant to do.
