Diagon Alley

Stepping through the Floo of the Leaky Cauldron I used the wiping charm to remove the soot from myself. I waved to Tom the barkeep and, made my way to the Diagon Alley entrance.

"Hey Neville," Came a girly voice behind me. Turning I saw, Hannah Abbot.

"Hey Hannah how're you." I asked.

"I'm doing well. How has your summer been?"

"I'm also doing well. My summer has been good. And, you." I replied.

"Oh it was normal I just spent time my parents. Their in the Alley by the way."

"Well give them my regards. I have to go into the alley right now see you at Hogwarts."

"I will tell them." She said

Walking through the entrance I walked into Diagon alley proper. My first stop was Madam Mikins. After, getting measured, and fitted for new robes, I put in an order to add a hood to them. Becase why not. Hogwarts didn't have a dress code so it was like I couldn't do it.

Next stop, was to Madam Snelling's Tress Emporium. It was recommended by gran who said, in no uncertain terms I was'nt to come back with my hair the way it was. To be fair I hadn't cut my hair since I came to this world. So it lay in my mid-back currently.

Stepping into the shop, it had a washing station and serveral barber chairs. Inside was a elderly looking witch seated behind a counter. Immedately her eyes locked onto me. With the agility of a woman of a lesser age she was upon me.

"Oh dear your hair is crying, you need an immedate treatment." She accosted me by the wrist faster than I could see. In the blink of an eye I had shampoo in my hair.

After, getting washed and dryed and still having not talked to the woman. She was trimming my ends and, combing my hair.

"Now dear what will you have for a style?" Said the woman finally addressing me.

"Shaved all around, and cut it to shoulder length. Also, give me a bun in the back." In seconds I felt her going to work.

"Finished. That'll be a Galleon and, eleven Sickles." She said, I gave her the ammount and was on my way.

With my new haircut I made my next stop Flourish and Blotts.

When I arrived the bookstore was surrounded by a crowd of people. This reason for this was on a banner displayed on the upper windows.

GILDEROY LOCKHART will be signing copies of his autobiography MAGICAL ME today 12:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M.

Walking through the crowd, into the bookstore. Past the long line of people that extended towards the back of the shop. A glance could tell you the the blue-eyed, blonde man with the pointed cap was Gildroy Lockhart.

Ignoring it I started collecting my school book. Starting with The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 2. Whilst I was getting my book a voice called out behind me.

"Neville!" Turning I saw it was Hermione. Who was standing with Ginny, Ron, and Harry.

"Yo." I said back to them.

"Neville…I never got the chance to say." Harry tried to start. But I interupted.

"I'd rather me moved passed it. Talking about it will do nothing in the end."

"Well i'm sorry anyway we should have listened to you." Finished Harry.

"The past is the past. I can't expect you to act normally under those circumstances." I said.

"Do you want to join us? My parents are holding a spot in line for us." Invited a Hermione cheerful.

"I'm good, thank you for the offer though." I replied which deflated her, I didn't want anything to do with the Horcrux diary. I would rather Ginny got it, then deal with it at Hogwarts.

"Alright see you at Hogwarts." Hermione said.

Finished with my shopping, I arrived back at Longbottom manor. When I got inside I saw Gran talking with Uncle Algie.

"Oh Neville we were just talking about you." My Uncle said in his usual upbeat tone.

"What were you talking about?" I asked, curiously.

"I was telling you uncle about you getting into dueling. Also i'm glad you finally did something with that hair." Gran said.

"Yes, when I heard you were going to participate in the the Euro regional, I was so proud. There hasn't been a brit in the tourney since before the war."

"Thank you. I'll be sure to win it all."

"Of couse you'll win your, a Longbottom after all." Interjected gran.
