3 The Banquet

After spending pretty much the rest of the day thinking about the reason why THE Luna herself would send him a custom made watch, he came to three possible conclusions in his head.

The first and most plausible conclusion he came up with was that someone is impersonating Luna in order for him get his hopes up and get him to fall into a certain trap or lure him somewhere in order to blackmail his father.

The second possible conclusion was that his father bribed the Xuan family, the family that Luna is apart of, a big sum of money and benefits in order to appease his son, but Ronald scratched that idea because his father wouldn't of had shown that big smirk of his in the morning if that was the case.

The third conclusion he thought of was that Luna might've transmigrated as well. He knows for a fact that the original Luna absolutely hated him to the bones, but the system had denied about the possibily that she was a transmigrator and that he was the only person that had traveled to the novel world.

"Well whatever, I'll just pretend like I never saw the package and wait for the plot to continue."

Although he was worried about the plot deviating from the original story, he believed that all the characters would still maintain their original personalities.

Oh boy would he later come to regret those words.

As night slowly approched, guests were rolling in and on the front yards of the Kuangge family were filled with all kinds of luxury cars, most of which were no less than $300,000.

The Kuangge family is one of the 10 major families that currently resides in the city so even if everyone in the upper class didn't respect Ronald, they still have to attend the banquet in order to show respect towards the Kuangge family.

Although on the surface it looked like people were coming in order to attend Ronald's birthday, everyone's true intentions were to build more and stronger connections with one another. Not everyone can attend the banquet after all, as there are sets of rules and requirements that a certain family needs in order to obtain the qualifications of entering the banquet, therefore only families that belonged to the upper class of society could attend the banquet.

This is also the fundamental reason why the protagonist Ye Fan wanted to attend the banquet and perhaps get even get lucky on building further connection with the Xuan family.

When Ronald entered the banquet, everyone took a quick glance of him, some even sneered at him and then went back to continuing with their conversations.

Ronald was glad that nobody approached him anyways and scanned around the venue for a quiet place to sit down and relax a bit just before the official plot starts.

A couple of minutes later, the sound of high heel shoes could be heard slowly stepping towards the banquet doors.

This sound also signaled that Ronald's role had officially started.

Ronald immediately stood up and started to rehearse his original lines accordingly to the novel in his head while staring at the doors waiting for the first heroine of the novel and the protagonist to enter the banquet.

Moments later Ronald and everyone else turns their head towards the door and sees a girl about 5'7 with long black beautiful hair and crimson red eyes that can can capture the heart of any man that dares look at it. An absolute stunning beauty that looked like she came out a fairy's painting.

That's right, it's the first heroine of the story, Luna Xuan.

Even though Ronald has seen her so many times in his previous life, he still gets mesmerized by her beauty every time he takes a good look at her.

It's no wonder why the original Ronald from the novel completely fell in love with her.

Don't get him wrong though, even if he admires her beauty and charm a lot, he doesn't even love her in the slightest.

Why? It's because Luna has always been those typical icey cold female presidents that would always place their business as their number 1 priority and would never be interested in any other man besides the protagonist.

Besides, even with the original Ronald's pure love and absolute dedication towards her, she still didn't even feel moved in the slightest and even indirectly caused his downfall.

Those things don't matter for the current Ronald however as he just wants to finish his role as the Villain and go back to earth.

Ronald started running towards Luna and was about to execute his lines

"Welcome to my birthday party, Lu-"

All of a sudden Luna started shedding tears from her eye and wrapped her whole arms around him tighty as if she was afraid he was going to go somewhere.

For a brief moment, everyone just stood there dumbfounded not even daring to make a sliver of sound while trying to process what they were witnessing before their very eyes, as if time was completely frozen.

Ronald didn't even dare breathe at this point...

'What.'

'Was this part of the plot?'

'Where is the protagonist? Wasn't he suppose to be Luna's bodyguard for tonight? How am I suppose to get face slapped by him if he isn't here?'

'What in the actual fuck is going on?'

'Maybe I have gone crazy after all.'
