Chapter 4

'How should I go about this, should I just gesture with my hand towards the place I want it to go and say the spell's name. Wait I don't have hands I'm just a shadow blob, ah damn it let's try it anyway.'

"Shadow slash"

After those works left Nero's mouth a thin shadow line in the form of a crescent moon shot forward and collides with a tree. Even though it didn't cut the tree in half it was half way there before it disappeared.

'That was so cool!' Shouts Nero in his mind

"Shadow spike"

A small shadow formed on the ground and from it came a spike made out of shadows. If anything was there it would have been pierced and maybe died instantly.

'That is pretty good. Now for the last one that I can test right now.'

"Shadow crawling"

'After I use this skill I aim to go to the shadow of the nearest tree. After that everything goes black and I feel like I'm under water ,than I appeared to the place I aimed to go.'

'Now let's try to hide inside the shadow. Again I feel like I'm under water but this time I can see. Everything around my is black and when I look up I can see the tree that is making the shadow were I am.'

'It take 10 mp per minute and I recover 20 mana per minute (1x20spr). So I can stay here for as long as I want, this is good.'

'Okay now let's get out and go raise my level'

Nero gets out of the shadow and start moving. But the moment he goes out the embrace of the shadows his movements become sluggish and it looks like he has been walking for hours.

'What the hell is happening. Why am I so tired. Is this your fault again you big ball of flames.' Nero starts cursing the sun aging.

After cursing for a bit more he returns back to the shadow of the tree.

'This is bad, if the sun light can do this to me I don't want to know what light magic can do. Well it's not like a lot of people have that type of magic, what I should be truly careful of is fire magic. '

'Now what should I do. The best thing to do is to wait till night but I don't really have the patience for that. Well I will use shadow crawling to move for now but I should be careful not to overuse it. Things can get very bad if I don't have enough mana to escape or hide in shadows.'

'It's been at least one hour since I started searching for any monster to level up. I learned a few things about my skills and about my self.'

'I learned that I don't need to get out the shadows when I shadow crawl. That means I can travel to someone's shadow and stay hidden there. I also learned how much I despite that damn ball of flames.'

'I mean I could have moved a lot further if I didn't have to stop and let my mana recover. And every time I go out in the open without a shadow to cover me I feel like I have been walking for days and my head feel like it's gonna bust.'

'I need to think of a way to overcome this weakness. I won't be able to stay under a shadow every time I fight. Well I hope that I can overcome this problem as I level up.'
