Skin White As Snow
Complete review This story is about a girl with some knowledge of herbal medicine, that gets reincarnated as a baby to a poor farmers family. The book follows her and her family as they grow up and the world changes. It's tagged as historical romance (also with fantasy) but later adds a cultivation aspect to the plot. The writing style is very easy-going and has a slice of life feel to it albeit having the usual arcs with rising suspense. This means it doesn't get boring and yet is a relaxing read. What I loved about the plot the most was the focus on family bonds and relationships. The greatly detailed characters only helped deepen the impression they left in my mind and even caused me some tear soaked moments (more towards the later half of the story). The world itself was described in detail as well which is crutial towards the later development of the plot. The writing quality was overall good with a few of the usual mistakes in translations. I felt like there weren't as many at the beginning but increased towards the end. Still it was by no means bad and still enjoyable to read. Now coming to the main point, story development: Like I previously said, I love the depiction of the family. As the FL starts as a newborn, the beginning revolves around family a lot and is written in great detail. I really loved that part! The older the FL gets, the faster time passes. In this story this is nothing I would consider as bad because it fits so well. The FL needs time to learn and strengthen some skills, which is given. I won't go in much more detail as that would spoil to much of the plot, I can just repeatedly stress to check out this book! This is historical romance, so where is the romance in my review? You have to know, that this is 100 % a slow burning love, so don't expect too much in the first half or even two thirds. The love interest is developed very early and everyone is kind of aware of it (even they themselves). But! They both feel like it's not the right time yet and wait. I actually agree with them, because the FL is strong and very independent which she has to live out to her fullest first. The official end is at chapter 988 followed by a side story till the last chapter 1029. The official ending has me torn. I feel like saying "What?! This is it? Can't be!", yet at the same time this was 100 % fitting to the whole story and the characters. It gives a good ending. Still, the side story is very necessary in my opinion. It properly ties up the last big loose strings and gives an even better ending. If you've read the book, you'll know what I mean, when I say that both endings have their right to stay and are absolutely necessary. I know, I repeat myself, but I really, really recommend you this story, so maybe give it a try. You won't find that many good and completed translations on Webnovel anymore. 10/10
Really love it. The rhythm of the story is really good and the ending also compatible with how the real story should ending (There is beginning of the story, climax, after climax, ending, cooling down, so for me the story is perfect). Because another book like "National xxxx xxx a girl", have a nice story but at the end of the story it became unimaginable. It give me the feeling that the author don't want to write anymore. This novel give me a feeling to keep reading until the end of the story and not skip every chapter. You guys should read it.
My gosh but this story is really good. :) there were some error in English but very minimal. Since the characters were well built, you can clearly feel the emotions during those sad times. And as much as there are love stories all around the leads, their love story started a bit late but with a reason. So it really keeps everyone wanting to finish the boom. Good job! 👍❤️
Dropped at chapter 153. It's not like I don't like this type of story, but this one made me feel bored so early. It's very mundane and definitely not lighthearted. I mean, if it's about their daily lives and it's funny, I won't feel this bored. So maybe this kind of tone isn't for me. Who knows if I'll come back again. But for now, I'll stop here.
