153 The Daily Activities of Superheroes

"Oh, disruptive tactics? Good idea!" Daisy wasn't surprised that Stark managed to crack her vibration frequency. Anything measurable by instruments couldn't really stump Stark.

However, she had her own countermeasures and continuously created spatial distortions.

The powerful gravitational force acted on the Iron Man suit, causing Stark's flight movements to deform directly. Despite the thruster's increasing thrust, the body was controlled by gravity, flying sideways under the combined effects of the two forces, almost straining his old back.

"What is affecting the armor?" Stark increased propulsion twice in succession but couldn't escape the pull of gravity.

This time, J.A.R.V.I.S. took a slightly longer time to calculate. It was only when Stark was about to be pulled close by Daisy that it concluded, "It's the effect of gravity."

"Is there a way to break the effect?"

"Increase thrust output. Miss Johnson's stamina is depleting rapidly. In one minute and thirty seconds, gravity will decrease. Sir, your chances of winning are high." J.A.R.V.I.S. offered Stark a less-than-ideal solution, relying on his own energy to endure!

Stark's face looked a bit unpleasant. Winning with this method was no different from losing, but with the arrow already on the string, he had no better options for the moment.

With J.A.R.V.I.S. controlling the thrusters, Stark didn't have much to do himself. He began to contemplate Daisy's abilities.

"What is her ability?"

"What is the scientific basis?"

"Why does your body store so much energy, and how do you usually replenish it?" Stark asked questions to Jarvis and Daisy.

Daisy was already sweating at this point, using her ability continuously had left her physically and mentally exhausted. Combined with Stark asking about how she replenishes energy, she couldn't help but feel a sudden hunger, the kind that grew stronger the more she thought about it.

At this stage of the battle, she felt it could end peacefully.

Before she could speak, Stark called for a ceasefire.

"Stop, stop! Something's happening in New York, didn't you see?" Stark urgently exclaimed.

Daisy stopped manipulating gravity and glanced towards New York.

"What's happening?... Oh my god!" Before she could finish her sentence, she saw a Boeing 747 roaring at the end of her field of vision.

The passenger plane was completely out of control, with thick smoke flowing from its engines, black smoke and flames shining half of the sky, and faint cries could be heard.

The plane looked like an oversized javelin, crashing into the ground far away.

"I'll go rescue!" Stark didn't waste any time, full throttle, he flew over to help.

Daisy didn't have any hero complex, but if she was capable, she wouldn't stand by and watch the passengers of a plane die.

A beat after Stark, she flew over as well.

Mid-flight, she noticed something odd about Stark's flying posture, a hint of forward rolling. Fancy flying?

Before she could ask, her adamantium alloy dagger flew out with a swoosh, firmly attaching to the aircraft's hull. At the same time, the buttons, zippers, and belt buckles on her body were all subjected to a pull force.

Magnetism?! She instantly identified the source of the power.

"Ignore me, go save the plane!" Stark, worthy of his hero title, shouted loudly despite being overwhelmed, instructing Daisy to rescue the plane first.

Daisy was speechless for a moment. She wanted to help, but she too was affected by magnetism.

Facing basic force manipulation, she was like Stark resisting gravity two minutes ago, and could only rely on gravity to counteract magnetism.

Stark was pushed and pulled like a ball by magnetism and his own propulsion, clearly unable to help. Despite feeling helpless, Daisy had to grit her teeth and face the situation.

Looking at the enormous plane, she felt a bit lost. Isn't lifting planes usually the job of the neighboring DC Superman or Supergirl? If not, Thor could do it. But now, looking around, Daisy didn't have any nearby friends to help.

Forcing herself, she flew to the bottom of the plane and tried to lift it with both hands. The result was frustrating; most of her strength was used to counteract magnetism, and the remaining strength wasn't enough. The plane only slightly regained some balance, still descending at a forty-five-degree angle towards the ground.

"Hey, help me contact Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters! I need support!" Daisy shouted to Stark.

Stark's phone quickly connected, but the conversation results were very disappointing.

Several main X-Men, Professor, Cyclops, Jean, and especially Storm, whom Daisy had high hopes for, were all absent. They were using their black-technology aircraft for spring enrollment work on the West Coast, and Storm had gone to England. Currently, only Colossus and the recently enrolled Iceman were left at the school.

"Colossus? Iceman? Are they helpful in the current situation?! Forget it, don't call them. They're still too young." Daisy declined Colossus's eager assistance; it's better not to complicate things with people without flying abilities.

Iceman might become powerful in the future, but currently, he was a rookie, and lifting an airplane is a daunting task that Daisy has to do herself.

Looking around, she didn't see any hidden heroes jumping out to help. Didn't they say that in Marvel, when a plane falls, there are seventeen or eighteen heroes ready to catch it? Where are they?

Feeling frustrated, she could only rely on gravity to counteract the still-raging magnetism.

Magnetism not only destroyed the plane's propulsion but also pulled the entire aircraft towards the ground. Now it was without disguise, trying to control all metals within its range.

Thinking of someone who could control magnetism, Daisy could only think of two people, one being Professor Charles Xavier's good friend Magneto, and the other being Magneto's daughter, codenamed Polaris, a.k.a. Lorna Dane.

Considering Magneto had been mastering magnetism for nearly fifty years, dealing with Daisy and Stark shouldn't be a problem. So, Magneto was ruled out.

Now, the source of magnetism in the plane was clear.

It was Lorna Dane, Magneto's youngest daughter, also known as Polaris. Perhaps this was the first outbreak of her superpower.

The magnetic control was wild and restless, suggesting that Lorna's ability had probably gone out of control after awakening.

Daisy freed one hand, pressed it to her temple, and frowned. She wanted to use her half-baked telepathic ability to communicate with the girl.

Through the spy named Danger, she had sneakily observed different methods of how Professor Charles used telepathy. Still, it was all on paper. High school students might know the principles of a nuclear explosion, but how many could actually build a nuclear bomb? Daisy was in a similar situation – theoretical knowledge but no practical application.

The telepathic ability she had forcibly developed was too weak. It took three days to communicate with a rhinoceros, let alone a human known for their fickleness.

However, Lorna was currently emotionally excited, with her superpowers running amok. Maybe the half-baked ability would work, at least better than Daisy yelling with her neck.
