1 New Dancers

Christopher and Lexi have been dancing together for ten years now. They have won a few competitions with their flawless dancing; it almost seemed natural that they would get together as a couple one day. Their families have tried to push them together, but Christopher just thinks of Lexi as a little Sister. Christopher, 18, currently looking at different career paths he will take, while Lexi, 16, is just beginning her high school education.

One day while walking around the neighborhood, Christopher saw a crowd of people gathered and heard loud music, which isn't a normal thing around his neighborhood. As he started to walk closer, Lexi ran up to him pulling him faster towards the crowd explaining that some people were dancing. "Although, they could never dance better than us", Lexi stated as they got closer to the dancers.

Christopher watched and became entranced by one specific dancer. The way the dancer moved with so much energy and feeling to the music, started to make Christopher dart in and dance with them. But the song ended and so did the dancing. Lexi quickly ran to one of the dancers asking them what they were doing, the leader of the group said they were just dancing. As if it wasn't obvious already. While Lexi stayed to get more information from the leader, Christopher went in search of the 'star of the show', well in his eyes the dancer was.

He came across the dancer talking with the other dancers as well as some of the onlookers. Before chiming in the conversation, the dancer that caught his eye took off her hoodie and cap, allowing her dark brown wavy hair to flow freely. 'It was a girl dancing! How old is she? Is she just visiting or is she new in town?' He thought, hoping it was the later. As the crowd began to disperse, around the dancers, Christopher jumped right in, taking the chance to speak with her.

Christopher: "Hi, you danced great out there!" He said enthusiastically.

Dancer: Turning around, her emerald eyes caught his light brown, almost golden eyes (they look golden for the bright sun.)

Dancer: "Thank you."

Turning back around to leave, Christopher went in front of her. "Are you new in town?", but before she could answer, a taller, male dancer came to her side excusing them both, since they were about to leave. "What's your name?!!", Christopher shouted to the talented beauty, but only got a glare from the male dancer as they continued to walk away.

"Do you know who that was, Gabriella?" her brother asked. "No, although he did look familiar. Either way, I probably won't see him again, so we are good.", she said happily. Mark sighed, "Stay away from him, ok. I have heard that he is already together with his dance partner anyways.", he was warning his younger sister. He did not know Christopher personally, only heard about how he and his dance partner are 'engaged'. So he didn't like it one bit when he saw Christopher get close to Gabriela. Gabriela just smiled as she looked at her older brother, "Brother. Do you think he will even notice me in public, let alone get close to me? I think he was just fascinated by the dance and dance outfits. You know how I am since I do not like to be the center of attention.", "Only when we are dancing, hmm," he said in a teasing voice as he played around with his sister." 'She was right. There would be nothing to worry about since they didn't live in the same neighborhood and even if they did, it would be hard to recognize her', he thought as he began to tease his little sister.

"What did you guys think of the crowd?", "They seemed to have enjoyed us. Did you see that one man who looked like he was about to jump in at the end of the dance?" Gabriela and Mark heard the dance group as they joined them. The dance group consisted of Gabriela and her older brother Mark, together with a couple of his friends. Gabriela, as mentioned does not like attention, so she usually keeps to herself. Actually, if not for her brother introducing her to dance she would probably be reading a book in the corner of her room. They continued talking while heading to the bus stop. They all lived in the same neighborhood about 40 minutes away via bus.

The dance group members are very nice and understanding. They all agreed when Mark's little sister joined them that they would do street performances away from their own neighborhood. That way Gabriela could dance to her heart's content wearing the cool outfits, all the while not worrying about anyone from school noticing her and making a big scene, which was her worst nightmare.
