Chapter 170 - The end

Caelum understood the situation had changing due to many foreign characters into the world he was currently in. He was sure that Grayfia was fated to fight Serafall in the war but now she seem to have no intention of fighting and only wish to end the war. It was obvious that her father is in horrible state after being poison and almost in death's door. Grayfia planned to at least asked for helped to save her father as the war held no merits to her.

Meanwhile, the woman with her was good friend of her which belong to Leraje clan that been annihilated after the great war. She didn't blame any of the people that killed her family but the people responsible for starting it. A war is war and everyone has lost something in the process due to the people behind it. Her clan was known for their power of gravity that on par with the power of destruction from the Bael clan which is why she was sought after by satan clan.

Sapphire Leraje refused to make her family be forgotten like the rest of the 72 devil clans which is why she was helping Grayfia to escaped the grasped of the Satan faction. Though, how the enemy faction react to their plead to surrender remain unknown but it was better than be puppet of war.

The devil surrounding them prepared their demonic power while Grayfia and Sapphire ready their own power. The latter brought out a battle axe while using her power pf gravity to pressure the devil while Grayfia had magical circle appear behind her. They would be able to defeat easily but the cause of their stamina is current depleted and the chances they had in surviving was low. Grayfia magical circle disappear as her stamina had been far too exhausted for to continue while her friend saw this gave a determined face.

"Grayfia, you need to run once I got their attention."

Grayfia was shudder hearing her friend final words. She couldn't simply ran let her friend who is the only one in her clan that still alive. The amount of pain of losing everyone you love is something Grayfia doesn't want to experience. She hadn't lose anything yet but the possibility of her father fading away made her frightened by the possibility.

"No! I can't let you do this alone!! Aren't you going to restore your clan after this war is over!?"

"I would have wanted that but theirs still waiting for you while I have nothing to lose than this life of man."

Sapphire gave a grim smile recalling her family and dreaming of living in peace having her own child with the man she would fall in love. However, she doesn't want to be selfish and willing to die to ensure that her pain will never be felt by anyone again. The devil had finished their preparation and launch their demonic spells straight at them while Sapphire gathered the last bit of her demonic power to stopped their attack and let Grayfia escaped.

Before she could attack, a figure appeared in front her eyes that stood still with his long red flowing hair and flattering clothes. Sapphire leraje doesn't know what to make of the situation when the attack of the devils that corner them were reflected back with the demonic energy hundred thousand times than the initial power that disintegrated the devils into dust. She couldn't believe someone had the power to reflect someone's attack and increased the initial power.

Grayfia also was bewildered from what she witness as before they were in dire situation then it was flipped when an unknown individual interfere and saved them. She quickly checked up on her friend who dropped her weapon and fall into her knees after being both mentally and physically exhausted.

"Sorry for being late I was distracted on something I discovered."

They both heard the person spoke as he turned to looked at them and remained vigilant but knew it was impossible to fight back if he wished after seeing how easily he defeated the devils. Caelum was a bit embarrassed that he was almost late from saving due to having enlightened about the Cause and effect which was type of profound mystery that he wanted to know more. It would have been unfortunate if he didn't took the opportunity to gain insight at the topic.

"Anyway, I'm Caelum Mercer, Can I ask why were you being attack."

"Thank you for saving us, My name is Sapphire Leraje."

"I'm Grayfia Lucifuge and as for your question, we were on our way to join the Anti-faction in hopes in ending the war."

"Oh I see…"

Caelum deep thoughts unsure if he should join in and helped end the war that has no relation with him or let them handle the situation knowing they would achieved their goal in peace. He intently towards them deciding to helped them lightly and won't directly interfere.

"I can helped you end this war if you desires."

"What!? Are you really willing help us end out war?? I know you are capable based from your power but this war has nothing to do with you."(Sapphire leraje)

"I would only help slightly with the rest being your task to do, of course there are a request want to ask but that come later, so are you willing to accept?"

Caelum doesn't want to come off as he wanted to earn him a debt which is why he only going to helped them slightly helped them. It show that he doesn't have ulterior motive if he told them that he wanted to compensate but of course the compensation would be absolutely nothing and only wanted to feel at eased.

They were reluctant to accept since the man before them may have something in plan but deep down it was the only chance they had. His words held merits and no lies refusing his helped would prove fatal if the war continues.

"….We are willing to accept! Please help us end this meaning war!"

Caelum baffled that Grayfia was the one to speak and seeing how flustered she was only gave a nod. In the anime, he rarely see her show emotion and always remain stoic with only when she was drunk did she change lightly. He understood that this happened when you had been a war and the trauma that comes with it. Caelum had almost unshakable heart didn't mean she was psychopath who lack understanding of it.

"Then let's go."

He used teleportation sending them to the battlefield where the Satan and Anti-Satan faction where gearing up to fight. Caelum does give the Satan faction for their unrelenting will to fight in what they believe and how they prided in their family. If their family weren't fools then their future would have soar into skies. Grayfia and Sapphire Leraje were anxiously waiting in what Caelum would do helped them as he silently stared at the battlefield. He doesn't want to something like what happened in the great war.

{Halt! Listen! Believe! Enough! Peace!}

Caelum transmitted his words to everyone in the battlefield which cause them to stop and turn towards his group. They were bewildered to that all of them have the urge to listen to his words despite knowing something was influencing them. Grayfia and sapphire leraje dumbstruck that all of the devil were willing to stop and listens. It was unbelievable that they don't know if it was laughable or not.

"What did you do to them?"(Grayfia)

"Nothing much, anyway I give the rest to you."

Caelum turning to her only giving vague answer since it was combined power from shinsui's mangekyo sharingan and the Voice of authority that he rarely use to having [Demiurge] and other power. He only use it to make the stubborn devil to stop their battle and listen to them forcing each words that come from Grayfia and Sapphire's words.

"Devil heed my words! This war will not lead to anything but loss pf a life! Are you all become numb that you had loss the meaning of life!! Are you all willing to throw your life because someone told you to!! I am the last of my clan and my pain is something imaginable that I do not wish for any of you feel! Do you all not have any love ones waiting for you and be held in embraces!!??"

All of the devil were shaken with their heart wavering feeling surge of emotion ran through their mind. The people who had remembered their family that waiting for them and those that they wanted to live the rest of their lives with. It was her words that strike their very core due to the influences of Caelum even those who are stubborn were force to reevaluate their chooses.

"Like my friends says, We all have something that we desires in life and should not throw away the opportunity. You all are not animals but devils! We have our free will to decide if we want this to continue or not!! Drop your weapon my fellow devil and head to the future we all live in peace!."
