chapter 116 - Sparring

Despite training roughly four hundred years inside purgatory to train his devil suppressing devil exercise and star battle body had little improvement.

The reason was inside the purgatory there weren't many that could stand equal to his power, and none were like the wild, hawk brother from the anime that fought the demon king countless times.

He thought that the monster were strong due the fact the demon king was present inside the place when Meliodas and ban were trapped.

Now that Caelum had the opportunity to fight someone who he can fight without worry. He can go where the demon king, but it would affect too many variables if he were to fight him.

He waited for an answer for his request from Meliodas who was too stunned from his words.

"A spar? Sure, but can we do it in a place where the demon clan can't find us?"

"No problem, here we go."

Raising his arms then Meliodas and Elizabeth felt the immense distortion in space. They couldn't believe a powerful mage could cast a dimensional spell when even the mages from Belialuin.

"Relax, I just casted a powerful dimensional barrier that distorts time. Inside would be a year while outside be just day. We could fight without worry even if you go on full power wouldn't destroy my barrier….probably."

Words couldn't describe how common sense was being destroyed from their eyes. Someone so powerful that even the supreme deity or demon king would be willing to recruit the said person.

He was more valuable than the prodigy from the kingdom of mages. Meliodas felt wary if the demon king managed to recruit him by using Melascula.

"A-Amazing, does that mean the demon king had recruited you?"

"Hahaha even if he offer me everything I would not have the slightest interest. I don't desire war and only do as I please, for I believe those that started the war should be one to end it not an outsider."

Caelum couldn't care less about wars for it is but the most foolish thing that could exist in any world. In war there are no winners for everyone are bound to lose something.

He had a simple way of life, if he can save someone who's in arms reach then he'll help as long it doesn't affect anyone dear to him. Though it extremely hypocritical and selfish but he couldn't care less.

Meliodas felt relieved that he didn't get involved in the holy war though still thought that Melascula is using the opportunity to change this man.

Caelum seeing this narrowed his eyes, but this time did not release any killing intent.

"If you're thinking Melascula is using this opportunity to change and recruit me then think again."

"Tch I already swore my servitude to Caelum-sama and I act as spy for him, My faith are all for him now and no else!"

"For that I'll reward you."

Melascula blushed hearing her master that she would be rewarded and couldn't thinking what the reward would be. Caelum chuckled seeing this then turn to Meliodas.

"Anyway, if you don't mind, Elizabeth, but I'll have spar with your lover."

"Ah! Wait although you already healed us, can you give us time to rest?"

"I don't mind, and it would best if he were in his peak condition. I'll wait."

Caelum decided to wait for them to gain their bearings therefore he could taste of fighting the ex-commandment leader Meliodas and perhaps check the skill of the bloody Eli.

He used the opportunity to cultivate, sitting in lotus position then circulated the energy that he accumulated. Currently his body and inner world don't have an independent energy source only using the main world converting them inside his inner world.

If he made it independent then as long his inner world lived then hell as well even the destroyed would revive inside the inner world. Though it's nearly impossible due his nirvana flame that would instantly use rebirth to return his body and soul.

Inside his dantian was a finger-sized golden gem being surrounded by the energy Caelum gathered then in that moment used all the energy to nourish the golden core which began to gain its luster.

It was devastating power and invincibility as though what ever happened would lead to either disaster or blessing. Caelum could already guess that he would need to shatter the core to gain a nascent soul.

He could feel his bones, flesh, muscles, skin, and marrow were beginning to change into a powerful body. The only thing he needed was heavenly tribulation to further refine his body.

After a while, he awoke from his meditations finally reaching the bottleneck without the Sanskrit interfering with his progress.

"How long was I meditating?"

"It's been five hours master. How do you feel?"

"Five hours? I see, well my body became much stronger, though I couldn't breakthrough but I'm at the bottleneck."

He then turns towards the two couple who had been watching him meditate and surprised to that his energy was much clearer than before.

"Alright are you ready to spar? Don't worry this would also allow you train for a year. Consider it an opportunity."

Meliodas nodded realizing that the opportunity to gain more power would greatly benefit in stopping the war.

They took a distance away from each other while the spectator watch from a far. The dimension Caelum was created a few kilometers far.

Caelum took off his robe of the sage showing his shredded muscle making his wives blush including Melascula. He cracked his neck and said.

"Well, start when this coins hits the ground."

"Got it!"

He took a coin then flipped it. The amount of time the coin hovered in the air was what it was needed for them to take their separate stances. Then the sound of the coin hitting the ground was heard, the world stopped for split second then.

BOOM!!

They instantly shortened the distance between each other in that small amount of time. Both of them were in a deadlock, but Meliodas readied his other fist.

Caelum caught his fist in time then pulled his arms to do a baekdu, but before it hit the abdomen he flip breaking his own shoulder which allowed him to stomp on his opponents head.

Meliodas moved to distance himself from Caelum who was buried in the ground. He couldn't believe the speed which Carlin displayed. It was beyond what he could imagine.

"Gah! Jeez that hurts but damn it's been so long someone been up to my standards."

In an instant, Caelum appeared in front of Meliodas to deliver a roundhouse kick sending him flying to the air.

"MELIODAS!!?"

From the spectator Elizabeth panicked seeing her lover sent flying through the air in immense speed. She couldn't bear seeing her lover like that.

"Calm down if you haven't noticed but master is actually raining the young man."

"Training? What do you mean?"

"Well, my master unconsciously has this old habit of training someone who gained his interest. Though the extent of his help depends on his mood."

"But isn't too much?"

"Do you trust you're man, woman!?"

Elizabeth felt shocked then silent having deep thought about the current situation. She was afraid of seeing her lover suffer but knew it would only do more harm if she doesn't trust on his ability.

Syrfin and Crimsyn smiled seeing her determined eyes shifting towards the battle which was supposed to be friendly spar.

"Do your best, Meliodas!!"

"Oh, look at you go. Well, it's unfair she's the only one cheering."

"Agree, master kick his ass!!"

"Too much…"

While the women cheered on their lovers, the two men proceeded to exchange fists becoming heavier each hit until Meliodas summoned a purgatory flame molding it into enormous ball of darkness then.

"Full counter!"

Using for three times increasing its power then launch the attack toward Caelum who only grinned at the sight.

"Hahaha come to me!"

He did the same and summoned an enormous shadow, reshaping it into a giant ball of miasmic darkness.

The two spells collided resulting in the landmass being completely devastated from their power. The spectators watching this didn't even flinch while Elizabeth was in pure utter shock from the devastation.

She was anxious thinking about if they were still alive and thankfully didn't need to wait too long because when the dust cleared both were unharmed beside few bruised as both of them smirks.

"I didn't expect to have this much fun."

"You tell me hahaha!"

"Sate now then let makes this to another level, shall we?"

Meliodas demeanor change into a sadistic one radiating cold and immense bloodlust though this only made Caelum excited. His opponent began to gain a strange tattoo on his forehead.

"That's a cool trick, let me try it!"

From that moment Meliodas felt shocked when he saw his sparring partner change as well. Caelum eyes crack open like the gaze of the abyss. They changed into red wine eyes while one pair of horns appeared on his temple.
