Chapter 42 - Fuck off

Caelum walked down the street, reminiscing of the past. A coffee shop he saw in the distance made old memories resurface. It took him some time, but as he entered the shop, he found the atmosphere to be cozy and rather nostalgic. His eyes wandered through the shop finding it rather empty, the only sign of people being those who were having their morning coffee. Attending the customers was a middle-age man of average height, wearing a conspicuous cowboy hat, he turned around, having noticed him arriving.

"Welcome to my shop, I presume you're new here?"

"Yeah I've just moved in recently."

"Great! I guarantee that you won't be disappointed in our cafe. Is there anything that interests you?"

"Give me a croissant and hot black coffee."

"Alright, give me sec."

The middle aged man happily brewed some coffee while Caleum scanned the shop, trying to find the young woman from before, it didn't take long to find her at the nearby table. After a while, he paid for his coffee and croissant which would be his breakfast then coughed to get her attention. She heard him, looking up and her expression instantly lighting up like a christmas tree, greatly surprising him.

"Hey! You're that guy from earlier!? How did you find me? And more importantly, did you destroy it?"

"I did, but I find it odd that you were willing to just give it to some random guy."

"Great!! I really owe you one man!! If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask me!"

"Caelum Mercer, a pleasure to meet you, what's your name? ?"

"I'm Nova Johnson, it's nice to meet you, Caelum! I'm really sorry that I got you involved but I just didn't know what to do!"

"Nah, don't worry, it wasn't much of a problem. Anyway, can I sit here?"

"Sure sure! I'm staying here until things cool down. Those people might find me if I leave now."

Caelum nodded, taking a seat in front of her taking a bite into the croissant, all the while glancing at Nova who absentmindedly looked out the window.  He noticed how she didn't bother checking her phone and guessed it could be traced if she were to use it. 

"Aren't you going to order anything? I can buy you something if you don't have spare cash?"

"Wait really!? That would be great!! I was panicking earlier on how I was gonna deal with this mess and forgot my wallet at home."

"Tell me what kind of pairing you want for your coffee."

Nova seems to have a highly active and unique personality, guessing that she doesn't have many friends because of it. Caelum only guessed in his intuition since her action would rarely appeal to anyone. Nova told him her preference and went to the counter to buy the coffee afterwards went back giving the food to her. 

She eagerly ate the meal disregarding any elegants while Caelum finds it adorable that she's like him when his younger having quite the active personality. 

"Soooo good~! It is so tiring running around without any breakfast."

"I guess, I'm curious if you know any anime and manga shops in this city?"

Caelum said it out of spite since he was curious to read stories casually since the next world would be random and would be pointless if he read a few stories. Furthermore, Cereza told him that the next world would remove any future knowledge about the story and only give the basics. 

This essentially makes him rely on himself when guessing the future events. It was an unfortunate setback but that was hardly going to hold him back and that rule would only apply for the next world. 

"Wait, you also like anime!?"

"Of course! I even collected manga volumes and statue's in my younger days!!"

"I see, you're a man of culture as well!!"

"Hahaha nice one, in all seriousness I love anime and manga."

"What's your favorite anime?"

"Depends on what genre to be honest. I'd say Kimetsu No Yaiba? Or maybe Nanatsu No Taizai?"

"God, me too!! And here I thought you were some stuck up playboy, no offense."

"None taken and I'm flattered that you called me handsome in a weird way."

Caelum smiled, finding it enjoyable talking with her since the two shared the same interest. He rarely finds anyone that has the same interest as him and feels compelled to know about the young woman before him. Meanwhile, Nova hardly got flustered but felt her face heat up looking at his face. 

She was comfortable talking to him without feeling judged by her interest. The two were comrade in arms when it comes to being anime lovers. 

"As for your question earlier, there is one close by."

"Great! Let's head there once we finish eating." 

The two finished their meal then headed their way to the streets toward their destination. Along the way, they were having small talks and getting to know each other.

"So are you also a college student in Krendon?" 

"No, I actually just moved here and had to take my last year of highschool again."

"Why is that if you don't mind me asking?"

"Shit hits the fan but things settle down now. What about you?"

"I am and I'm taking computer science as my major."

"At this point, you're probably a more capable programmer base from what you did earlier."

"Hehehe I can't help being curious but good thing I'm careful in my actions."

"Is that why you don't have a phone?"

"How did you know I don't have a phone?"

"You didn't try using one at the cafe and since your phone is easily compromised, I thought you decided not to use one."

"Bingo! I'm impressed that you guessed it that easily! Yeah I don't want to use a phone that could be monitored without me knowing."

"I mean you could still buy one but add some protection to avoid getting spied on." 

"Hmmm maybe you're right. I mean we can exchange numbers since you're really a cool guy, Caelum."

"Hearing that from a beautiful girl flatters me."

"Hahaha don't think I'm an easy girl from your flirtation."

"Who said I'm flirting? I'm just stating what I see and that's all."

Caelum was telling the truth seeing her ginger hair curly hair was rather appealing and her personality attracted him toward her. Meanwhile, Nova was surprised that someone was giving her a compliment since rarely anyone tries to talk to her because of how unusual she acts. 

"T-Thanks, I guess. You really know how to use your words huh?"

"Think what you will."

He gave a light chuckle as they soon arrived at a manga and anime shop where Caelum picked up some volumes of manga that caught his interest. Nova took piles of manga volume with a wide grin, surprising Caelum, who then tilted his head.

"Uhmm…are you going to buy that?"

"Of course since I'm already here."

"But you don't have your wallet."

"...Fuck."

Nova sweat dropped realizing her mistake feeling defeated that she couldn't buy them since some were limited edition with little stock in the market. Caelum laughed a bit recalling the time he was in a similar situation. 

"Don't worry my comrade, I shall buy them for you."

"Wait really?! I'm in your debt, how will I ever pay you!"

"Start by sharing those copies with me."

"Sure sure! You can visit my home."

Nova expression lit up while Caelum warily smiled at how she can either be energetic and sluggish in near instantly. The two finish paying for the items before parting ways after she tells him her address. He was amazed how that girl easily trusted him after meeting for the first time but shrugged it off since he gained some to share his interest with. 

It was now around 9 in the morning and Caelum headed back home when he notice Liliena and Annie were getting harassed by a white hair guy that he recalled being Axel Bardot, the son of William Bardot which was the second largest shareholder of Eternum below Caelum after he gain the reward. 

"Hey, why don't you two come with me, I can show you a great time."

"Fuck off before I castrate your balls!"

Liliena showed her middle finger having no interest in who that person may be since she's not an easy target. The one who bullied in the past only gang up on her was the reason she lost. Caelum wasn't the only one who was taught how to defend themselves when they were younger. 

"Oh come on, I can buy you like any other woman."

"Hah! I'd rather fuck cactus than your cum looking motherfucker!"

"Liliena calm down…we shouldn't start a fight."

"Like hell I care! Hey if you can't take a hint then don't blame me for beating your ass."

She quickly moved while Annie tried to stop her but it was too late and kicked the young master in the balls causing the person to wince in pain. Caelum chuckled proud seeing her sister giving no fuck against bastard like him. 

"Gaaah! Y-You bitch!! Don't you know who I am!?"

"Son of bitch, that's who!"

This infuriated Axel even further, unable to accept that people were disobeying him when he always had everything he wanted.

"YOU FUCKING SLUT!!"

"Easy there."

Axel lashed out and was about to punch Liliena when Caelum released a tiny bit of his bloodlust causing the young master to freeze from fear. He would have been dead if Caelum had something that he wanted to do.

[ Side Mission ]

[ Objective: Mess with William and Axel Bardot life. Do not kill and should take time to ruin their lives ]

[ Reward: Random ]

He didn't need the mission to mess with him since his eyes felt disgust on what he was seeing. The [ Divine Heavenly Vision ] is able to see the karma level of a person and this young man makes him pure. A karma would decrease if those who you mess or kill have considerable negative karma would not affect your own karma. 

Caelum narrowed his gaze ignoring the young master turning his attention to Liliena and Annie. 

"Glad you're here brother! His ass just got saved or I would have already made him eat dirt."

"Indeed, Where are you two heading?"

"Oh me and Annie just got a call from Mary telling us to meet up. You should definitely come with us! Right, Annie?"

"Y-Yes, definitely!"

Annie was off since she felt anxious around him after learning he might know how she feels and ruin her friendship with his sister. Caelum noticed this quickly patted her head causing Annie to calm down.

"No need to worry, I'll be there once I'm done talking to this guy." 

"Alright, brother! Let's go Annie." 

Liliena took her friend who gave a final glance to Caelum who only warmly smiled before turning leaving him with the arrogant boy. Caelum glances at the frightened person releasing him from his grip letting Axel breath and glared back at him.

"Y-You! All of you!! Do you have any idea who I am!? I can make your life a living hell!!"

"And I can bring you into one. I'll warn you this one time…..enjoy your glory while it lasts."

Caelum turn his back following his sister leaving Axel infruitated who tried attack behind his back only to be met with multiple strike to the face and abdomen cousins his body to spasm in the floor then was terrified when a foot always crush his face then look at Caelum dead emotionless gaze. He simply stared at him yet felt his whole life would dedicate his fate.  

"Fuck off."

He menacingly said leaving the young man who had pissed himself out of fear while Caelum laughed it off walking his way where Liliena and Annie were waiting for him. They headed to the subway station before arriving at the spot where they met up with Mary.
