1 Chapter 1: Did I just get Isekaied?

In the midst of a moderately sized bedroom, bathed in the soft glow of sunlight, Adam stood by the window, his gaze fixated on the vibrant and lively scenery outside. Laughter and chatter drifted through the air, a stark contrast to the solitude within the room.

A deep sigh escaped Adam's lips as beads of sweat formed on his forehead. The sweltering heat that enveloped the city was suffocating, a relentless reminder of the global warming crisis plaguing the world. Summers had become an inferno, scorching everything in their path, while winters held a bitter cold that seeped into bones.

Yet, it wasn't just the weather that troubled Adam. The cacophony of thoughts swirled in his mind, echoing his frustration and despair. How could people revel in the outside world and exude cheerfulness amidst such unbearable conditions?

His introspection was rudely interrupted by the grumbling protest of his empty stomach. The rumbling sound reverberated through the room, serving as a reminder that sustenance was necessary. Glancing at the time displayed on his phone, Adam realized that he couldn't delay any longer. It was time to venture outside in search of nourishment.

With a sense of resignation, Adam changed into a pair of simple shorts and a t-shirt, carefully chosen to combat the blistering temperatures. As he stepped out of his home, little did he know that this mundane act would forever alter the course of his life.

A commotion erupted behind him, but before he could even react or turn around, a searing pain shot through his back, accompanied by a violent shove that sent him crashing to the ground. Dazed and disoriented, he struggled to comprehend what had just transpired.

The last things Adam witnessed before losing consciousness were the expletives spat by a man and the sight of a robust figure clad in pink, donning a tightly fitting outfit and a pink mask, rapidly fleeing the scene.

Voices, loud and jumbled, swirled around him. Amidst the chaos, fragmented words reached his ears. "Quick!" "Police!" "Ambulance!" The urgency in their tone added to his confusion, leaving him struggling to piece together the events unfolding before him.

A surge of cold dampness spread across his back, mingling with the pain that still throbbed within him. Time seemed to slow as his consciousness wavered, teetering on the precipice of darkness. In that moment, a flicker of hope emerged.

"Dear God, if you truly exist, please grant me an easier life or even the possibility of reincarnation." thought Adam while remembering various web novels and light novels he had read in his lifetime

However, before Adam's consciousness completely faded away, it abruptly vanished, leaving those around him none the wiser. When the ambulance finally arrived, an hour too late, he was officially declared dead.

"Hey Will, wake up! Don't keep on sleeping, or that grumpy old man Tuluin will come and punish you in front of the whole class again," a voice pierced through Will's consciousness as he reluctantly opened his tightly shut eyes.

Slowly sitting up from his sleeping posture, Will glanced around, his confusion evident. With a hushed voice, he murmured, "Where am I?"

"Huh, still dreaming? Well, can't blame you. I think half of the people in our class couldn't sleep well due to the excitement. Today, we'll finally be able to transfer to our jobs and graduate from this place," said the young man sitting next to him. He had brown hair, brown eyes, and a wheat complexion, dressed in a medieval European-themed commoner outfit.

"What do you mean..." Will's attempt to ask a question was abruptly cut short as a mind-blowing headache struck him. He grunted, visibly in pain, but the ordeal lasted no more than ten seconds.

Yet, even after the pain subsided, Will's brain felt overwhelmed. During that brief but intense headache, memories flooded his mind—memories of two different people: Adam Olson and Wilhelm Theodore.

After processing the two distinct sets of memories, Will, now in Wilhelm's body, realized that his last wish had been granted. He had been transmigrated to this world, where individuals transferred to different jobs that granted them corresponding skills.

"Hey, are you okay? You don't seem to be feeling well," a concerned voice interrupted Will's thoughts.

Glancing at the man beside him, Will recognized his childhood friend, Adrian Greens.

"I'm sorry, Adrian. No need to worry. I just didn't sleep well last night," Will reassured him, not wanting to burden Adrian with his concerns.

"Oh, okay. I thought you were about to die, lol," Adrian joked, attempting to lighten the mood.

Will cast a side glance at him, not in the mood for banter.

Before their conversation could continue, the cough of an old man echoed through the classroom. Will's thoughts immediately turned to what Adrian had mentioned earlier—the grumpy old man, Tuluin, and the punishments inflicted upon those caught sleeping during class.

"Pssst," Adrian whispered from the side. "Hey, Will, Tuluin seems to be in a good mood today."

Observing Tuluin's expressions, Will noticed a rare lack of grumpiness. "Yeah, seems like it... I wonder what happened to him today. It's unusual for him not to be grumpy," he replied to Adrian.

"Ahem," Tuluin cleared his throat, capturing the attention of the entire class.

With a wide smile on his weathered face, Tuluin cheerfully announced, "Congratulations, everyone! Today marks the last day I will be the homeroom teacher of this... ahem... 'worst class' that I had the misfortune of teaching throughout my noble career."

Simultaneously, a collective "Tsk" sound reverberated through the class in response to Tuluin's remark.

Unfazed by their reactions, Tuluin continued, "Alright, keep your thanks and all your gratitude to yourselves." His words garnered another round of "Tsk" from the students.

Although everyone responded with disapproval, a keen observer would notice a tinge of sadness in their expressions. Despite his gruff demeanor, Tuluin genuinely cared for his students, and they would deeply miss him.

Concluding his comical facade, Tuluin assumed a serious expression. "Alright, Class 3-B, it's time for job transfer. Everyone, get off your seats and follow me."

Without waiting for anyone's response or showing any concern for their reactions, Tuluin turned right towards the exit, starting to walk as if it didn't matter whether anyone followed or not.

Unbeknownst to the students, right after Tuluin turned away, a satisfied smile crept onto his stern face, vanishing as quickly as it appeared.

As they stared at Tuluin's retreating figure, the students understood his unspoken message. They knew it was time, and without hesitation, everyone rose from their seats, rushing to follow behind him—Will and Adrian included.
