Max woke up with a cold sweat, his heart racing as he gasped for air. He was back on the ship he had been captain before the transmigration had happened. It took him a few moments to realize what had happened - he was back in time.
Memories flooded back to him, of everything that had happened since he had arrived in this new world. The battles, the betrayals, the loss of Lyra. Max felt a crushing weight settle over him as he realized that he was powerless to change any of it.
He sank to the floor, his head in his hands, and wept.
But then he heard the voice again - the same voice that had spoken to him before. It spoke of his powers, and of the importance of finding Lyra.
Max pulled himself to his feet, wiping away his tears. He knew what he had to do.
He made his way to the bridge of the ship, determined to change the course of events. But as he looked out at the starry expanse before him, he realized that he had no idea how to stop what was coming.
And then, suddenly, he remembered the planet on the outer edges of the Galaxy - Elysium. It was there that everything had begun, and perhaps it was there that he could find a way to stop it all from happening again.
Without hesitation, Max set a course for Elysium. But as he traveled through space, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched.
When he arrived at Elysium, Max knew that something was wrong. The planet was overrun with Zarokians - the same enemy that tricked him in his other life. Max tried to turn the ship around, but it was too late - he was caught in a tractor beam and dragged down to the planet's surface.
Max managed to escape in a Hunter class Corvette from the ship, just in time to watch The Odyssey get destroyed as it entered Elysium. Max felt a pang of grief for his former crewmates, but he knew that he had to keep moving forward.
As he flew away from the destruction, the voice spoke to him again, urging him to find Lyra once more. Max felt a renewed sense of purpose as he set a course for wherever his instincts led him next.
