13 Chapter 13: Danger like never before

Zephyr, sensing danger, jumped back. However, even as he landed in the distance, no attack came.

Arthur stood straight, his eyes like that of a completely different person. "Since you've made your choice, I'll let you face your fate as a Knight. I'll grant you the mercy to sacrifice your life for your Lord!"

He grabbed the sheath with one hand, and the hint of his sword with another, slightly pulling it out.

The Sword was only out by an inch, yet its aura was already overwhelming, filling the air with an electrifying presence, destroying the surroundings. A crater formed beneath Arthur's feet, the raw power of the sword pulsating with each passing moment.

"If you can survive this, I shall let you leave with that kid!" he said. However, just the power that was emanating from the Sword was enough to show the might that this bloody sword was hiding.

Even Zephyr could feel that if he faced the attack head on, he was going to die. Not even his body was going to be left behind. However, he knew that he couldn't run either.

The spatial laws themselves were destroyed by the Sword. Even if he left, the reality of Raven's clone was going to be exposed, which could put the real Raven in danger.

Zephyr didn't run. He didn't even think about running away. He stood close to Raven's clone. If with his death, Raven's safety was going to be ensured, he was more than willing.

He knew that Arthur alone was a threat, but if Hades also joined, things could get even more dangerous. Before Hades arrived, he had to die with the fake Raven so their search could stop.

'I'm afraid I won't be able to see you rise to your rightful place..' Even at this moment, he was still thinking about Raven and his future.

Alright Arthur had stated that no matter how many times they tried, the cycle was going to repeat itself, Zephyr's trust in Raven wasn't shaken in the least.

Even at the face of the attack, Zephyr created two swords of his own, rushing ahead, his surroundings turning darker with each step he took.

Arthur pulled out the complete sword from the sheath, the space itself splitting in two. The more the space tried to heal itself, the more it was destroyed as the sword left a trail of nothingness in its wake.

A single slash and it felt like the world was ending. Zephyr knew this was his last moment. But he didn't regret it. He carried a smile on his face. He was sacrificing his life for Raven.

Although he was sad that he couldn't accompany Raven in his journey, he also felt happy that he could protect Raven until his last breath.

As the void reached Zephyr, everything turned dare. Zephyr attacked, but his attacks were swallowed by the voice that intended to swallow him as well.

Zephyr closed his eyes, accepting his last moment, still not showing any fear. He was a warrior of his Lord. He could never show fear to an enemy. Until his last breath, he stood tall.

Before long, the darkness swallowed him entirely, still not stopping. Thousands of miles were swallowed by the attack which devoured all the signs of life.

In its wake, the attack only left devastation. Animals, plants, even the earth itself was consumed by the relentless force.

Looking at the signs of wreckage, no one could've guessed that this was all caused by a single Sword. It was caused by the King of Camelot.

*****

Near the wreckage of the Sky Fortress, Merlin was bleeding from his lips, his body covered in wounds. On the other hand, Hades was completely unharmed.

Only now Merlin understood that Hades wasn't weak. If anything, he was too strong. He was a monster like Arthur.

As he kept protecting himself from the attacks, he wondered how long Arthur was going to need. He was getting close to his limits, feeling as if he was going to get hurt badly if he continued this battle.

While the battle continued, the entire Earth started trembling as the temperature in the surrounding increased, a gush of warm air rushing in from the distance.

"Looks like he is done." Merlin looked into the distance, his face carrying an expression of relief.

"I think this should be enough of a battle for the day." He waved his hand, revealing a mocking smile. Dust started rising around him, circling around him, obscuring him from the view.

"You're not going anywhere!" Hades roared. Unfortunately, Merlin was the best when it came to escaping. Even Hades wasn't able to stop him, especially since he hadn't expected that man to escape like a coward.

"The next time I see you, I'll take your head!" Hades roared before turning his attention to the source of these warm winds. He could only think of one person whose attack could've caused such a large scale damage.

His assumption was proven to be correct.

"Arthur!" His expressions darkened as he ran in the direction.

....

Even after using such an attack, Arthur looked perfectly relaxed as if it wasn't even a moderately strong attack for him.

"I thought I might be able to fight to my heart's content. I'm disappointed by the battle, but his bravery and loyalty did impress me. What a pity that he was so stubborn."

He turned his back on the battlefield, about to put his sword back in the sheath. However, before he could put the sword back, he sensed something. He sensed danger.

He turned around, his face filled with surprise as he saw a figure in the centre of the crater. It was Zephyr, who appeared completely unharmed.

Even Zephyr was in shock, his face pale. He thought he was going to die, but he didn't feel any pain. When he didn't feel anything, he opened his eyes, shocked to find himself still alive in the middle of the destruction.

"I thought I gave you a command." A few words took shape before Zephyr.

Reading the words, Zephyr's expressions went pale. "You... But..."

Arthur also felt something. He could feel danger... A danger like never before.

Both of them looked in the same direction, noticing a young boy stepping towards them, steps soft yet perfectly synced with godly laws.

In the left ear of the young boy, a very peculiar earring could be seen hanging.
