“At first I’ll go and talk to the therapist alone,” he continued, “but later, we’ll be together. I think you’ll find it’ll be a good thing. Clean a few cobwebs out of that brain of yours.”
“Sounds creepy, but what about money? In view of everything that’s happened, can we afford it?”
Dezi smiled. “Rox, we’re filthy rich.”
“But how can that be? Your father—”
“Rox, I’ve got money of my own. I may not be the rich son of a bitch my father is, but I’m okay, so don’t worry about it.”
“But, Dezi, this is a terrible thing. I’ve created a chasm between a father and his son. I just…it’swrong, that’s all.” While he ran his fingers through his hair, he got up from the table abruptly and walked away.
