1 Entry to the Tribulation tower

The Tribulation tower is a large black tower located in the pacific ocean and rises from the seafloor and reaches into the Mesosphere.

The name Tribulation Tower originates from the fact on September 3rd, 2031, everyone saw the same message from a screen like an interface "The Tribulation welcomes Earth"

Since then multiple missing cases started appearing, which were later found out to be people entering the tower, and meanwhile, people also started awaking to superpowers. The abilities awakened could range from physical, magical, and more specific classifications like soul.

From this ranks and classes were made to classify people to hold the order and help people get training that wanted to enter the tower.

And for the scaling of the ranks, it would be G-F-E-D-C-B-A-S

G would be the rank for the non-Awaken but most people usually don't call them G rank and just uses the term from before non-Awaken.

While these powers were quite dangerous people felt that they couldn't bring out the full power they wielded. It is speculated the powers can only be fully brought out in the tower but is currently unknown as no one has returned from the tower either dead or incapable of after twenty years.

As for myself, my name is Aragato Izumi but of course, I go by Izumi, I was part of the 70% that awakened from the past 20 years sadly though only as an F-rank.

Since I'm an F-rank I don't get any free training as my current living situation would hold, training myself how to use weapons was my only choice. Of course, It's not that I have to train and enter the tower but rather I want to. As I have no family due to a rouge ability wielder and my current house is apartment kitted with a broken-down bed, kitchen that only hosted a fridge and a microwave and, a living room with a small tv couch and some old stands. I see no reason not to take a chance to change my life as doing nothing wouldn't help.

"Hmm should I enter today"

despite my want for it, it doesn't disable the fear of the unknown

"You know what! I'm gonna enter!" "In maybe another week"

"Voice activation heard transportation initiated" A voice sounded

"huh?" "Wait I was joking" "A JOKE!" " You know the thing that someone says to cause amusement or laughter"

"Welcome to your tribulation Aragato Izumi" The voice sounded out once again

"I did not consen-"

A blue crack appeared behind Izumi which spread open to reveal a dark void that pulled and swallowed him up then dissipated.

All that was left was an only old apartment.

"Welcome to the tower your entry test will begin in a few moments"

A blue-robed figure spoke to me as soon I awoke.

"HEY HEY I didn't consent to be pulled here"

"But the tower only takes people who use a voice line young one?" the figure spoke out

"I was making a joke..."

"Then learn from your stupidity"

"Can I at least know what the test is"

Before I could finish registering what he said the same rift took me again.

A young boy with black hair and purple eyes could be seen startled in a forest. It looked as if he was staring into nothing while reading something

"Straight forward speaking option 2 is harder but, is it really?"

"If traps count towards kills and the monsters aren't strong enough to resist them, then I could easily just bait and trap 10 monsters"

"Option 1 lets me hide though the whole time which doesn't force me into encounters"

"Once again though I never know what could happen in that time"

"There's also a further question as if monster gain strength over time but, giving the difficulty I doubt that"

"So the best decision I think would be to test if traps work then make plenty and bait monsters into them while leaving myself escape room in case they are stronger than expected and just transition to option 1"

"Gee thanks for the powerful weapon" I stated with clear sarcasm.

"This will be useful though for the plan"

Instantly getting to work I grab multiple thick branches and started carving sharp points on all of them until they seemed deadly and pointy enough.

I then went and got some more and repeated the process.

After gaining about 50 spikes I moved to Phase Two.

I planted about 25 of them hidden in a thick bush hiding them from visible sight but, ready to pierce.

I then made a small dirt line that could only be seen if you were looking for it.

"Now the most exciting and dangerous phase the third one, leading a monster into it"

I grabbed a couple of rocks and then pocketed them.

After securing my bait tools I started stalking the surrounding area looking for a living creature of sorts.

After about 15 minutes of scouting, I found a giant red Ogre that was searching around solo.

"Man I thought Goblins were the starter enemies, not Ogres" I Whispered to myself.

Well now or never.

I distanced myself a bit from the Ogre then threw the rock at him.

The rock flew through the air smacking straight into the dirt next to him missing.

The Ogre alerted to look at the direction it came from and saw me.

"aim bad"

"...."

"now you food for us"

the Ogre exclaimed as he ran towards.

and I of course bravely ran away towards my trap.

"You no escape"

Shit, he's fast.

Despite the Ogre's large frame, his speed was extremely agile and his steps were clearly powerful as I could see huge clumps of dirt flying from his steps.

Luck would have it though that I made it to my trap before it could reach my location.

I jumped over the trapped bush which the Ogre then stupidly ran straight into the object that I suspiciously avoided, impaling himself

"AHHHHHH YOU DAMN HUMAN!"

Not quite the smart one are you?

Despite his scary screams, he was quite disabled from his waist down as it was currently riddled with my spikes.

"Sorry buddy either you or me and of course I pick me"

I took my knife and went to swiftly take his head off when suddenly hit swung his club towards me

since he was lower down and not in an effective position it was slower than it could have been but, still fast enough to only give me time to flexibly block with the small knife that I shortly practiced with my self-learning sessions.

*Boom*

The club smacked into my knife which then launch instantly into a tree hitting my left arm

A loud crunch could be coming from my arm and a crack sound from the tree breaking apart.

"heh..... I guess... I'm not quite smart myself"

I staggered picking myself up and staggered over to the rest of the spikes as my left arm dangled

I then started picking them up throwing all of them at the ogre with my only working arm

after throwing 9 of them, 5 sank into his body and a screen popped up confirming the kill

I rambled to myself trying to ignore the pain.

A blue portal then opened up instead of the usual non-consensual rift.

I then immediately jumped into the portal.

"Hope it doesn't put me asleep this time though."
