1 Prologue

The tower stood indomitable in the face of its many ascendants. It remained unchanged for the millennia it existed in this world. In the past, it gave birth to many monstrosities, but few could match him in his brutality. The man in question laid motionless on the cold of the stone floor of a dimly lit room, nailed in the chest with a black spear. His face wore a vicious grin breaming with cruelty and hate, obstinately staring at the distant ceiling.

Suddenly, he spat with incredible vigour despite his sorry form:

" This tower shall fall. Do you bloody hear me you damned abomination? Do you think someone like you can bring an end to the sorts of I?"

Deafening silence greeted his cry. Countless years passed since his words, the man still continued to stay still there moving his eyes erratically as if looking for someone. His hysterical laughter reverberated through the walls brimming with decay and vermin. The pests and rodents slowly ate away his flesh. Yet he still giggled with unimaginable joy, as if his predicament was a joke of sorts. Centipede founded their nests in his eyesockets, slowly devouring his insides. Despite being blind long ago, he continued to look as if waiting for someone's arrival, someone to tell his joke to.

When nothing remained of the poor body but the black spear, a shadow was cast on the dreaded weapon. The laughter sounded yet again in those dungeons as if awakened from its endless slumber.

The overjoyed voice giggled and repeated countless time with untiring effort.

"The tower shall perish, and I will be the end of it."

"The tower shall perish, and I will be the end of it."

"The tower shall perish, and I will be the end of it..."

The phrase might have been the repeated thousands of times before the spear was taken from the ground. A comforting silence finally came.

The shadow left the room with no word spoken, its presence a mere myth at this point. The man became nothing but the mark left by the spear on the concrete floor.

Nevertheless, his wish would be granted in the end.

However, the chosen one would not be worthy.

However, the chosen one would be the right one to have them.
