Ch. 48 Archimedes

( Third Pov )

On the second floor of the Archimedes, in the pool side, there Seung and Ashborn are sitting on a beach chair as he watches Yui and Arie playing in the pool.

Seung I'm a drowsy state as he looked at the ceiling succumbing to his slumber.

" You should rest, Seung. You've done a good job leading us up the floors. You deserve some rest." Ashborn glanced at Seung, who had a thumbs up before falling asleep.

Ashborn still kept his sharing on as he covered it with sunglasses to hide his eyes as he stared at Arie in the distance.

Her enchanting smile and the way she plates with Yui, it warmed his heart. Memories of the days of him and Arie bickering and challenging each other resurfaced in his mind.

Especially the day he fell in love with her.

' Focus. I should scout out the regulars here.' Ashborn reprimanded himself as he turned his attention elsewhere.

' Hm?' Arie noticing Ashborns gaze not on her looked at him and saw him looking around the pool.

" You think dad is checking other women?" Yui said as she looked at her father in the distance.

" Sigh, if he really was. I would pull his eyes out. Besides, I'm pretty sure he's just observing the regulars in the archimedes. Arie replied as she got the instruction to gather info on the regulars in the pool.

" Arie, how did you and dad become a thing?" Yui asked.

" Well, let's say I caught your father having a nightmare in his sleep. I guess it was pretty awful that he didn't distinguish his sword from me. "

Yui looked at Arie in doubt. " Father having a nightmare? I think you're being delusional." Yui replied as she swam towards Ashborn.

" Well, I stayed by your father that night. In the end, I fell asleep in your father's arms and slept on his chest till the morning."

" Ew. Did you guys..." yui trailed off as she felt her father's hand on her head.

" No, we didn't." He answered as he pulled Yui out by the back of her neck.

" So, no sibling?" She asked as she looked at Ashborn, who kept holding her in the air.

" No." He replied as he threw her on his beach chair and helped Arie out of the pool.

The team sat on their chairs, enjoying the peaceful time while eating fruits as they observed the pool area. Sometimes, they would change locations to gather information on another spot.

Even carrying Seung, who kept sleeping.

" So, how did you get that scar?" Yui tapped her finger by the side of Ashborns side.

" That was from a bullet. A .308, it peirced through, I couldn't stop the bleeding before my friend helped me and burned the wound to close it. Asborn satisfied Yui's curiosity while Arie listened in.

" Amd this one?" Yui pointed at another on his left forearm. Ashborn has many scars on his body to the point that Ashborn never ran out of stories to tell.

It was surprising to hear Ashborn explain each one. He never forgot every star and injury that was inflicted onto him.

" And this?" Yui smirked as she pointed at Ashborns foot. Ashborn stared at Yui with a complicated face.

" Didn't I tell you?" He narrowed his eyes at Yui, who stuck her tongue out.

" Oh? I never heard what happened?" Arie looked at Ashborn with a smile. Arie smelled a good story as she looked at Ashborns cold face.

Ashborn sighed before explaining.

" It's... from my own knife... that I threw..." Ashborn muttered, but Arie manages to hear it as she starts laughing.

" Hahaha!!! You...! Hahaha!!" Her uncontrollable laughter infected Yui, who joined in.

Ashborn sighed as he closed his eyes and wished to be invisible at the moment. Even Seung, who is supposed to be resting, is smiling.

" Alright, let's change spots." Ashborn changed the subject as he got up and flicked Yui's forehead before running away.

" Ah! Get back here! Dad!" Yui shouted as she chased down Ashborn.

" Hahaha!!" Ashborn laughed in the distance as Yui tried to keep up.

" Sigh, let's go." Arie tapped Seung's arm before following them, swung sighed as he followed as well.

Back to Ashborn and Yui, Yui slammed into Ashborns back as he stopped to look at a green girl kicking a man in a tracksuit.

" Yui, let's go back. Hurry." Ashborn pushed the confused fox back to where they came.

" Huh? It's Princess Endorsi!!" Yui shouted as she ran up to Princess Jahad.

' Shit!!' Ashborn cursed in his mind he didn't want to meet these guys at the moment.

" Huh?" The group looked at the fox running towards Endorsi for an autograph. Asborn wondered if she kept the photo in her tail or something.

" Ash..." Arie looked at Ashborn but noticed Endorsi and her team. Seung was too tired to think or see as he lay on the floor.

" Oh? What an adorable little girl! Where's your parents?" Endorsi rubbed Yui's head as Yui pointed at me.

" Dad is right, right!...eh?" Yui looked to see Ashborn disappeared, leaving only Arie and Seung, who is still on the floor.

" Oh? Why is he on the floor?" Endorsi asked as she looked at Seung.

" Ah? That's not him, I swear he was around..." Yui muttered as she looked at Arie, who shrugged.

" Thank you for signing Yui's photo. It's a pleasure to meet you, Princess Jahad." Arie bowed before taking Seungs leg and Yui's hand to leave.

As they took the hallway to leave, they found Ashborn leaning against the wall as he ignored the woman that were eyeing him.

Arie's lighting control scared them off as she sent a bolt at their feet.

" So, why did you..."

" Dad, do you have a crush on Princess Endorsi?" Yui interrupted Arie as she looked at Ashborn, who raised an eyebrow at her.

" You can say we took the same test together, but her personality is like a.... a disaster. It's best she doesn't find me. We don't know how reckless she'll be." He replied.

Back to Endorsi's team. Anak sniffed the air as she smelled a familiar scent but didn't know where. She tried to remember the scent but soon gave up.

' A strong smell...' she looked around and stared at the spot where Ashborn was sitting before following it to a nearby exit.

She frowned before shrugging as she continued to abuse sweatshirt.
