Ch. 22 Friends...

( Zero Pov )

" Mic test! Mic test! One two three! Good morning.regulars! This is Lero Ro. Did you all have breakfast? I know yesterday's Yes was exhausting, but don't just stay in your bed and eat your meals. "

" For your information, all the food is free now that the tests are over. For those who didn't eat much to conserve points, please help yourselves! Though, to be honest, the food here isn't very good."

"Now, tonthe main topic... tonight at 6 pm, the list of regulars who will take the final exam will be announced! All regulars please come to the first hall by 6 o'clock! Alright, that's it! Bye!"

I after Lero Ro finished his announcement, I was done swinging my sword and decided to have breakfast after staying up all night.

I saw Khun leaving the cafeteria, leaving Androssi behind as she looked at her food.

" Oh! Hey! Zero, do you mind accompanying this princess?" She smiled as i got my tray.

" You're a cruel lady, you know that?"

" Of course!" She replied as she held her headbwithbher palm.

" I wouldn't have mind, but you ate my chocolate." I replied as I left her behind.

I heard others snickering on the side.

" She's got dumped." They all whispered.

A few minutes after eating, I was about to go back to training but saw Bam walking, asking towards Khun's room with a solemn face.

" Oh? Zero..."

" Bam, you look a little down. Is your friend okay?" I asked.

He nodded as he looked at Khuns room.

" Rachel, she....her legs...." beforenhe could continuentonspeak I stopped him.

" It's best to say it to your team than to me." I spoke, which Bam nodded in return.

He opened the door and entered as Rak and Khun looked at him. And adding peeked inside, I saw Rak's state. He turned into a child.

' Wha...!!!?' I felt something I never expected it was a funny feeling as I heard myself laughing.

" Hahahaha!!! The dinosuar!! He...he! Hahaha!! Turned!... small!! Hahaha!!" I pointed at Rak as he started fuming.

" Don't laugh! Silver turtle!!" Rak shouted as Bam tried to help me back to my feet as I almost felt myself falling to my knees.

After I managed to control myself and forced myself to walk out of the room as I sat against the wall.

I sighed, and every time I pictured Rak's small form, I started to chuckle.

After a few minutes, I started calming myself again as I realized something.

' That... that was genuine laughter...' I thought as I heard the door opening.

" Zero!" Bam exclaimed as he waved me into the room. I raised an eyebrow as I stood up and entered the room.

" Zero, I want to know, why do you climb the tower?" He asked.

" The Tower?" I looked at Khun and Rak behind before looking at Bam. I noticed this is a serious matter.

" Well, it's for... the friends I lost. Before I enter the tower. I want to bring them back." I replied as I looked at them.

They were silent as I decided to be to tell the truth. I knew climbing the Tower by myself was suicide, I needed allies and friends.

But was it right? It felt like I was replacing them.

' No... they would, that's how they are. They would want me to move on...' it was the truth after knowing them. They would rather cheer for me on the side than to suffer again.

" But now, I realize this isn't what they would've wanted. I guess I'm just climbing for the journey. Whether I die or not depends on fate." I replied.

Oh, I see it now. They want me to help them to the tower. But why? It wasn't until Bam told me he wanted to climb the tower for his friends sake.

' Friends, huh? I see. If you're willing the chance of death, then I shall support you. Bam.'

" I see. You'll do everything you could for you're friends Bam. Me? I would've done the same."

' Don't lose them like I lost mine.'

" You have my full support." I tapped his shoulder with a smile, which he returned as well.

' I'll make sure of it. That is my oath, and if I were to break it. My friends will curse me.'

" Well, it's will be nice to have you." Khun smiled as he shook my hand.

" Hmph! Don't slow us down, turtle!"

It was a weird feeling... making friends again.

We all sat on the floor with Rak, sitting on the bed.

" So... let's talk about how we're going to make to make it to the top of the tower." Khun spoke as he looked at us.

" The crocodile already passed his test. Zero, Bam amd I will probably pass the test. The problem is Rachel...."

" She has enough points to pass, but... she can't take the next test because she's injured. We have to ensure she makes it into the next test... we can't make decisions now because we don't know anything about the next test. So we need someone who knows about the test." Khun explained.

" Do we know anyone like that? " Bam asked.b

" We do... Lero Ro." I spoke gaining a nod from Khun.

" Yes, but leave that to me. And for Bam you must keep getting stronger. Zero, if you could please help him."

" Hm." I nodded.

" Don't try to chase Rachel... but to go up the tower along side with her."

Bam nodded.

" Okay, got it."

" Alright, let's build a bigger team. Let's get more people we trust to go up the tower with us." After Khun finished Rak started speaking.

" Hey! Turtle! What's my role then?" He asked.

" A mascot/ You're the leader." Khun and I spoke as we both looked at each other.

" In no Mascot! Turtle! I'm the leader!!" Rak shouted.
