Cruel Nature Of The Tower.

In a large hall with blue colored walls and white pillars stood about 60 regulars in groups of threes. The hall was noisy as the regulars conversed among one another.

After being teleported into the hall and seeing regulars of different races, Fang Yuan was momentarily surprised but showed none of it. He had already expected that after seeing the talking Headon.

Some regular looked human.

Other regulars also looked human but had either horn/horns on their head, different skin colors like red, green and yellow or either such distinguishing features.

Others also looked like animal like. For instance, one regular looked like a rat, another looked like a crocodile and another looked like a bull. But what was surprising was that, even these bizarre regulars could all speak, wore cloths and some even held weapons.

Other regulars also looked something otherworldly and completely different. One regular in particular looked liked a black ball. It had no eyes but just a slit across it surface showing black gaping which Fang Yuan presumed to be its mouth since weird sounds kept coming out of it. It was bouncing up and down on the floor.

After being teleported to hall, none of the Fang Yuan's teammates or Fang Yuan himself took the initiative or even suggest to interact with the other regulars after all who was to say they wouldn't become enemies the next moment.

"Counting the groups of regulars in the hall, only 22 teams passed. That's less than I expected." Igor suddenly said in a low tone as if he was talking to himself.

"Considering the fact that, only 100 regulars were left after the thinning out. It would be difficult to find others to form a team. After all, I presume the test area was huge. Besides you are ignoring the fact that ours may not be the only test area." Fang Yuan replied in an expressionless tone.

"You are right. I ignored those points. And indeed, ours is not the only test area. I am sure we will meet more regulars later and there will be more fun." Igor said with a wide and mischievous grin.

"When do you think she is ever going to talk to us? We are her teammates unless she is planning on betraying us." Igor continued to say coldly as he looked at their other teammate.

Indeed, after they had been teleported here, Igor had tried talking to her but received no reply. But Fang Yuan had never tried to speak to her since everywhere they moved she moved along with them. This proved tha, at least, she was cooperating with them. He didn't want to excessively interact with any tower born until he was sure of the situation in order not to reveal any flaws about his origins. And since she was cooperating, why should he bother her.

Before Fang Yuan could reply, he saw a young looking male human with brown skin color walk into the hall.

'He is really, really strong. Impossible to defeat or even escape from him... currently.'

Fang Yuan concluded as soon as he laid his eyes on the man. He couldn't really describe how he knew but as an experienced person who had lived for thousands of years, he tried his instincts. He felt a very dangerous and threatening aura from him.

"Quite down regulars!! Silence!!!!" The man said as he stopped and stood before the regulars. He had dark purple hair and eyes. He was quite muscular and stood about 2 meters tall. He wore a tight green shirt, black shorts, red shocks and blue sneakers.

"Hey, keep quite. I think that's a ranker."

Fang Yuan heard one of the regulars say to his teammates.

"You are right. I am an intermediate ranker with my main position being an anima and the test administrator for your first, second and next test. Now....." The man said but he suddenly stopped. He looked at a group of regulars who were whispering amongst one another.

"It would seem I need to make an example of some of you." The ranker said as he walked towards that group of regulars.

The group of regulars had stopped whispering among themselves when one of them saw the ranker walking towards them and prompted the others to stop whispering. They looked at the approaching ranker fearfully but none of them dared ran away.

The ranker approached them step by step and stood in front of them saying:

"Let me show you how weak and utterly insignificant you are."

As soon as the ranker's voice fell, the ever observing Fang Yuan saw a wave of shinsu appear out of nowhere, surround the regulars and press them to the ground. The regulars seemed to be bearing some of kind of heavy pressure as they lied on the ground helpless screaming. Soon, they all fell unconscious.

"That's what you get for disrespecting those in power." The ranker said then turned around and went back to his original standing position in front of the regulars.

Yanis was not shocked by the man's power. After all, in his previous world, in his prime, he could exhibit far, far, far greater power. His interest was just piqued.

"Now, let's continue before I was rudely interrupted. Let me introduce myself, I am Lo Po Bia Karl. The next test you will be taking has something to do with the gate behind me. That gate leads to another hall. For your third test, all you need to do is to pass through this gate as a team. Simple, right? Any questions?"

"Hmm please you said we need to pass through as a team, does...." One human male regular with red hair and dark eyes asked nervously whiles slightly shaking.

Karl didn't even let regular finish asking his question as he replied in a cold tone: "A stupid question but nevertheless, I will answer. Yes, it means that, if any member of your team fails to pass through that door, the whole team fails."

" That's so unfair!!" A human looking regular with blue skin color shouted with all his might.

Karl looked at him icy gaze and the regular couldn't help but take a step back. Ignoring the regular, Karl said: "Yes, truly unfair. Why should you be dragged down by those weaker than you? But Blame yourselves for choosing weak teammates and being unlucky. But if your teammates die during the test, are you still teammates? Oh and also the time limit for this test is two hours. Bye!!"

Upon hearing the Karl's last words, the regulars understood what he meant. Some regulars even started releasing killing intent at those they deemed weaker members of their team.

'This test, the tower is cruel. There will be a bloodbath.' Fang Yuan thought.

'But, that just happens to be my field of expertise.'

Karl looked at the commotion he had caused with a smile. He said nothing to diffuse the situation and left through the gate.

Upon seeing how easily he passed through the gate, some regulars tried to pass through but few passed through after some effort, others struggled to pass through and most failed.

"What do you think this test is about? Fang Yuan." Igor asked.

"It would seem like a wall of shinsu has been erected around the gate. Anyone with sufficiently high or decent shinsu resistance and/or some determination should be able to pass through." Fang Yuan replied calmly after some thought. He knew Igor was testing him and Igor was also trying to exert his dominance in the group through this way. But ultimately, he had failed since Fang Yuan was quite intelligent.

Igor nodded his head. Ignoring Igor, Fang Yuan took the lead and started walking towards the gate. He was not being impulsive by going first. Based on his high shinsu resistance on the first floor, he doubted a mere shinsu wall could stop him.

Igor quickly followed behind him and behind Igor was their ever silent team member.

Upon reaching the gate, Fang Yuan easily passed through the shinsu wall arriving at the other side.

'As expected.' Fang Yuan thought as he breathed a sigh of relief inwardly.

Igor and the other team member also easily passed through.

Passing through the shinsu wall, they arrived at another similarly large hall. This one though had light green colored walls and yellow pillars. In the hall were benches and chairs, they sat on a bench at the left side of the hall as they watched other regulars try to pass to pass through the shinsu wall.

As time neared for the test to end, most of the other regulars in the second hall whose teammate(s) had failed to pass through the wall started walking towards the shinsu wall. Their intention was simple, they were going to kill those team member(s) who had yet to pass through the shinsu wall.

Yanis and some of the other regulars watched coldly as the bloodbath happened. No one came to stop them. Soon no one was at the other side of the shinsu wall.

"Well well, that's surprising. Though the number of regulars have reduced quite a bit. I didn't expect 16 teams to pass. Amazing!! You batch of regulars sure are strong." Fang Yuan heard a voice full of mockery and sarcasm say when time for the second test was up. He knew that voice, it belonged to none other than test administrator Karl.
