New Test

Ryu was running at full speed, searching for 2 teammates. He lost track of the time, so he looked at his pocket and his eyes widened in shock.

"No way already. It felt like I was running for a few seconds.

Ryu kept running without stopping, hoping there were at least 2 regulars left and not all of them were killed by the 3 robed regulars.

"Cmon, where are you guys? I know you're here."

"HELLO, ARE THERE ANY MORE REGULARS HERE, WE NEED 1 MORE PERSON QUICKLY!"

Ryu heard a feminine voice shout from behind him and looking at his pocket (0:06) he used some shinsu to boost his speed.

'I know I'm not supposed to use shinsu right now, but I won't make it on time with my normal speed.'

Ryu's body blurred and disappeared, leaving a trail of dust behind him.

'Almost there. I can see them.'

'I can't stop. I'll have to tackle them.'

"We faile-" The boy tried to finish his sentence but was cut off by a blurry figure tackling him and the girl as if they were playing football.

"Congratulations to all the regulars remaining. you will now be sent to the next test spot."

<EVANKHELL'S MOTHERSHIP> <THE SECOND TEST POINT>

Ryu blinked a few times from the backlash of the teleportation. Looking around behind him, he noticed 3 familiar regulars.

"I'm surprised you made it," Ryu said with a calm voice.

"I'm also surprised. I thought we eliminated all the regulars. It looks like luck was also on your side." Endorsi said with an imaginary tick mark on her forehead.

Seeing Ryu just triggered her since he nearly eliminated them all.

"Hey, you! Why did you tackle us?" said the boy from earlier as he leaned his face towards Ryu with an angry expression.

He had black hair and green eyes and a sword on his waist. He was around the height of 170 cm (about 5.5) reaching up to Ryu's chest. (Ryu's height: 184 cm about 6.0)

Ryu looked down and stared at him with a straight face, staring straight into his eyes.

"I'm sorry for my brother's behavior. He doesn't understand what happened at that moment." said the girl who shouted earlier. She had red hair and blue eyes around the same height as her brother. (170 cm about 5.5)

"It's alright. I understand his confusion." Ryu completely lied, since he thought everything he did was reasonable, so there shouldn't have been any confusion.

"My name's Elaine and my brother's name is Jinwoo."

"Ryu."

They exchanged names and Ryu looked up and met eye to eye with the test administrator.

"Where are the other regulars?" The test admin asked.

"There aren't anymore regulars, it's just us." said the unknown robed girl.

"6 of you left out of 400 regulars. I didn't expect this but anyway my name's Quant. I'm the test administrator for the second floor and since there's only 6 of you, we'll take 2 quick tests."

"It's a very simple. If you can't complete it, then long story, short your weak. Now follow me." Quant yawned and turned around as he went through a hall to an empty white room.

"The first test is your reflex ability with a few extra things. It is possible that you'll die so you don't have to take part in this test even though it's a very slim chance that happens, but there is a reward for the winning team."

Quant was rubbing his chin, thinking of a reward for the winning team. After a few seconds, an imaginary lightbulb flashed above Quant's head.

"The winning team gets 1,000 points." Quant said with a proud look.

"Sir, 1,000 points to take part in a life and death test is a small amount in my eyes." Jinwoo spoke out.

"What's your name?" Quant asked Jinwoo.

"Jinw-"

"Jin, if you don't like the reward, don't participate." Quant said.

Jinwoo stared at Quant with an angry look.

"Now how this works is one person enters and takes the test. When you go in, everything turns black and needles will be fired at you. A screen on the outside will show how many needles you blocked. It gets harder and harder the longer you stay in. It ends once you get hit by a needle."

"Now whoever isn't participating come stand behind me."

No one moved but one person, the unknown robed girl. Ryu stared at her and noticed something odd about her.

'That girl is too weak to be in tower.' Ryu thought while staring at her walk to Quant.

"Now who want's to go first?"

A hand instantly soared up into the air.

"ME!" Jinwoo shouted.

"Jin, enter the room."

"My name's not Jin, it's Jinwoo!"

Jinwoo was furious that Quant said his name wrong for the second time.

"Just you wait. I'll set a record on this damn test." Jinwoo said as he stomped into the room.

"Also, I forgot to mention that the longer you stay in there, the more the concentration of shinsu increases."

After saying a few more things, Quant shut the lights off in the room and signaled the start of the test.

"Begin."
