92 The Blood Sigil

I returned to my room, lying down on the bed. The image of Lady Remilia in her nightdress lingered in my mind. She did look cute in it, but I quickly shook off those thoughts.

"Still... Who was that person calling my name in that empty void? It's familiar yet distant," I muttered to myself, my brow furrowing.

I sighed and got off the bed, walking over to the mirror. I examined myself closely. "My left eye's color turned red even though I didn't use that spellcard," I stared at my reflection while rubbing my left eye.

But then I closed my eyes and a vivid flashback surged through my mind.

"Shun, from now on, you will take care of Siesta," a deep voice with authority said to me.

Then, a teenage girl, perhaps even younger, had entered the room, her face beaming with a smile.

"Hello, my name is Siesta. You must be my personal butler! Let's get along well, okay?"

"My name is Shun."

Suddenly, the old man had smacked my head. "Is that how you address your mistress!?"

"Old man! It hurts!"

He smacked my head again. "Argh!"

"Pfft! Ahahahaha!" Siesta had burst into laughter, enjoying our exchange of punches.

I remembered it now—the first time I wore a butler's outfit was when I was adopted by my previous mistress's servants. They had cared for me and taught me.

Nostalgic.

I opened my eyes, gazing at my reflection once more.

"Are you done?"

That voice...

I spun around, startled to find Lady Remilia sitting on my bed.

"Lady Remilia, You should've knocked on the door..."

"I did but you were busy looking at yourself in the mirror."

Argh, That's kinda of embarrassing.

"Anyway, What is it that you need, Lady Remilia?"

"I'm just checking up on you. How are you feeling?"

"I feel fine..."

"Good. Let me explain what is happening to your body. Sit down here." She patted the sheet beside her, inviting me to sit beside her.

I slowly made my way to her and sat down, awaiting her explanation.

"Shun."

"Yes, Lady Remilia?"

Remilia began to explain, "This sigil placed in your right palm... Do you know that this sigil was actually the one that's been giving you supernatural powers? Do you remember the pact we made the first time we met?"

I nodded, my face flushing as I remembered, "I remember."

"Good. That means I don't have to explain it to you," she said, her tone softening.

She got off the bed and walked a short distance away from me, looking over her shoulder. "Shun... There might be a small chance that you will die from overusing your powers."

"Eh? You mean... If I overuse my powers too much, I'll die?"

Remilia nodded, her gaze unwavering.

"E-Eh?!" I stammered in disbelief.

"Calm down, I said 'small chance,' didn't I?"

I nodded, trying to regain my composure.

"That's why... I'm warning you, as your mistress... You're a human who controls blood. So be careful not to waste anything."

"Then... Lady Remilia, does this sigil mean I also have other supernatural powers such as night vision?"

"Sadly, no," she replied, her expression thoughtful. "I've noticed that every time you get injured or suffer broken bones... You immediately heal up in a short period of time..."

I looked at my right palm, where the sigil was glowing once again.

"Hm... That's bad."

Suddenly, Remilia surprised me by sitting on my lap and kissing me on the lips. My eyes widened in shock, and my heart raced as I wasn't expecting this at all.

Remilia didn't stop at the kiss but let her tongue into my mouth, her actions growing increasingly passionate. My face was crimson, and my thoughts scattered as I became entirely focused on the moment.

Slowly, I let go of the kiss, looking at her in a mixture of surprise and flustered awe.

She licked her lips, her expression still composed. "Well then... Tell me if your sigil starts glowing again. I'll take care of it," she said casually before getting off my lap and leaving my room.

I was left there, dumbfounded and flushed, my heart racing.

What had just happened? She kissed me... didn't she?

As I lay on the bed, my body began to heat up, and I broke into a sweat. "Ah, that's right... this happened too..." I muttered, fully aware of the aftereffects of what just occurred.

With a deep breath, I stared at the sigil on my right palm. "I still have a lot of questions to ask, but for starters, I shouldn't use too many spellcards, especially not that form or my last word."

With those thoughts, I closed my eyes, the sensation within me overwhelming. And then, once again, I lost consciousness.

Meanwhile, in Remilia's perspective, after she walked out of my room.

"I did it... I actually did it... That's what they call a French kiss, right?! Like from those manga!" Remilia's face was still flushed, and her heart raced at the memory.

"My heart almost stopped. Good thing Shun is not dense." She nodded to herself before leaving while covering her lips with her hand, an electrifying mix of emotions swirling within her.

"I should go ask that outsider again for more."1
