Chapter 12: EXPAND

I then heard a sound in the middle of these structures the temples floor, trembled a bit when I made my way to the site, I saw a series of sequenced floors shift to open up from the ground forming what seem to be a giant table with technology that seems to be out of place or should I say not from this time,

as a hologram of the planetary globe then popped open in front of me as I then heard multiple echoing footsteps behind me seemingly in a rush.

and when they reach my location they kneel on one knee while observing if there are any hostile things around the area when they confirm that everything was green they

waited for me to speak as I just stared at the device in front of me ignoring these individuals behind me until I sensed one of them behind me was eager to say something

"speak, what is it you want to say?" I said in a cold tone

one of the lizardmen, a Saurus to be exact bend down even more than the other individuals spoke

"My master, it seems that we had 2 casualties in the siege, I will take responsibility, as I didn't command them properly due to my senses being lost in blood lust, one died being surrounded and the other died while taking the hit for me" he stated as I still didn't look at them

"mm.. then for your actions of irresponsibility as the captain of your unit, with your own two hands, you will make a monument of those individuals that died at your command, and with each death, you will write the names of such individuals that you have failed to return alive, such tradition will be practice, with all commanders of the unit and if you die, I will personally write your name, such tradition will be practice from now on"

I sensed the emotions of the individuals behind me, from fear to awe and reverence

"now then, what are you waiting for, accept your punishment and be done with it,"

I said as I turned my head sideways to see them, then turned my attention once more to the futuristic command table in front of me as the lizardman stand up and began his punishment

as I then heard a system reward, stating how I increased loyalty max to all lizardmen and rewards for conquering the fortress

I then ignored the system and gave my attention to the table in front of me as it turned on when I placed my huge reptilian hand at it when a light flickered at my palm scanning it when It was finished scanning, the globe vanished and appeared a hologram of a warp like a figure an 'old one'

when it opened its eyes and looked at me 'horror' and 'fear' is the only feeling it gave of then 'realization' dawned upon the hologram figure as it scanned me with its senses up and down, inside and out

"Are you done?" I asked in a cold voice as I continued to scan the structure giving theories of how is this constructed from an architectural perspective

"yes..." it replied "It seems like our fears have come true, upon seeing you, child of the expanse and the collection of our race souls"

this made my head jerk giving him my full attention and asked "What do you mean by that?"

"that... I cannot tell you, at least not yet child" he stated mysteriously to which I just gave a sigh and shake my head, and replied "Fine"

"but... there are some things I can tell you, do you want to ask me questions? little one" he asked

"yes, a lot actually... quite a lot" I replied

"then let's play a game, of information bartering," he said with a playful tone in which I scowled and click my tongue

*tsk 'why don't you just be blunt and give me the answers.' I thought

and so in the next few hours, we both had a QnA exchange in which some answered my theories and queries about many things, but there was still that feeling that I was being led on and sometimes outright hidden answers
