1 The Beginning of the End

Dear Diary,

The school has partaken a huge place in my life. I'm already in my 12th grade but then I still have no plans for college like Wth? My parent's idealism of being their successor is way too stressful because I don't want to go either way they wanted me to be .....

Alexei was in the middle of writing her daily diary when she heard someone calling her by her second name.

"Morrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" Stephan shouted that out loud in a distant while running towards her.

Alexei's murderous gaze looks like she wanted to beat her ass immediately while glaring Stephan who just ignored it and pass through her cheeky smile. Oh well, that's a bonus, she knows how to annoy her best friend-enemy big time.

"What's wrong with you Stephan? You know that I don't want to be called by my second name! CALL ME ALEXEI!". It's hard to contain Stephan's laughter but she swiftly turns off the topic about her name when she waves her papers in front of Alexei.

"I got a scholarship at Craigmount University! I finally got a chance to enhance my potential in my field of passion" her eyes twinkled in enthusiasm as Alexei looks at her happily knowing that Stephan's hard work for months paid off.

Alexei and Stephan are both quite talented in writing, singing, dancing, arts, and acting. The only difference is Stephan has a clear look at what she wanted to do in her life and what course she wanted to be in and that's Fashion Designing. On the other hand, Alexei is more superior to Stephan at all angles but the problem is, she doesn't want to settle in one place. She is confused about what she will do next and way too dependent on her parents' decision towards her.

In reality, Stephan doesn't need that scholarship since she is also from a well-off family but one thing she wanted to experience is being a normal student without having special treatment because of money and connections.

However, Alexei was the drop-dead rich heiress who care less about luxuries and was just contented on having a pen, paper, and book.

What a total geeky!

"It's good to hear that you already had your University Scholarship Steph. Graduation is fast approaching and I still don't want to go to university. I still don't have a precise plan on what to do next" Alexei sigh while explaining her thoughts but she didn't want to ruin the moment her best friend has so they end up celebrating it and a nearby restaurant after school.

[ GRADUATION CEREMONY ]

The loud lively music filled the huge auditorium. It was filled with laughter, tears, excitement, and hopes. Students are happily wearing their graduation coats while busy discussing with everyone around them.

In the corner that's least noticed, there's a piercing eye with blank emotions silently spectating the movement of the crowd. Gazing from a distance a long-legged golden brown haired graduate.

....

The crowd has been settled as the ceremony started. The formalities of giving acknowledgment, welcome message, batch message, and awarding.

"Rome Vaughn Ylvar - Valedictorian!" Everyone gave their thunderous applause to a young handsome man while he walked in the stage heads up like he is the crowning prince receiving his multiple awards together with his batch title.

"Hey, Mori. Why does Vaughn so cold? He seems like he's not happy but still has the charisma to set your eyes on him". Stephan mumbled while clapping her hands but Alexei just shrugs her shoulders not minding others business anyway.

"Do good everyone, nothing in this life comes for free. Every hard work will be paid off" Vaughn shortly said to the crown before he walks down the stage and back to his seat.

"Alexei Mori Caulter - Salutatorian!" She walked on stage with her chin up and swaying her hips like she was on a fashion show and bow down to the professors on stage.

"Thank you everyone for this recognition but I believe this ain't the success we are waiting for. This is just the beginning of the untold journey that we need to walk unto. The beginning of the end" She metaphorically said and smile to everyone and walked down the stage back to her seat.

Alexei's parents look at her proudly and promised to themselves that she needs to be more than she thinks she will.

There is also a pair of eyes who is staring at her seriously that may pass through her soul and seems like reading in between her words. "A quel point es-tu, Alexei Mori?[1] " slightly enveloped by confusion but plastered with a smirk.
