Memories

The two sat in silence, enjoying one another. The best friends hadn't been able to lay together and just relax. It had been so long since the friends were quiet, not feeling the need to talk. Talking would ruin the solum moment. It would shatter the illusion they had created once again.

Izuku smiled and sniffed Katsuku's hair, enjoying the caramelly scent. The blonde didn't mind; he really liked being close to his old friend. He had forgotten how good it felt to be near him. The calmness he had always felt.

Midoriya felt his hands tremble, then the bubbling feeling filling his stomach. It wasn't the good kind. It felt like the happy little butterflies were trying to pull out his intestines. The awareness began crawling up his throat, inch by inch. The flower petals pushed past his tongue, flowing out in a series of coughs. His whole body began to shake from the violent fit he was having.

Izuku's eyes began to blur, the white room all merging together into a blob. The only real thing he could find himself focusing on was Katsuki. The blonde's spiky hair was the only thing he could see clearly. Midoriya reached for his friend's hand, a smile trying to form against his lips.

"Bye, Kacchan."

--------------------------------

Katsuki shot up as he felt Izuku's body twitch. It wasn't uncommon for Midoriya to get random body twitches from his quirk, but this felt off. Very off. Bakugou looked at his friend's body seize and fall from consciousness.

Katsuki felt the room go still. He couldn't process the fact that his friend was seizing. He didn't want to leave the bedside. He thought Izuku was getting better. What this his fault? This had to be some twisted lie.

Bakugou felt his hearing go in and out, not being sure what was real. All the colors in the room, starting merging together. He heard Ashido calling for him to move, but he couldn't. His legs and arms felt like lead. He could care less about the others in the room trying to talk to him; all he wanted was Midoriya to be okay.

That's all he thought he needed. The blonde's head began to swirl, leaving him in an even more conduced state. The people calling out to him got quieter and quieter until there was silence.

--------------------------------

The shack door scraped against the broken wooden floorboards. The smell of pine saw filled the young man's nose. It was so distant yet so close. The frecked male went to take a step in, only then remembering the hole right in front of the door.

Midoriya reminisced on the memory of Bakugou falling through. It was a rough day for the two of them. Izuku did get him out, but it was a struggle. The greenette chuckled at the remembrance of the fall.

Midoriya moved farther into the home, looking over the walls. The place had stayed pretty put together for not being touched. The scattered drawings of All Might, him, and Katsuki wandered the floor. Izuku bent down and looked over the pictures, tears building in his eyes.

All the pictures held such special yet essential moments in his life. Izuku sat and released the drawing. One of his favorite All Might blankets rested under him, practically pulling his leg. The blanket was forgotten over the years, just being used as a cushion against the broken wooden.

The smells of spilled soda and old snacks made Izuku feel even worse. The way he could feel Katsuki presence but couldn't see him killed him. The way every little thing in this shed was a shared memory yet was so empty.

--------------------------------

Katsuki awoke in a field of flowers; the gentle petals shaded and tickled his cheeks. The blonde sat up, confusion running over him. He knew where he was, but he couldn't place it. It was somewhere so familiar, yet it wasn't coming to him.

Bakugou pulled himself from the ground and began walking toward the wooded area. The path was practically paved with how smooth it was. Katsuki placed his hand on an old cherry tree.

--------------------------------

Izuku ran through the very heavily wooded area behind Katsuki's house. The two children loved to play in the woods for hours. They had climbed trees, gotten bug bites, gone camping, all of it. So it was never unusual to find them out there.

Izuku wanted to go outside so, that's where they ended up. Midoriya was running through the jungle-like trees, trying to hide from Bakugou. The game of tag had been going on for at least an hour, leaving the two ten-year-olds happy. Neither had thought about how their legs ached. They didn't know how great the sun was feeling as it tanned their skin.

Midoriya saw a clearing a few feet away. The greenette slowed his pace looking over the flowers. The field was full of different animals and plants. Izuku didn't even know half of them could live in Japan. The logical side of Midoriya cleared as he saw a small shack. It peacefully stood, looking freshly painted and abandoned at the same time.

Katsuki turned around the corner of the tree. He saw Izuku holding the edge of a cherry tree, looking over something. Bakugou moved closer to his friend, curiosity dripping from him.

Katsuki didn't say anything for a long while. They stood together, neither moving. The sun warmed both of the children's skin; the warm orange hue gave Izuku the courage to move toward the shed. The greenette turned and gave his best friends one of his big cheeky smiles.

"Come on, Kacchan, let's go check it out!" Midoriya held out his hand, and even cheeky grin sporting his lips.

The egotistical Katsuki said not to, but the blonde fought it and grabbed Izuku's hand," Let's go look at it."
