The only times she smile or laugh is when watching horror movies. She was so addicted to watching horror movies that it was now like comedy to her Waking up in the middle of the night and laughing like a maniac, scaring everyone in her mansion but no one dare complain.

CHAPTER 1
SHE DÉVÎL
" No!!! Please " Godiva screamed as she watch her once flawless body burn and itch badly.. her eyes were red and her face swollen
" Mom, dad " she cried as her pretty face was turning into another thing entirely
" I don't wanna die mom... I don't wanna die " she screamed back to reality.
Opening her eyes and realizing it was just a nightmare, she exhaled deeply
The Terrible nightmare of how her allergy started. She still couldn't figure out who made her that way, all she knew was what the doctor had told her; A dangerous substance was added to her body spray which made her that way.
Even normal local spray didn't do her any good, so she was avoiding the scent of body spray, air fresheners or anything that has to do with spray
She sat upright looking around like the witch she was... Her hair scattered everywhere around her face.
One would mistake her for a real witch or ghost at first glance
She glance at her wall clock and realized it was morning already.
She stepped down from bed and entered the bathroom, she sighted a gecko on the bathroom walls and she screamed drawing all the attention of the maids.
The maids rushed in, in lines as they stood in front of her
" Who is supposed to clean my room?" She demanded calmly
Her voice was so calm that her employees were left shivering. It was the calm before storm
" M.. me " A girl in her 20s raised her shaky hands in fright
" And why is there a gecko in my bathroom?" She asked, laughing even though nothing was funny
yes, "the devil's laugh" like her employees would call it
" I'm sorry ma'am, I didn't want to disturb your sleep" The girl cried
Oh, only if the naive girl knew she was doing what the beautiful devil hated most
Godiva has always hated when people cry in front of her. She considers them as hypocrites
She suddenly stopped laughing and stared at the girl. Her expression was now cold
" Enter there, pick that thing up and eat it. It mustn't escape and it mustn't be thrown away.." she said and walked to her bed while the maids gasped. No one could murmur or utter any words while in her presence
The girl sobbed gently as she advanced towards the bathroom but stopped Midway
" I'm sorry ma'am " she said falling heavily on her knees, bruising it in the process
" Please ma'am, I was only employed yesterday.. I don't wanna lose my job" she cried again while Godiva smirked.. "the devil's smirk" like her employees called it too
" What's your name?" Godiva asked looking concerned
The other maids who has been in the house for a month or two knew they were fake sympathy cause Diva was known to be "the devil's bride", very wicked and didn't care about anyone apart from her brother though
" Marisa " the girl said
" Oh! Marisa? " She acted surprised but suddenly burst into laughter and the maids glanced at each other
Marisa just stood perplexed, wondering what was wrong. she didn't know anything about Godiva since she was just employed the previous day
Diva laughed hard like those witches in fairytale, scaring those in the room
She stopped laughing abruptly and turn to the girl
" Eat the damn gecko then you're free to stay.. she said meanly and resumed laughing like a mentally deranged person.
Marisa's eye she couldn't do what her boss just asked of her.
" Please ma'am.. she laid on the floor and cried.
" You're FIRED " Godiva finally said and when she does, there's no point pleading cause she was never gonna change her mind.
She believes even the deities couldn't make her change her mind
" Lydia " she called on the head maid
" Ask someone to clean this up " she added and walked out of her room to the sitting room. She looked at the whole sitting room and laughed shortly
" You're clean.. she muttered before sitting on the couch. Her hands reach for the remote and she picked it up.
A frown creased her forehead at once when she beheld dust on it
" Lydiiaa... She called stressing the last syllable of the name
Lydia sigh, she knew Diva only add stress to her name when something is wrong and she needed to see everyone of them
" Why is there dust on the remote control? " She asked the first employee but she didn't utter a word. She did same to the second, third, till the tenth person but they were afraid to talk. She was already getting frustrated
She asked the eleventh maid and she nodded, admitting to her mistake before going down on her knees at once.
" I'm sorry ma'am, I cleaned everywhere but forgot the remote" the girl said in a shaky voice.. she knew Godiva wasn't someone who forgives wrong doings.. she was ready to accept her sack notice
Godiva stared at her then at the first ten employees she asked the question.
" You, you... Ten of you are FIRED.. she said sternly before walking out on them.
The girl who made the mistake fainted on the spot. She couldn't believe the beautiful monster had just spared her.
Though she's been in the mansion for two weeks now trying her best not to get on Diva's nerves. She didn't imagine a day like that will come. The joy in her heart actually made her fainted
Lydia shook her head slowly with a small smile displaying on her face. She knew Godiva so well
She has been taking care of Diva since she was 12 and she has always taken her as a daughter
Diva showed her some respect too though
" Carry her to her room" Lydia said and the other maids did exactly what she ordered
Godiva walked to the sitting room all dressed for work. She glanced at the dining table which was well presented with different types of dishes but she didn't have an appetite for food that moment
" Lydia.." she called and she ran over to where Diva was
" I need some new employees now" she said and Lydia nodded.
She sat on the sofa and checked the time, she was supposed to be at her company but she needed to interview the new employees before she goes
Her phone rang and she picked up
📞 Good morning ma'am. Mr Ajay and some other investors needs you at the office
📞 If they can't wait, tell them to leave.. she replied and ended the call
" I'm sorry gentle men but you will need to be patient.." Gianna, Godiva's secretary said to the investors
" Why in hell will she ask us to wait?" One of the investors banged his hands loudly on the table
" You can leave if you want to, no one is holding you back " Gianna shrugged nonchalantly, chewing the gum in her mouth
" It seems everyone in this company is mentally deranged" another investor muttered lowly
They really wanted to partner with Godiva so they had no choice, but to wait quietly
" That witch is getting more scary as each day passes.... After firing fifteen people just last week. Gosh, she is really scary" Jack said clicking on the final button on his computer
He was Godiva's computer expert. Lydia had called him, asking him to placed the notice online and only twenty people were to come for the job and they had just twenty minutes to be at the mansion if they really needed the job
" Who cares, as far as she pays me well, I'll just keep doing my job.. Jack laughed
" Done " he smiled and within seconds, thirty people already contacted him
" That's just it, she's so lucky.. " he said as he mailed the address to them.
Anytime he paste a job vacancy online, including Diva's name or her home address, thousands of people will apply for the job
People always rush to it as if they were under some kind of spell
GODIVA'S MANSION
Minutes later, the compound was filled with different girls and women
Lydia smiled at them, welcoming them but before she sends anyone in, she made sure none of them was putting on perfume
Though no one knew this.. those that had spray on, she advised them to go back home
The girls started entering the mansion one after the other but majority of them either left the mansion crying or in anger
" I guess it didn't go as they expected" Lydia sighed, leaving the rest of the applicants outside and walking back inside
She met Godiva sipping from a glass of wine with two people standing a distance from her
" Oh! She found two people already" Lydia muttered but she heard her. She stared at her briefly before looking elsewhere.
She got ten more people before dismissing the rest of the crowd
" Lydia.. She called and Lydia walked to her
" Teach them what they need to know" She stood up and left the mansion
She met Nicolas, her driver waiting for her
She got into the car and he did same, igniting the engine and driving out of the compound
THE MORENO'S MANSION
" Vespertine.. aren't you gonna visit your sister today?" Larina asked, descending the stairs
"Mom, that's between Diva and I" Vespertine replied, his gaze on his phone
" She must have missed you" Alston, his dad added walking downstairs too
" Did you both plan this?" Vespertine asked sitting on the dining, ready to eat breakfast before heading to school
" If she really did miss me, she would have called" he added, scooping food into his mouth and immediately his phone rang
" Speak of the devil"
" Diva I guess " his mom asked and he sighed
" What does she want? Jack already told me she was employing new workers after firing 15 of them just last week. Seriously, I wonder where you both got her from?" He sighed again dropping his spoon
📞 I have some work for you, come over during the evening.. Godiva said and ended the call
" Wow.. She's gone totally crazy" he hissed staring at his phone
" I'm off.." he stood up and walked out of the house..
Vespertine and Godiva are siblings. Godiva being the first child and an independent successful business lady while Vespertine, her kid brother who is 18 is an high school student and also a badass hacker..
He's friends with Jack, his sister's computer expert.
" Hope it isn't another office work?" He sighed for the hundredth time as he drove to school
DIVA'S COLLECTION
She walked elegantly and majestically into the company like the queen she was
Her steps faltered when she perceived a strange smell, she immediately got her nose mask from her bag, putting it on before facing the direction where she had perceived the scent
" Come here.." she pointed at a girl and the girl walked up to her
" What's your name?"
" Claudia"
" Now Claudia, is she wearing a body spray?" She pointed at another girl.
Claudia smelled the girl's body and and nodded her head
" Yes she is "
Godiva turned to the girl..... "You're FIRED " she said and walked out of them while the girl who had perfume on just stood dumbfounded
" What did I do?" The girl asked, confused
"There's no point pleading" Claudia told her
" But I was just employed yesterday"
" Whoever employed you didn't ask you not to come with body spray?" Claudia asked and walked away
The Employees who came across Godiva bowed as she walked into the conference room.
She met Mr Ajay and some other first- time investors seated. She sat on the swivel chair and crossed her legs on each other.. she just kept mute giving them space to talk..
After a very long talk which seemed boring to her, she decided to partner with them
" Thanks for your time gentlemen " she gave a fake smile and stood up, ready to leave when one of the board members walked pass her and the scent of his perfume penetrated her nose..
She staggered as her eyes suddenly turn red.. her body was itching too but she's was not gonna do anything In front of all those people in the room
" All of You, leave. I don't wanna see you any of you " She gritted out, her head bent before running out of the room
" Huh? What's happening ?" Noise erupted from those in the room
"It's best you all leave now " Gianna, the secretary told them before going after Godiva
Godiva wobbled her way to the drawer, crashing into the pile of file on her table but she stood up back weakly, reaching for the drawer
She looked like a monster right now with her veins visible and life slowly leaving her body
She groaned painfully and struggled with difficulty till she got a syringe from the drawer and immediately injected herself. she inhaled deeply but weakly as she watch her body slowly come back to normal after a while
" Those Stüpid morons.." she cursed, getting up on her feet slowly and that moment, Gianna entered
" Take care of things here Gianna.... she said and made to leave but stopped
" I discovered a new perfume last night and I'll be sending you the ingredients later. You guys should work on it, it's gonna sell cause it's scent would be perfect and out of the world" she said and Gianna nodded. With that, she left her office heading home.
" Such a waste coming to work today" she shook her head as her driver drove her back to the mansion
SAME DAY, EVENING
Vespertine walked into the mansion and the maids greeted him as he entered.
" Wow, new faces? Diva is amazing isn't she?" he sighed before walking into his own room. He had a room in the mansion.
He had a bath and was now in something comfy
" Diva.. he called walking to her room.. he twisted the knob and it opened.
He quickly duck when he saw a slipper flying towards him
" Why didn't you knock @sshole.." Godiva asked, returning her gaze to her laptop
" How did you know I was coming?" He asked but she didn't reply
"Come here Viper, you need to check this out.." she said
"It's Vesper, Vespertine!! " He rolled his eyes
" Whatever, just come " she said and he walked to her
"The new spray I'm working on " She said
"So why are you telling me about your new found spray?" Vespertine asked sarcastically
"dumb@ss.." she gave him a knock before closing the laptop
" How are your parents?" She asked, playing with his hair
"My parents?"
" Yeah, Mr Moreno and his wife" She replied but he slapped her hands off his hair before Walking out of her room
" I'm not done talking fóól.." She yelled after him
"You can talk to your laptop.. ugly gorilla " Vespertine retorted...
"Is that how she welcomes me after a week of not seeing me? That psycho I have as a sister.. she called me here only because of her new discovered spray?" He hissed loudly, shutting his door in a loud bang
Midnight
It was exactly midnight but sleep was very far from Godiva as she kept tossing on her bed. She had sent the ingredients to Gianna and had done everything she had to do but sleep still wasn't coming.
Left with one option, she got down from the bed, heading to the sitting room. She didn't bother to turn on the light as she climbed the couch with a bowl of popcorn in her hand
She turn on the TV and played a horror movie
" A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET " was boldly written on the tv screen
"Here we go..." She smiled, leaning back on the couch
The sitting room was so dark that the tv was the only source of light. Her eyes stayed glued on the screen as the movie played
" m*rek, Freddy should have given her a more painful death " she laughed loudly as she watched Freddy Slice open Tina's abdomen, leaving her blood splash everywhere in the room and drags the body to the ceiling
" Freddy needs to learn some killing techniques from me. I mean, he should have stab her numerous times before slicing her abdomen open. His killing method is whack, I'm disappointed!! " she shook her head, disappointedly as she stuffed her mouth with popcorn
" haha.." she laughed again this time like a real witch..
" ARGHH!!! GODIVA!!!!!!" Vespertine screamed from his room when he couldn't take it anymore
The rest of the employees who were sleeping woke up all looking frightened
CHAPTER 2
( THE FIGHT )
" What's happening? Is the house haunted?" One of the new employee asked, shaking slightly
" Just pretend you didn't hear it and go back to sleep.. you'll get use to it soon " Lydia said, trying to comfort the new employees.
She just entered their rooms that looked like a dorm, with plenty bed above each other
" Gosh, I've been here for almost seven months now but I don't seem to be use to all the midnight laughs.. it gives me nightmares.." another girl said while Lydia just smiled at them
" How were you able to cope with her? I heard you've been with her since she was 12!!"
"Ya'll should sleep now if you wanna keep your job.. no mistake tomorrow or you all know her anthem"
" You're FIRED.. the old maids who had stayed longer said before giggling lowly
" Huh?" The newbies exclaimed
" You'll get use to it soon.. it's the trending song in this house, composed by Godiva Moreno". another said
"It seems you're all tired of your job.." Lydia sigh, leaving for the door since she doesn't sleep with the maids, she had her own room. She just came to comfort the newly employees cause she knew they would be frightened
She twisted the door knob only to meet Godiva In front of the door with her hair covering her face
" Ahh!!! " The maids screamed but immediately they didn't see anyone again at the door..
Lydia sighed, realizing what had happened. She was use to it already
" Gosh I'm so scared right now... " One of the maids cried but Lydia exhaled before walking out of their room.
" Diva has really create fear in the heart of those kids.." Lydia said before climbing her bed.. she closed her eyes to sleep but Godiva's laughs wouldn't let her.
" Diva can you please stop all this.." Vespertine groan as he stood up from bed..
He walked to the sitting room but didn't meet her anywhere there
" Where the hell did she go to? And why are all the lights off?" He wondered.
That moment, Godiva was just leaving the kitchen too with another bowl of popcorn, her hair scattered everywhere around her face giving her the ghost look
Vespertine groped for the switch with his hands and turned it on
He exhaled deeply before making an attempt to switch off the TV
" How does she watch this inhumane movies and laugh like she's watching a comedy?" He muttered taking the remote
"What do you think you're doing?" Came Godiva's voice from behind, her head was up but one couldn't see her face because of her scattered hair
" Ahh!!!" Vespertine screamed as he fell over the couch and landed on the floor heavily
Godiva immediately swept her scattered hair backwards revealing her face
" Diva, are you crazy?" He yelled standing up
" Don't yell at me you bast@rd..." Godiva yelled back
"Why did you switch on the light?" She questioned
" It was giving me the chills you idiot "
" What? idiot? You're gonna die this night you godforsaken brother of mine. "she shouted, running after him
He ran to his room and shut the door from inside
" Open this d@mn door.." she banged on his door
" Can you please stop acting like you're mentally deranged? " Vespertine yelled and immediately, the banging stopped
" She left? Guess she left " He sighed, sitting on his bed
"How did we become siblings? Gosh, she's scary, I can't get use to it.." he breath out
He tilted his head to his window side only to see a figure staring at him with hair covering it's face
" Ahh!!" He screamed again, falling from the bed. He got the mop stick and started tiptoeing to his window from a corner
" Die!!! " He hit the mop stick on the figure's head and the person fainted on the spot
He had no idea it was his sister till she fell and her hair left her face..
" Godiva? "
" DIVA !!" he called fearfully, running out of the house.
He carried her unconscious body to his room and laid her on his bed
" You won't be the end of me.." he sigh, covering her with the quilt.
He sighed again before sleeping next to her
NEXT MORNING, A SHAMAN'S HOME
The shaman kept chanting to the godmother's, reciting some rituals as Larina, Godiva's mom sat waiting for the her to be done with her prayers
" Ahh" the shaman screamed as if she just left the spirit world back to Earth
" What's your daughter's name?"
" Godiva.." Larina replied and the shaman began chanting in a different language
She chanted for a while before finally looking up at Larina
" She's in a middle of nowhere.." The shaman said still counting the beads in her hands
" She needs someone to bring her back to light.." she said again
"Like a man or a woman?" Larina asked but the shaman didn't reply as she continues chanting to her deities
" Someone is coming.. though it won't be a simple battle between them.. make sure she go on dates, her personality will change if she starts interacting with people.."
"Is there any talisman I can use on her?" Larina asked while the shaman stretch forth her hands
" Ah, money.."Larina placed a bunch of dollars on the table. The shaman smiled before writing a talisman for her.
" Thank you shaman.." Larina said, putting the talisman in her bag and walking out of the small house
" I hope this one works" she prayed before entering her car and igniting the engine
She knew all the others talisman did more harm than good to her daughter's personality
GODIVA'S MANSION
Her eyes snapped open at once and she looked around the room
" What in the name of heaven am I doing in this god-damned room?" She sat upright and immediately recall what happened the previous night
" Viper..." She gritted out, glaring at him as he stood by the mirror fixing his hair.
He was already dressed for school
" You're awake.." he said but she walked to him and grabbed his ears
" I'm your older sister for Christ sake" she screamed into his ears as she tweaked it hard
" Diva, it hurts "
" Yeah, my head hurt more, how dare you hit me so hard last night?" She yelled not leaving his ears..
" Now you've grown abs and six packs, you think I'm the younger one now? Cos you're taller than me? This is frustrating, one will really think I'm the younger one here " she ranted still holding unto his ears
" Let go and let's talk things out " Vespertine pleaded
"Where are my babies.." Larina said walking towards Vespertine's room
" What do you think you're doing to my baby?" She asked rushing to them and Godiva scoffed before letting go of her brother
" You're wicked Diva " He whined, rubbing his ears
"Of course, you can ask around.. very wicked.. my first name "
"I wonder how you'll find a man.." he said, picking up his bag
"I won't find one, hope you're satisfied now " she replied
"You must find one!!!" Larina said sharply which made her laugh
"Hope it isn't another blind date mom? You know I'm not into all those stuff.. so don't get your hopes up cause Godiva here is going nowhere.." She said walking out of Vespertine's room while her mom followed behind.
Vespertine was already on the dining munching on his breakfast. He took one of his sister's car keys before leaving the mansion
They got to Godiva's room and Larina secretly plastered the talisman behind her curtain which immediately change color signifying it's doing it's job
" Who's my date this time around?" She finally asked and her mom gush happily
" It worked..said inwardly as Godiva walked into her bathroom
" His name is davis, he's very handsome. He's definitely your type of guy.." Larina said and she rolled her eyes, leaving the bathroom
" I have no type of guy in mind, so don't get your hopes high" she scoffed, letting the towel around her body fall and began dressing in front of her mom
" Don't you have any shame young lady? " Larina questioned
"You should know you were supposed to leave when I was bathing" She replied and her mom sighed before sitting on her bed.
" Care for breakfast?" She asked her mom as they walked out of her room
" I'm fine " her mom replied
They got to the dining *settled down on a chair, looking around to see if she'll find fault with the employees but she saw none*
" They've finally given themselves brains.." she scoffed
" I'll go to the office now.. " she told her mom and walked out of the house before her mom could even reply
She looked around but didn't find her the car she wanted to use
" That @sshole" she cursed. " Why must it be the white car Viper? Just why?" She hissed loudly

" Let's see it " Godiva said and wore her nose mask heading to her laboratory
At a distance, she stared at the golden color perfume from the transparent glass and nodded her head in satisfaction
" It's looks good.." she said, taking few steps further but her phone rang
" Who could this be?" She asked leaving the lab while her secretary followed behind

Vespertine alighted from the car and as usual, the girls gushed happily at how cute he was
he got the looks and body that could drive any girl insane except someone like his sister, who didn't have a heart
Jerry drove in too almost hitting him but he didn't budge untill Jerry stopped his car" It seems you're ready to die don't you?" Jerry snapped
They hated each other's guts.
" It's my fault for not moving out of the way when I know you're blind " Vespertine smirked and that only got Jerry angry
He hated Vespertine cos he's the popular one among the girls
Any girl he seem to get attracted to always had a crush on vespertine and it was annoying as hell
" What did you say?" Jerry fumed but Vespertine wasn't ready to talk to him so he made his way to class
Jerry followed and pulled him back, landing him a punch which made him bleed from the mouth

Jerry made to give him another punch but he caught his hands and punched him instead, sending him to the ground
" I was trying to be a gentleman this morning but you had to piss me off " he spat out the blood from his mouth before landing Jerry countless punches
They kept switching positions as each of them took turns to attack the other
A teacher immediately ran to them and pulled Vespertine away before landing him a slap
" Is this how you should behave in school? " The teacher asked, glaring at him hatefully while he just sigh
Most of his teachers didn't like him because they all think he's rude. The way he always talk and walk out on them was considered rude
Mr harmsburg, the principal walked into the scene afterwards
" Why do you love fighting with Jerry always? why?" Mr harmsburg yelled
" But this harlot was at fault.." Vespertine replied
" Meet me in my office " Mr harmsburg said and left.
He turned to Jerry who was still on the ground
" Don't try shit with me next time.." he said, before walking to the principal's office
" Why did you beat him up?" Mr harmsburg asked
" I shouldn't be the only one getting questioned Mr. Principal but that's fine. Even if I tell you he started it you wouldn't believe, so no need " Vespertine replied and this only got the principal angry.
" Call your parents, I think we need to let them know about your aggressive attitude towards your fellow students.." But their names and numbers are on my Bio, you can just call them and save me the stress" he replied and Mr harmsburg banged his hands loudly on the table
" Are you telling me what to do right now?" He snapped
" Fine, I just need to call my parents right?" Vespertine asked
" Yes, and they have to see me right away "
He smirked secretly as his mind drifted to Godiva

Godiva stared at her phone as it rang without picking up. Getting tired of the numerous calls from the unknown number, she groaned before picking up

She said sarcastically while Davis chuckled
📞 That wasn't funny. So why did you call?
She asked though she was aware it was the guy her mom was talking about
📞 Are you busy right now? Davis asked
📞 Are you jobless? She asked back

📞 Yes.. cause you should know I'm at work..
She rolled her eyes while Davis chuckled again
📞 Oh! I'm actually at work too. I'll drop by later so we could go out on a date.. Davis smiled but she only scoffed before ending the call

Raphael got the door only to see Cerlia smiling brightly at him

" Hey.. " she smiled and hugged him which he reciprocate to immediately.. he lifted her up in his arms swaying her around while she giggled softly

" You're cute.." he smiled and kissed her pouted lips while she responded to it too. They kissed passionately and it was getting tensed but she quickly broke the kiss
" Is everything alright?" Raphael asked, confused and she nodded..
" It's Just that, you need to be at work by 5pm and it's almost 5pm. I need to see my parents too" she replied
" Oh, How about we go together?" He asked but she smiled and kissed him shortly

" Alright then.." he replied standing too, he held her waist as they walked out of the house.

Girls kept throwing him seductive stares and hitting on him as usual but being the decent guy he was, he didn't even look at their side talk more of responding to them cos he had eyes only for one girl

" That's because she's working now, she's a busy lady. I wouldn't want to have this conversation again Arnold " Raphael said and stood up. He left Arnold and sat somewhere else

Alston walked into the house and Larina walked up to him to collect his briefcase.
" Welcome " she said and kissed her husband

She switched off her phone and threw it randomly across the room before going under her blanket
Raphael walked down the street in the dark night with his hands in his big hoodie
He brought out his slightly cracked phone and decided to call Cerlia since he was missing her badly
He couldn't check up on her cos it was late already and he was tired from stress so he decided to call her instead
Cerlia was about picking up her call when she heard the door bell but she had to pick up when she noticed it was Raphael

She opened the door revealing Elton who captured her lips immediately
📞 I'm not busy tomorrow, so I'll spend some time with you Okay? Raphael said but got no response since she was already in a hot make out session with Elton

She smiled at Elton before kissing him as they both head to her bedroom without breaking the kiss.
